Background) This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 21st day of February, 1931, in accordance with request made by self - Miss [369].

1. GC: You will have before you the body and the enquiring mind of [369], present in this room. You will give a check-up life reading for this body, with special reference to associations in the present, the reasons for same, and just what should be the body’s procedure in regard to these at the present. You will answer the questions which she will ask.

2. EC: We have the body, the enquiring mind, [369], in this room; also those associations and relations, and individual entities with whom the body has been associated.

3. In the physical forces we find conditions on the improve. These, as we find, will need some special attention in the early portion of the present summer, and precautions should be taken as regarding the returning of those conditions with digestive forces, as well as the blood supply. It would be well that a character of tonic be taken in the near future, that would STRENGTHEN the vitality of the system. Those, as we would find, in iron, quinine, wine - not too much, but sufficient that the incentives and the functioning of the organs as related TO the blood supply be kept clean.

4. In relationships with individuals, and the why - there are many whom the entity has contacted in the present, that their relationships have been in the various experiences through which there were either developments or retardings, owing to the applications of self as respecting such relationships; and each entity, then, has those conditions, those experiences, to be worked out in their various experiences, gathering from those relationships those conditions that make for the development within the soul itself. Ready for questions.

5. (Q) In which previous incarnations, and in what relationship, was the entity associated with the one who means so much to her in the present? (A) In Egypt; related as the husband after the exile, after the changes came about. To this entity the body turned, leaned upon, meant much - yet destroyed much in the relationships with many during the experience. These should be builded and met in the present in much the relationships as dependent one upon the other during that experience; yet those conditions as mean for the relationships should be, WILL be - will they be followed [if they will be followed] - for the DEVELOPING for each in the present relationships; for the dependence one upon the other is stayed. [staid - fixed?] [stayed - as in Isa. 26:3?]

6. (Q) Was there another association - different period? (A) Only partial; that is, as a passing experience.

7. (Q) Would it be for the best development for both for this association to continue, or to end at once? (A) As just given, better for it to continue - for the DEVELOPMENT of each.

8. (Q) If it should continue, for how long? and what will be gained by it? (A) For the strength upon each one will be dependent more and more upon the other.

9. (Q) Has her contact been a development for him? If so, how? (A) For both, in the relationships that have made for the mental, and spiritual, or SOUL development of each.

10. (Q) If she chooses to continue putting forth her best efforts to accomplish that desired, would the result be in keeping with that desired? (A) If the desire is in keeping with the divine laws. So long as these are in keeping with those that make for soul development, rather than for gratification of secular or physical forces, these will be developed. When only for gratification of desire as related to those of earthly forces, and of bodily forces in self or in another, these CANNOT bring other than destructive forces.

11. (Q) What portion of the relationship should be stressed to make for a more complete understanding between them? (A) The soul development, as the relationships - and the dependence one upon another.

12. (Q) How could she cause him to continue to realize the depth of her feeling for him? (A) Stressing those of the INNER forces, rather than those of material forces.

13. (Q) What reason could she give to him for change in decision about continuing to see him? (A) That of the dependence, or the needs one for another.

14. (Q) Any further advice to the body on any phase of her life? (A) Keep the body, mentally, physically, spiritually, fit; for the kingdom lies within - and do not bar ANY from that soul’s development, that may be an opportunity for a development of self.

R1. 6/6/31 She wrote of her friend driving her to the station, and surgery to be performed in N.Y. hospital on 6/9/31 to correct eye cast condition: “He does mean so much to me - there’s no need denying. Whether it’s because he really does or whether it’s because I have so little opportunity to be thrown with others, I can’t say truthfully… I felt like jumping out and running as the car brought me in tonight, but one doesn’t - when you’ve gone this far… He [G…] would say I was indulging in self-pity - a luxury - as he calls it. But who cares? In years to come I’ll be so strong I won’t have to depend on anyone.”
