This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the Washington Hotel, Room 115, Chicago, Ill., this 21st day of July, 1924, in accordance with request made by self - [2667].

1. EC: Now, we find the conditions in the body somewhat changed from those as we had here before. The general physical conditions throughout is somewhat improved. In some respects there is great improvement.

2. Now, these are conditions as we find them at the present time, irrespective of conditions as we had them before, [2667] we are speaking of, present in this room. First:

3. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, we find this is very good, and the pressure in blood supply is near normal, though we have at times, from specific conditions, when the pressure rises above normal. Division of white and red blood supply divided normal for conditions. This we find is great deal better than in times back.

4. IN THE NERVE SYSTEM, we find there are centers that need adjustment, that the impinionment of supply in elimination and in distribution may become the normal condition again, for we have centers where, with the impinionment of branches of the nerve center, that certain portions of the body over the system gives the abundant supply of blood force and produce a condition of plethora. This condition we find is in the 4th cervical, which supplies the blood forces nutriment and the eliminations from the bronchial forces. Also in the 4th dorsal do we find the same condition acting in a reflex manner. This condition we find in the two specific places brings the condition as is produced in the bronchials. This produces spasmodic condition and increases the flow of blood at times until the difficult breathing is produced from this condition. In the forces then of nerve centers this affects sympathetically the sensory organism.

5. IN THE ORGANS OF THE BODY AS FUNCTIONING, brain forces very good. Above the normal in many respects, especially that given to the spiritual elements in any given condition, whether of the physical or of material.

6. In the organs of sensory system, we find that through nerve strain portions of these in their functioning at times become submerged and difficult for the organs to function normal. As this: Under strain of excitement difficult for the vocal cords to function in co-ordination with the thinking or brain forces. The eye we find at times comes under same conditions; blurry or mist from overtaxing nerve forces from the 4th dorsal, the 4th cervical conditions.

7. In the throat and larynx, bronchials, there we find that the tissue that supplies nutriment to these find a fullness from the lack of nutriment being equally distributed in the portion to perform its normal function, and this condition is produced, as has been given.

8. In the digestive tract, this we find coming from the connection of pneumogastric nerve we find connections with the nerves in region as given, and there are times when the reflex forces show the digestive tract in the nerve center of same becomes involved, and we have a form of nervous digestion rather than indigestion. This we find is from the same conditions as given.

9. Through the rest of the system we find the organs functioning near normal at the present time.

10. To bring then the normal forces to this body at the present time, we would for specific conditions, when spasmodic conditions occur, take this:

11. Calcidin - 5 grain tablets, either dissolved and taken or taken in mouth and let dissolve, that the effect may be produced in bronchials and bring relief, only taking these when these conditions occur.

12. To correct the condition, have these done by exercise, either osteopathically or chiropractically, or through the deep massaging and correcting and adjusting of the cervical and dorsals, as given.

13. Do that. We will find we will bring great relief, and in the course of times bring the body to the normal conditions by consistent application of these, and persistent exercise accorded the body as given. Do not allow the body to become over fleshly, for the flow of blood needs to be kept near the normal pressure, that there may be no reaction to the condition as is set at present in the cervical and dorsal region.

15. (Q) About a year ago this body had a small breaking out on the left wrist. He applied a solution which apparently healed up the place, but it left the skin red and very ugly looking. It becomes itchy at times. Please tell what he should do to heal up this place and remove the scars. (A) Apply this to these: Take Plantain root and stem (not leaves, [GD’s note: In some instances the Plaintain leaves WERE recommended to be used. See 5161-1, for example.] but that bearing the seeds) three ounces. Preferably in the green state. Place this in six ounces of water. Steep until this is reduced, until solution would be thick or until we have only two ounces of the solution. Strain and thicken to a soft paste by addition of oil of butterfat. That is, butter without salt that has had the water and milk removed by heat. Apply this once each day, massaging it into the parts showing the condition.

This will remove this. Do that.

My dear Mrs. [4376]:

It was certainly a great pleasure to again renew our acquaintance and friendship. I was indeed glad to see and be with you good people again. I certainly want to thank you for the kindness and consideration shown myself and Miss Davis while we were in Chicago. I’m very sorry it was not so that I could see you again.

You will please tell Mr. [2667] for me it’s impossible for me to get this preparation for him for a few days yet, as we will have part of the ingredients prepared for this prescription, but I feel very sure I can send it to him the latter part of the coming week, or I can send the Plantain to be prepared and he can have the chemist or druggist to prepare it here, whichever he prefers. You be sure and see that he gets those adjustments necessary for him to get rid of that trouble which he has, for I cannot help but feel that if we would have those adjustments made he will find a great deal of relief. Tell him to be sure and let me know at once whether to prepare this for him here or send the ingredients to him and let him have it prepared there.

Dear Mr. [2667]:

Have yours of the 11th and very glad to hear from you again.

The lotion was prepared and was sent you yesterday, and I’m in hopes it reaches you safely. You will find this, I am sure, will of necessity have to be stirred to-gether each time before applied. Should be put on a little piece of gauze and put over the place each evening, then may be cleansed off the next morning. I am sure you will find some results from this. I was very glad to have this done for you and hope it will prove satisfactory. I haven’t as yet received the book [[3744] series in manuscript form which EC loaned them to read] you mention. Suppose I will in to-day’s mail. I haven’t been very busy since I’ve been home. Don’t know just when I will return to Chicago. As soon as I’m able to get some arrangements made regarding the work there, I presume that will be the next move.

I suppose, from what Mr. [3818] said in reference to the wire sent me at Columbus, that he has fixed this matter up with you. I’m in need of some assistance at the present time and if this has been arranged I would be very glad for you to help me out what you can.

Would have liked very much to have taken the matter up with you regarding the publishing of this book, but I left in such a hurry that I didn’t have the opportunity to talk it over with you after I had seen the publisher. I believe this will be quite a successful publication, especially in view of the fact of the number of requests that I’ve already had and the great number of people in all parts of the country who are interested in such data at the present time, and especially those whom I’ve done work for.

Please remember me to Mrs. [4376] and the young folks. Tell [son] I’ll be very glad to hear from him if he feels inclined to write. I certainly enjoyed the two or three letters I had from him sometime ago.

Trusting that you have been situated so you could get the adjustments along with the medicinal properties that you were to take, and that you have found a great deal of relief in same. I’m sure you will if you are a little persistent in this.

I’m sure, however, you will not get the results you should if you do only part, and I would think it would be the wise thing to carry this out to the fullest degree. I’m in hopes also that this lotion arrives alright and proves as beneficial as similar suggestions have for others.

R4. 8/25/24 [2667]‘s letter to EC:

Mr. Edgar Cayce, Dayton, Ohio

Dear Mr. Cayce:-

I have yours of recent date also package containing salve - I am using it every evening and have also been taking every other day the treatments which you recommended. I thought that you would be back to Chicago by this time. With reference to Mr. [3818] he sent me his check last week for $150.00 which I had sent to you as per your wire. I don’t know what Mr. [3818] did for you since, for your readings, but if he has not given you anymore than that I have advanced to you, then I would recommend that you write him, as you were called here at his request and practically the greatest part of your readings were for him.

Trusting this will find you in perfect health - with kindest regards from Mrs. [4376] and my youngsters and myself.

My dear Mr. [2667]

Have yours of the 25th, with the check enclosed, for which I thank you very much. However, as I said, I did not mean to make a charge to you at all for getting this preparation fixed up for you, but I’m very much in hopes that you are getting the desired results by following out the suggestions as were given in the reading, and I’ll certainly be glad to hear from you and to know if you are. If not, I want to find out why not.

I had expected to be back in Chicago before this time. Apparently, however, it seems that Dr. Frisch has cold feet on the proposition. Seemingly on account of the attitude of the American Medical Association regarding such phenomena. Mr. […] was quite nice to me while I was in Chicago and helped me out for the time while I was there. The reason I asked you regarding a little assistance was that, having waited on these developments, and without having the work come in as fact as would under ordinary circumstances, its necessary that I have a little assistance from somewhere, and I felt perhaps you would not mind helping me out if it was convenient with you.

I’m glad to say that we’re all very well at present, and I’m in hopes this finds you and Mrs. [4376] and the young folks, all fine. Certainly be very glad to hear from you, and asking that I be remembered to Mrs. [4376] and the young people, I am

R6. 9/4/52 Letter from Mrs. [2982]: “About 6 mos. ago my husband [2981] developed a sore on his forehead resulting from a mole he had there. It remained raw for months - oozing a lymph-like fluid, and though he tried all kinds of salves for a period of 3 to 4 months - all to no avail. Then lightning struck! and we remembered the Plantain Salve and Sweet Cream recommended by the readings. I made it up and he applied it with a band-aid (to keep from wiping it off). He used it 24 hours a day and in less that 2 weeks the sore had healed completely - dried up, it seemed.”
