This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 23rd day of March, 1926, in accordance with request made by self - Mr. [2675].
[Edgar Cayce; Mrs. Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]
Time of Reading 11:25 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Alabama.
-
GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for the relief and improvement of same.
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here. This we have had before.
-
Now, while we find there are some reflexes or evidences of the conditions as have existed in this body that brought the unbalanced condition, we find those at the present time are more of the indiscretions of the entity or body itself, and to gain the better control of self at the present time, we would employ the service of that of the osteopathic forces as applied to the system in the GENERAL manner, and those conditions as exist in the head and throat, especially. These we find will give the better incentives for the bringing about of the correct equilibrium within the body, through all of the conditions as exist, than through medicines or appliances at the PRESENT, for the awakening of certain centers within the cerebro-spinal to their reaction should be brought about.
-
Do that, then. When at least four to six of such THOROUGH treatments have been given, we would then give the changes necessary for the body.
-
Do that, then, at present. We are through.

R1. 3/28/26 Evidently [2675]‘s mother wrote EC a confidential letter about him which was not kept on file, as it cannot be found. GD
R2. 3/30/26 EC’s ltr. to [2675]‘s mother:
My dear Mrs. […]:
I have yours of the 28th, for which I thank you very much indeed. You, no doubt, have read the little pamphlet that I have tried to write, as to why that I have arrived at the conclusions I have regarding the work; anyway, I am sending you one, that you may read it again. You will see, I am sure, from this, that it is just such conditions, such letters, such appeals, from mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers, that have come to me from time to time, that make me feel that I MUST be doing some real good in the world. You know it will be natural for me to feel a deeper interest, if such is possible, in [2675] from your letter. I will certainly write him and I will use whatever tact, power, or influence that I may have to induce him to see his condition. Yes, I realize, from the last short reading that we had, that there are some great hindrances within his own self, yet I feel sure that if I can induce him to tell me about them himself I may be of a great deal more help to him. I will certainly treat your letter as confidential, for I know it is written from the depths of a mother’s love for her boy.
Thanking you, I am
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce

R3. 4/4/26 [2675]‘s ltr. to EC:
Mr. Edgar Cayce Association Of National Investigators, Virginia Beach, Virginia
My dear Friend:
The reading came two hours after my last wire to you. I engaged the best Osteopath in this city to give me the treatments suggested. By the time this reaches you I will have had the six adjustments mentioned, and shall be ready for the supplement to the last reading, which, it was infered would be necessary.
Some weeks ago I had a severe attack of lagrippe - “flu”, they call it down here; - and while I was down with this the old trouble came back, setting up complications which threatened to be serious indeed. This was the meaning of my post-haste request to you.
I get untold benefits from these readings, as evidenced by my repeated requests for them; most of the value being in the instructions about HOW to take the medicine. I believe I told you in the talk that I had with you while you were here that I had been taking podophylin and calomel at various times, and, strangely enough, had diagnosed my trouble, over the protest of my physician, as some form of liver complaint. So it is no wonder that the clearness and completeness with which the case was stated in the first reading and the almost immediate benefits received made a profound impression on ME.
But while all is gotten that is promised in the readings, the medicine seems to loose its effect, and the relief is only temporary. I suppose this is true of any local treatment. I have been hoping that by repetition we would walk up on the PRIMARY, FIRST cause that must be back of all this “functional” trouble. The best physicians, after the most careful examinations have been unable to locate a single organic imperfection. It does seem strange that one of my age, habits, temperament, heredity, etc., should always be troubled with this type of ailment; and it seems more strange that if the trouble is only “functional”, it could produce such far-reaching mischief. That is, it seems strange to the physical eye, and the reasoning mind. But the trouble IS there - that has been proved by these readings -, so the cause must be there. Is it PRIMARILY mental, or PRIMARILY physical? Has temperament any connection? “You are such a bundle of contradictions that you will always be restless, discontented, at war with your environment; you will have to make yourself over temperamentally before you can get anything out of life.” That remark, thrown at me by a character analyst with whom I started a conversation on the train, has been coming back since my experiences with these difficulties. Of course, from our point of view, we are not interested in CAUSES what we are seeking is a remedy; but I merely make these suggestions to illustrate the point that I have in mind. I have been wondering whether a Life Reading would not be more to the point in my case. If you think well of it you might substitute this for the supplement to the one which has already been given, or you might combine the two, as you see fit. Or, perhaps it would be better to follow up the other as suggested, and arrange the Life Reading for some future date.
I shall be at the same address, …, Birmingham, at the hour and date which you name. If it is just as convenient, I should like to have the hour arranged on an evening, a Saturday afternoon, or Sunday morning, as it is very difficult for me to get excused from my work during the next two weeks. I believe you suggested that one should be as free and relaxed as possible at the time these readings are given, and the nature of my duties is such that this is next to impossible while I am at the office.
I read with much interest the little booklet [See 4905-53 Reports] which you were kind enough to mail me. I should like to have any further information from time to time available concerning the progress you are making. If you had done no more than the service you rendered in one case mentioned there, you have been the instrument of great service to humanity. I wish that I were able to contribute materially toward this great work.
Always command me when I can service you in any way, and with best wishes for your own health, happiness, and success, I am
Sincerely yours, [2675]

What are the Universal Forces, or Urges affecting the mental and physical state of the individual, and how may these be so controlled, or the entity be so governed as to make them ONE.
Is the threefold purpose outlined by the individual in line with these Forces, and if not, what changes can and should be made at PRESENT.
