This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 5th day of June, 1929, in accordance with request made by self - Mr. [270].

1. GC: Body and enquiring mind - advise as to the proposition for a transfer to San Francisco. Should he decline this offer and remain in Chicago until the situation is cleared up? or just what?

2. EC: Decline the offer until such a time as conditions, associations and relations are in more accord with those outlines as have been GIVEN the body. This declining will not be a set-back in any sense, but rather will the decline clarify conditions for some who are vitally interested in the conditions that have confronted and that do confront the body’s efforts. We are through.

R1. 6/11/29 He wrote: “Your rdg. of 6/5th was duly rec’d, and while I tried to follow, yet was practically forced to make a decision against the advice as given and my better judgement. So we are leaving about 6/27th for San Francisco. While I dislike for several reasons to go, I have no other recourse. During the past few months I have been confronted with all kinds of opposition, embarrassment and insults, and apparently for no reason except that Mr. [953] has taken an extreme dislike to me. On the other hand I have tried awfully hard to be agreeable, do things right, and to keep my work up in an exemplary manner. This, however, was not at times humanly possible. So, figuratively at least, I have suffered a defeat, and while not entirely unexpected, yet one that I am sure will eventually right itself, but possibly not just as I would like it. Anyway we are accepting these conditions as best we can [my wife and I] in the mental and physical way and will accordingly be obliged to change our residence to S.F., even though I had prayed it would be to the Eastern offices. We will arrive in S.F. on or about 6/30th. Wish you would schedule me for a rdg., say, 7/3rd. I will submit the questions in a day or so. I want to secure a new line-up on things respecting myself out there and, too, if possible, establish some objective that will enable me to return to the middle or Eastern states in a year or so. I had also expected to come East before going West, but it now looks like those at the helm will not even grant me this privilege. In event I did go East I would have seen you, but it now seems like just another defeat.”

R2. 7/3/29 He obtained 270-23 advising that since he had gone against the advice of the reading in accepting the transfer, he should now use his own judgement and make the best of it.
