Text
Date: 3/16/1934 Sex: F Age: 43 ReadingID: 1570
This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at 76 Ranch, Bonita, Arizona, this 16th day of March, 1934, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [264], Active Member of the Assoc. for Research and Enlightenment, Inc.
[Edgar Cayce; T. Mitchell Hastings, Jr., Conductor and Steno. (GD later transcribed the reading from his longhand notes.)]
Time of Reading Time Unknown. Washington, D.C.
-
TMH: You will have before you [264], at the Hotel …, Washington, D.C., and you will tell what is to be done for her under present conditions.
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [264]. This we have had before. Present conditions are exaggerated by the strain which has existed through these changes that have been brought by the movements of the body. The loss of blood has weakened the body until it must be built for resistance before any other measures may be taken.
-
We would find that enzymes would so raise the red blood supply that this then may be removed, either by an operation or by the continued using of those things already given for the reduction of same.
-
We are through for the present.
Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 3/16/34 EC’s wire to Mrs. [264]: “Condition exaggerated by overactivity. Use enzymes to rebuild red blood supply before taking further measures. Then operation or continued using suggestions given previously.”
R2. 3/16/34 Mrs. [264]‘s wire to EC in Arizona: “Who makes enzymes? Where can I get it? State dosage.”
R3. 3/18/34 See EC’s reading for answer - 264-40; and 264-41 on 4/11/34 advising that she take Ventriculin with iron.
R4. GD’s note: Mrs. [264] had recently moved to DC from North Carolina. A letter I wrote to her on 2/26/34 was addressed to her in North Carolina - we did not know she had moved, until the wire came from DC asking for the reading.
R5. See subsequent Ck. Physical Rdgs.
R6. 3/27/50 She replied to Questionnaire: “I have taken Ventriculin with iron (a Parke-Davis product) immediately before dinner to raise count of red cells and to aid digestion. Have found it most effective. The reading suggested that I take 1/2 the dosage prescribed on bottle, which I did.
“I found it most beneficial during the winter when feeling the lack of sunshine.
“By taking 1 bottle (which lasts about 17 days) I always feel much stronger.
“While very anemic I took about six bottles by taking 1 dose every day before dinner.
“While now my blood count is normal, I take 1 or 2 bottles during the winter if I feel I need added strength.
“Have found it best to leave off very salty foods (chipped or dried beef, or bacon) at the meal when the Ventriculin with Iron is taken, as it caused a pain in my stomach. Otherwise there was no pain or adverse effect.”
Background
Background
B1. For four yrs. she had obtained rdgs. outlining tr. to eliminate uterine tumor which had been unoperable since 1925 due to anemia and a heart condition. After correcting the anemia she decided to continue attempting to eliminate the tumor by absorption, rather than submitting to surgery.
B2. 3/14/34 Wire to EC at Va. Beach: “What should be done for me under present conditions? Wire collect by Western Union.”
B3. 3/14/34 Answering wire by HLC: “Dad in Arizona for rest. Is condition serious enough to wire him?”
B4. 3/14/34 Wire to HLC by Mrs. [264]‘s husband: “Very important. Wire Mr. Cayce’s address in Arizona collect by Western Union.”
B5. 3/14/34 HLC’s wire to Mrs. [264]‘s husband: “Edgar Cayce, 76 Ranch, Bonita, Arizona.”
B6. 3/14/34 Mrs. [264]‘s wire to EC in Arizona: “Reading. What should be done for me under present conditions?”
B7. 3/16/34 MD’s ltr. to Mrs. [264] and husband: “We are very anxious about Mrs. [264]‘s condition. Were so sorry to know that complications have arisen, as indicated by the wire. We hope you were successful in locating Mr. Cayce and getting a reading. We were not sure he had reached the ranch and had no way of knowing this, as they had a lot of car trouble and a delay of over a week before reaching their destination. Please let us know. Judge [EC] went to Arizona with a young man, T. Mitchell Hastings, Jr. from N.Y. He needed a rest and change and took advantage of the opportunity afforded by the invitation. Gladys has been home to visit her family, but we are expecting her tomorrow, as she has been gone over two weeks. Young Mitch will have to take [conduct] the reading, if they get one, or have gotten one, and take the notes, too, unless they can get a stenographer.”
