-
GC: You will have before you [257], present in this room; his physical, mental and spiritual body, as well as his business surroundings. You will review his case, tell us what conditions you now find, what improvements the body has undergone, and what the next steps are to further improve the body. You will also answer the questions pertaining to his business associates and associations, in the daily conduct of his business, and how he can improve himself to better serve God and man.
-
EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [257]; this we have had before; as well as many of the material and business associations, as related to the activities of this body.
-
In the physical forces, - as we find, conditions in the present are progressing very satisfactorily. There only needs to be kept those precautions respecting overtaxation physically, and as related to the diets and activities of the body as respecting assimilations AND eliminations.
-
For, if there is the perfect assimilation of that taken as fuel or food for the body, this - nature’s activity through the body - will in itself replenish naturally those needs of the body. Just as is indicated here, - there have been needs that the assimilating forces, through the glandular system of the body, create those necessary forces for coagulative activities, as well as for replenishing in the system those activities necessary to build certain characters of bodily forces and functions that - through operative measures - have been taken from the body.
-
The first disturbances - as indicated here many, many, MANY moons ago - were caused by an unbalanced chemical activity of the assimilating forces, as supplied by the excretory and secretive functioning of the liver; which caused the segregation in the system of those disturbing influences that grew to be destructive in their activity. [GD’s note: He died of cancer 12/7/68, after several operations thru the yrs. At the last it went to his liver; his skin turned yellow.]
-
Now, in the present, take these warnings, - that there be no recurrent conditions, or that such an unbalanced condition does not produce other disturbances, through some other portion of the system, that are of a similar or concrete kindred nature. For, remember, the ORGANS involved must still function; and thus there are those inclinations and tendencies that must be corrected in a manner else the operative forces have only removed the effects - not the causes of conditions. For, these are builded within the system by and through the very NATURES, or natural functioning, of the bodily forces themselves.
-
Occasionally, then, - once in six months, - have a blood test and count; see as to whether or not there is the proper coordination between the upper and the lower hepatic circulation, by the tests from the discharge from the kidneys and the like; and govern the appetites - as well as the chemical forces of the bodily functions themselves - according to same.
-
Thus we will find we will be able to keep the body in better physical condition.
-
As indicated in the present, the body has been warned respecting those things to which the body is naturally allergic, - malt or ANY of its combinations. Then, refrain from THIS as a portion of the diet. But there ARE properties that may in some respects, or in some orders, be considered as a kindred nature, - that is, the products from which malt was made. But remember the chemical reaction in the system, - it is the MALT to which the body is allergic, and also to some of those combinations of same - as also liquors. Wines - red wines - are very good as FOOD, not as drinks. Also the body is allergic to beef that is not well cooked, for the nature of the product itself sets up activities in the hepatic circulation, or the liver and its functioning, to produce that which is a disturbing element. And the tendencies are there!
-
Hence the body, through its MENTAL self, as it were, must lean backward in refraining from those things that would allow this tendency to become a physical reality in its reaction.
-
Do these, and we will keep better physically fit.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) What will improve conditions of the eye? Do I need glasses for special use? (A) Remember, in the bodily functionings age begins to tell, - as to the use of those portions of the system that have been under strain. Then, for close work, there needs to be the use of glasses.
-
(Q) What caused the flickering in the upper left side of the mouth? (A) This was only a temporary nerve reaction from exhaustion to those areas of nerve flexes and plexus between sympathetic and cerebrospinal system. Also, as the body will recall, some few hours before this occurred there were some conditions in which there was rather the amazement to the imaginative forces of the body, as respecting some circumstance.
-
(Q) Will sauterne wines be good for my body with dinner? (A) Rather the red than the sauternes for this body; while the sauternes may be taken with certain characters of foods - as fish, fowl or lamb, or the like. The red wines would be taken rather with brown breads, and the like, as a food in itself - such as late in the afternoon or evening.
-
(Q) Is Burgundy or Chianti better? (A) Burgundy. Well, we would change at times; for circumstances themselves change these.
-
(Q) What will aid condition of hair and scalp? (A) If you would seek that as would be of the MOST aid, - drink the juice from potato peelings about once or twice a week; and then massage the scalp with a weakened solution of Atomidine (a few drops to a tablespoonful of water). (Stew the potato peelings in a little water and drink.)
-
(Q) Is there any internal medicine I should take for general conditioning? (A) None has been given here! We have outlined those manners, means and ways to keep in touch with those things as may be needed. Follow these suggestions.
-
(Q) Which would be better for me, - a trip to Florida, or California; considering business conditions as well as health? (A) Southern route to California.
-
(Q) When should I make this trip? (A) This depends upon circumstances.
-
(Q) What will be the best domestic help to have in the house while my family and I are gone? (A) These must be chosen by circumstances. Those who are untried, to be sure, would be questionable; but if there are those who are trained, and there is a sympathetic relationship with those left in charge of the house for the associations with same, such would be very well.
-
(Q) White or colored? (A) White, of course, is preferable to the colored; if this is in keeping with the purposes and desires.
-
(Q) Would any foreign help be especially recommended? (A) Not necessarily; for, remember, as has been indicated.
-
(Q) As to the Brunswick business, - I am considering building special radio in Garod plant in the Sperry Bldg., in Long Island City, under the special direction of our own engineer and officials. Would this be a satisfactory change away from RCA, considering war conditions and other dangers which might affect production of sets for next year? (A) As we find, the better or the special should be builded under such conditions, while the regular or the cheaper grades may be kept in the same as indicated already.
-
(Q) Considering frequency modulation, should I attempt to build sets as high as $600 for 1941-2? (A) If so, these should be rather special than for general distribution.
-
(Q) Is there anything else that should be added to our sets for unusual value for next year? (A) The manner in which these constructions are considered will be of special value, and we wouldn’t change from these for the next season.
-
(Q) Are the period cabinets I have in mind the proper ones to develop for next year? (A) As has been indicated for some time through these channels, period furniture and the special patterns are very well - but DON’T spread them too far apart. Hold to those that are the better, and in keeping with the general trend in the furniture, you see; and most of these in the present moment are towards the French, but this will change - it will not last through the entire season.
-
(Q) Should I add modern cabinets to the line? (A) So as to HAVE same, yes; for there are some portions of the country in which this is well, as indicated; such as the southwest, where the modern is considered the better as yet.
-
(Q) What special woods should be used for this type of furniture? (A) As we find, the cherry would be the better.
-
(Q) Would California trip be worth while both from standpoint of design and contact with the accounts? (A) It can be made so. All of this depends very much upon that chosen activity of the body through such a trip. If it is to be a combination, it can be made so. If it is to be only a pleasure trip, make it so! WE would combine it, - for you’ll have more than one outlet.
-
(Q) What improvements will the Forces suggest for the further development and expansion of the Brunswick sales and manufacturing policy, to continue the fine quality Brunswick name? (A) This answers its own self! Continue the fine quality and not rest upon that already accomplished; and then follow those lines and suggestions as have been already indicated. Such policies don’t change so suddenly!
-
(Q) Will frequency modulation be necessary in all sets for next year’s line? (A) Frequency modulation will be necessary.
-
(Q) Am I correct in naming outstanding stores as special representatives, rather than selling every type of dealer all over the country, as is done by my competitors? (A) To be SURE! This has been stressed again and again, and it hasn’t changed yet!
Those that are the harder to get, those that are considered by the leading ones as being of the nature and character and design, and the frequency and the modulations, and all these things, - take them into consideration. They have their place, and yet - as in human experiences in most affairs, of course - there are many things that are only advertising - that doesn’t mean a THING to the individual! But let every point be made as to the value of the product as presented in specialty stores, specialty centers.
-
(Q) Considering the present background, and the future plans for Brunswick, what are the possibilities for the future? (A) Depends upon the manner in which they are exercised; that is, the manner of presentation. Just as one may know, - no matter how good a product may be, it can be so badly presented by the people as to lose its value in its relations. Let the policies be made, as has so oft been outlined, so that there is REAL value for real people! Consider each set, each job, as if it were being built for thyself, under the circumstances you expect the other fellow to be a purchaser. For, if there are the changes in policies of man’s relationship to his fellow man, he that puts that into his business FIRST will SURELY be the leader!

We are through for the present.
