GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for the improvement of same, and you will answer any questions that I will ask you regarding same.
-
EC: Yes - Now, we find there are some exaggerations of the condition as has already been existent in this body, and that there are other conditions with same that cause distress and disturbance to those about this body at the present time.
-
Those conditions as necessary to bring about the correction of these would be to cut down, or change the food, see? and reduce the temperature, and the eliminations be set up by rubbing spine with Coco-Quinine at least once each day using also, as an inhalant, these properties. These may be used in a croup cup, which would be the most effective, for they will act not only as an antiseptic for the blood supply through the blood in and out through the body as it is inhaled, but will also be taken sufficient to act as an antiseptic through the intestinal system. To the small amount, then as would be placed in cup would be as this:
-
To 4 ounces of grain alcohol, add:
Eucalyptol…20 minims, Benzosol…10 minims, or Creosote (pure)…1 minim, Benzoin…3 minims, Rectified Oil or Turp…2 minims, Tincture of Tolu (in solution)…30 minims, Oil of Juniper…1 minim.
-
Small quantity - full teaspoonful, see? be placed in the cup at the time. Let this be breathed in by the body, see?
-
For the condition as is seen as in the side, or the hernia as is shown here, well that this be kept bandaged and greased with Iodex, or any property that reduces soreness across the abdomen and various portions of the body, as is shown from the condition existent. Do that. Ready for questions.
-
(Q) What amount of food should be taken at a time, and how often? (A) Cut the quantity in half of that as has been given, and give about half the number of times as has been feeding, see? until the conditions are reduced.
Well that enemas be used of lukewarm water, but not sufficient should these be taken as to cause the distress of the hernia condition, see? Well that lower intestines, though, be cleansed. This will reduce temperature also, you see.
Inhalations should be taken whenever necessary, see? at least once - twice each day, or in evenings, if more than one is necessary, see?
The massage or the rubs with the Coco-Quinine - cocoa butter - over the spinal system, should be at least once each day - well rubbed in, see? Massage about the hernia, and those portions of the system that show those abrasions at present, with the Iodex, about twice each day, and especially after a movement or action from the bowels, see? that we may reduce the temperature and inflammation. Do that.
-
That is all the questions.
-
We are through for the present.
Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 9/19/26 Traveling salesman father [779]‘s letter: “I had letter from wife [780] saying that she had asked for reading for [318] and that she was expecting to hear from you at any time. She said that he had some kind of breaking out which caused him to be swollen quite a bit, also he had been having some pretty bad sores.”
R2. 10/29/26 Father [779]‘s letter: “[318] is outgrowing anything I ever saw, very strong and well in every way, with the exception of the hernia, but we are still in hopes this will in time correct itself.”
R3. 11/28/26 Mother [780]‘s letter: “I received the reading for little [318], and I think everything was as you had said, he just did fine and has been ever since. Dr. Nona Grapes, neuropath, has been treating him for his hernia, I thought one time it was doing fine, but for the last two weeks it has been down a great deal. She has often wondered if she was treating him like she should. [318] has been walking everywhere for about three weeks, and trying to talk, he has four teeth, and is so sweet and smart, wish you could see him.”
R4. 12/8/26 EC’s letter: “I’m sorry he’s still having trouble with that hernia, but I believe those treatments and the wearing of that truss should eventually make him overcome this, without the operation. I certainly am hoping so anyway. I know you realize that the biggest factor is his diet and attention to his bowels, and one in his condition, age, activities and development, it’s one of the hardest things to deal with - but I’m in hopes it works out alright.”
R5. 4/14/27 Father [779]‘s letter: “[318] has not been so well. He is now cutting his … teeth, so it kinda tore his little self up. He is very strong and large for his age.” [Subsequent letters from his father were received as follows:]
R6. 8/7/27 “[318] is growing very fast and we think he is so bright. His hernia condition has not gotten any better but gets rather large at times; since he has gotten to run and jump about it is hard to control, so many people have told us of such cases where as they grow older it will heal, we think when he gets old enough to help keep it up, will do as much to help as anything.”
R7. 8/29/27 “I am thankful to you for your thought of sometime to take a reading on the condition of [318]. I am sure it will not hurt, and maybe some way the condition can be checked. I sure hope so anyway. I don’t see how he can be as good as he is with the condition, because I have talked to grown people who are troubled the same way and they tell me it is very painful at times. So at some spare time we will go over the case, and you can arrange questions to cover the case as to how we can make a bandage to keep it up.”
R8. 10/9/27 “[318] is as well and strong as he can be, with the exception of the hernia at times, we will give this a little more time to see if the condition will better itself as he is now getting where he can aid in controlling same.”
R9. 1/3/28 “[318] has had a very bad cold for several days, for two nights he had a pretty hard time with the croup. We watched him pretty close so to note any symptoms of pneumonia, if he had we would very soon gotten in touch with you, but at present we have the cold under control.”
R10. 4/13/30 “[318] has the measles.”
R11. 3/8/31 “Somehow our boy [318] has always had in his mind that he would go to the Beach and go to the Cayce Hospital and get well from his trouble since baby, but he now says he can’t go to the hospital and get well.” Cayce Hospital was closed last month.]
R12. 5/22/32 “[318] is just fine - has grown quite a bit - a real boy. He still has that rupture condition, and still wears diapers to support him. He never complains of the condition. He is large enough now to aid himself in keeping it up. He was old enough to start school the first of the year, but would not start him till the beginning of the next term.”
R13. 2/12/33 “I want to get a reading for [318]. I want to get him filled out. He is shedding his teeth now too, but I think he is rather thin; also I will want to know as to his rupture condition. Maybe that he will have an operation to cure it. It doesn’t give him any trouble other than having to wear very tight diaper to support him, which is very uncomfortable and, too, he doesn’t think he is a baby any longer.”
