Reports & Follow-up
R1. 3/26/34 Mrs. [264]‘s ltr.: “Want to thank you so much for giving me the reading, sending the telegrams, etc. Would have written before but kept thinking the reading would come explaining more about the enzyme. As I could not get it straight about the right enzyme, I bought a bottle of Armour’s Liver Extract and am taking that for the present. Mr. Cayce, my sister went or phoned to DOZENS of drug stores here in DC and the druggists had never heard of enzymes. However, after you wired me it was Parke, Davis product our druggist said Parke-Davis salesman would be in that afternoon and he would get it for me. AND then the salesman said enzyme was new on the market and there were numbers of enzymes, just as one would say there were numbers of anesthetics, and if he knew WHICH one I wanted he’d send it over from Baltimore at once. However, he did say that he believed the one I wanted was Ventriculum Ventriculin], and that the Ventriclum Ventriculin] was put up with and without iron, and he would have to know which one of those I wanted. He said Ventriculum Ventriculin] is an enzyme. So if you can help me out on this, I surely will appreciate it, as I need it badly. Am so weak, and my heart is so irregular. The growth is getting loads smaller. Thank God! …I came up here to help husband [853] get a real job with a real salary, so I could pay you and Dr. B. [Edw. P. Brenner, D.C.] and so I could hold that mental attitude which would get me well, since all depended on that.”
R2. 4/5/34 She wrote to GD: “I appreciate the Norfolk Study Group joining in prayers for me. I truly needed them and feel sure that I was benefitted.
“I would have written before, but have been to weak even to sit up without almost feeling real torture. I have done the things which were absolutely necessary for me to do, regardless of how I felt…
“The druggist said the Ventriculum enzymes were supposed to aid digestion rather than to build red cells. So if you can help me out I’ll be so glad. Should I use the Ventriculum [Ventriculin] with or without the iron? I am anxious to get it as soon as possible. As I could not get it, I brought Armour’s Liver Extract and am taking that.
“I am much stronger yesterday and today than I have been at all.
“No, I haven’t been operated on and am not going to be unless a reading says operate.
“Within two days I passed about two quarts of blood tumors and so very much blood. The sac now is about one-fourth the size it was. If I only knew what would keep it from refilling again! I had no one to wait on me, as Mr. [853]
had to go to work, and had I called in a HUMAN BEING and if they had seen my condition they would have rushed me to the hospital, so I put my clothes on and walked about two blocks to a drug store for my meals, just trusting God and the guidance He would give Mr. Cayce to help me. Every day strangers would say, ‘Are you ill? You don’t look like you have a drop of blood in your body,’ and I’d say, ‘I am getting better now, thank you.’
“I am getting my breakfast and dinner in the same building where I room now, and really am improving.
“My feet and legs don’t swell as badly, my heart action is much better and I have slept much better the past two nights. Lots of nights I did not go to sleep all night as my pulse and circulation were so bad. They are better now, too.
“Am going to take this enzyme as soon as I can get it, then in a reasonable length of time I want to get another rdg. I have been a long time getting well, but believe me, I am going to get well, and I won’t have to have an operation either.
“Am so glad Mr. Cayce had that nice trip. He certainly needed a rest. Know you all are happy to have him back. Was sorry I had to break in on that much needed rest…
“For over two weeks I had an awful pain in back of my neck and on the back of my head. That has gone, too.”
R3. 4/11/34 EC gave her Ck. Physical Rdg. 264-41.
