GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further improvement of same, and then will answer the questions regarding the physical and mental condition of this body that I will ask you.
-
EC: Now, we find there are many changes in the physical and mental forces of this body since last we had same. The conditions that are abnormal in the present physical forces have to do, somewhat, with the conditions as we have given here before, in the emunctories and the excretory system of the body, and the effects of the affectations in the right portion of the abdomen and the liver show how these conditions are manifesting themselves in physical forces of body. This, as we see then, a lack of the coordination in vibration as is necessary for the system to eliminate through its proper channels.
-
Then, to assist this condition in the body at the present time, to overcome these conditions, the body MUST pay more attention to the diet of the body, until the system is able to adjust itself to the proper vibration in each organism of the system.
-
Then, we would first add, then, to the system these properties in this manner:
-
Make and take five capsules of each of this consistency and proportions, see?
Podophyllin…1 grain, Leptandrin…1/2 grain, Sanguinaria…1 grain, Cascara Sagrada…1/2 grain, Dover’s Powder…1/2 grain.
-
These should be taken every second evening, until we have had a full action from the entire intestinal tract.
-
After these have been taken, take then one full dose Citrate Magnesia, that we may cleanse the system thoroughly, see?
-
After this, begin with the diet of the formations of whole wheat, of gruels from same, at least one meal a day to consist only of the full whole wheat, either rolled or in mash of in the form so the body may take same, for we need the effect of this reaction in the system. Little meats, save chicken, fish or broths, with a great amount of green vegetable forces, especially of those that grow ABOVE the ground. Potatoes, either sweet or irish, may be taken in small quantities. Not much stimulant, especially of tea. Do not take tea. Milk, coffee or chocolate, may be taken in moderate quantities.
-
Also add to the body, after these have been taken, the vibrations as are found in the battery formation as has been given, such as would be called in the Radio-Active forces of Carbon, Iron and Water. Follow this. These should be taken at least one hour to two hours each day, following the diet and taking sufficient outdoor exercises, or indoor exercises, as we will keep the body reacting with the properties as are taken internally and through the action of the diet as is given for the body. This, we will find, will bring the normal forces and conditions for this body, [2675].
-
(Q) What is the remedy for the mental hallucination, loss of personality, will, and self-control, latest development of nervous symptoms? (A) The conditions as have been prescribed, especially in battery formation, to produce the equilibrium throughout the whole nerve system and prevent the action of the forces through centralization in affectations of system. Also we would apply those forces as are found in the study of psychological subject forces or matters, see?
-
(Q) Is the new work upon which I am entering on the first, clerk in Internal Revenue Office, compatible with my present mental and physical state, and is it justice to myself and work to continue? (A) These may be made so, for this is rather a state of the mental reaction of the body, which, as we would see, might be reached through the conditions which show those of the compatibility of the body to meet such conditions in its mental and physical forces. Physical forces may be MADE to meet. Mental forces may be brought to that state wherein the reaction would be very good for the body, and to which the body, through its other channels, may acquire that necessary for better mental development.
-
(Q) Should I, in the interest of my present mental and physical condition, discontinue my present plans for the night study of law? (A) No. Continue same, in the moderate way. Do not overtax mental or physical, else we would find the reaction disagreeable both to physical and mental forces, but, as given, the daily labors of physical reaction may be made to react to the studies of law in a manner, and especially in that phase pertaining to commercial laws, as regards the effect of the governmental forces through which the body labors at present has with individuals. In this the entity might become very proficient and successful, see? That is, corporation law or tax law, or commercial law combining both.
-
We are through.

R1. 8/9/25 [2675]‘s letter to EC:
Mr. Edgar Cayce, 322 Grafton Ave., Dayton, Ohio
Dear Mr. Cayce:
I received the reading which you gave me on Aug. 4, as you see. Frankly, I was surprised by the contents. However, I don’t mind surprises; what I am after is results, and if I can get half the satisfaction from it that I got from the first application of the directions given in the previous reading, I shall consider it well worth while.
The illusion to the “Battery Formation” in my copy of the reading is rather vague and indefinite. It reads: “Also add to the body, after these have been taken, the vibrations as are found in the battery formation as HAS BEEN GIVEN. Such as would be called in the Radio-Active forces of Carbon, Iron and Water”. I wondered whether this indefinacy was real - on the part of the reading itself -, or, whether it was an error in incompleteness of the stenographic report. The underscored words would seem to indicate that it was the latter. However, I have taken what was given as a basis, and have written to the Mr. Brown to whom you referred me, as per the inclosed.
In the meantime, thanking you for your cooperation and consideration in trying to help me in this, I am,
Sincerely yours [2675]
R2. 8/9/25 Reply to questionnaire:
(You will please state in the space below how near, in your opinion, reading fits your condition, as you know it yourself, and if you expect to carry out the suggestions made for the improvements of your health.)
Whether the reading is a full and complete diagnosis of my case remains to be seen by trial. However, I consider the disclosures made by it to be very plausible, and very consistent with my symptoms as I have found them to be. I intend to give it a fair trial.
Respectfully, [2675]
R3. 8/13/25 Thomas B. Brown’s letter to [2675]:
The Brookins Manufacturing Company Walter R. Brookins, President Manufacturers of AUTOMOTIVE ACCESSORIES DAYTON . OHIO Mr. [2675] Birmingham, Ala.
My dear Mr. [2675]
I am in receipt of your letter of August 9th, and have to state, that I have been making a battery for the transmitting of electronic vibrations, to the body. I am making some changes, or improvements in the connections and in the method of assembling the battery. The battery is sometimes known as a radio active battery and is composed of carbon, iron, charcoal and etc.
The above described battery is used as an equalizer and I presume that this is the one to which you refer to. The price of the battery is $15.00, and while the new parts are not running through in production as yet, I will be pleased to turn one out by hand for you if you are in a hurry.
Will you kindly advise me if you are in need of this battery and what date you desire same, also if there are anymore questions that you will like to ask relative to the use of this battery.
Very truly yours, [signed] Thos. B. Brown

R4. 8/15/25 [2675]‘s letter to EC:
Mr. Edgar Cayce, Association Of National Investigators, 322 Grafton Ave., Dayton, Ohio
Dear Mr. Cayce:
I have the enclosed from Mr. T. B. Brown in reply to my inquiry concerning the battery to which reference was made in the reading given me on August 4th. I am assuming that this is the battery which was meant, and I am requesting Mr. Brown to ship it to me together with the instructions about how to use it.
Now, I notice upon reexamination of the manuscript that the reading was given at “11.45 Dayton Savings” (10.45 Central Standard) whereas the time specified on the card which was mailed to me was “10 o’clock Central Standard”. I kept the 10 o’clock appointment at … by remaining in my room in as much physical and mental relaxation as possible until 10.30, at 10.45 I ate breakfast, and by 11 o’clock was on my way downtown to report for duty. Was this justice to the reading? Would a reading be satisfactory under these circumstances? You are in a better position to know than I am, and so I thought it proper to call your attention to this variance.
In the meantime I shall follow the directions given as closely as possible, and shall keep you informed about the results.
Sincerely yours, [2675]
R5. 8/22/25 EC’s letter to [2675]:
322 Grafton Avenue, Dayton, Ohio
Mr. [2675] Box …, Birmingham, Ala.
My dear Mr. [2675]
Replying to yours of the 15th, I’m sure, according to the letter from Mr. Brown to you, that this is the battery as referred to in your reading. Mr. Brown, as I understand, has been using something of this same nature for himself, the same being given in a reading for his physical condition. Therefore, he has undertaken to prepare these for all whom may be interested in obtaining this assistance from suggestions given in reading.
As to the variation in the time as you make note of, from my understanding and experience with these, this in itself, in some manner, takes care of the discrepancies in time from one place to another. Many of these points I’m sure you will be able to understand, when you receive our findings as are being recorded by the Association and which we hope to be able to distribute as soon as we are permanently located, and in that way those that are interested may be able to draw closer to the work. We certainly thank you for your interest and we appreciate your study of same, and especially calling our attention to points such as this. I’m in hopes that you will receive your battery real soon and I’m sure you will receive results from same, as other people are doing.
Trusting you’ll let us hear from you from time to time.
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce EC:GD
R6. 8/30/25 [2675]‘s letter to EC:
Mr. Edgar Cayce 322 Grafton Ave., Dayton, Ohio
Dear Mr. Cayce:
You may be interested to know how I am getting along with the suggestions made concerning my health in the reading given me on Aug. 4th. I have finished the course of tablets and have begun on the battery treatment with the instruments recently sent to me by Mr. Brown.
Mr. Brown in sending me the battery together with instructions about how to use it suggests a sixty-day period as sufficient for a fair trial. I assume from this that he anticipates that it will be several days or maybe, several weeks before I may expect to notice any marked improvement. But the prospects are reasonable at that and I shall follow the treatment until I know it has been thoroughly tested. The results from the tablets seem to have been satisfactory; in fact, I believe I notice an improvement already.
I want to thank again for your painstaking efforts to help me also accept inclosed as further contribution to the work you are doing. I regret being unable to make it more at this time.
With best personal regards I am
Sincerely yours [2675]

R7. 10/3/25 EC’s letter to [2675]:
35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va.
Mr. [2675] …, Alabama
Dear Mr. [2675]
Replying to yours of the 30th [Aug.]. I certainly appreciate your writing me as you did. I thank you also for the enclosure, for the work depends upon the assistance our friends are able to lend from time to time. I’m glad to know that you feel some improvement from the first part of the suggestions given and I’m sure before this you are feeling the results from the application of the battery, for we have yet to find the single instance where these have been suggested that it has not given most remarkable results. These, as you no doubt know, are the results of our investigation along this line, and are merely being built by Mr. Brown, for whom, among the first, these applications were prescribed. He has, then, made a scientific study of these and I am sure will in a little while have these perfected and you will want to then exchange the one he has sent you for a complete appliance, and I feel sure he’ll do this for you, for if our theory is correct, this will be something that you will want to keep and you will find it good at most any time that you are not feeling up to par.
As you will note from this, we have changed the base of our operations from Dayton, Ohio, to Virginia Beach, Virginia. Hence the delay in the reply to your letter. I hope you will pardon me for same. We have reasons to believe that this is the place that our work should radiate from, and I am in hopes that sometime in the near future we may begin the work of the institution, which we trust some day, (if it deserves what we think it does) will grow to be one of the largest in the country, for more and more are we getting the more scientific investigators interested in the good we are accomplishing, and when the means are forthcoming we hope to have same very much on the same order as the Rockefellow [Rockefeller] Research Work.
We certainly appreciate your interest in the work and trust that we may have you visit us sometime next summer. As you know, this is rather a famous summer resort.
Again thanking you, and trusting you will let us hear from you wherever plausible.
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce EC:GD
