This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Virginia, this 8th day of March, 1926, in accordance with request made by self - Miss [3788]. EC volunteered this information (without suggestion being given to obtain it), immediately following a second Physical Rdg. for Mr. [4212] and after the suggestion was given for a check physical for Mr. [304], but in locating Mr. [304] this information was volunteered for Miss [3788]. (Miss [3788] and Mr. [304] lived in the same town.)
[Edgar Cayce, Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]
Time of Reading 4:15 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Ky.
- EC: For this condition here, [3788], we would order these properties from Five Point Drug Store, Birmingham, Alabama. They will be able to obtain same from there. [GD’s note: Maypop Bitters was no longer available to purchase, so EC gave the formula. See detailed formula given 11/10/30 under 543-5.]
Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 3/9/26 EC’s ltr.: “I am in receipt of your of the 5th. I find, upon investigation, that I was in error in telling you who was the manufacturer of this Maypop. I find John B. Daniels, Atlanta, Ga., is the manufacturer, or you may obtain same from the Five Points Drug Store in Birmingham, Ala.
“Hoping this will prevent any further delay in your getting the proper ingredients, I am” Sincerely, Edgar Cayce [EC:GD]
[GD’s note: I doubt that above short volunteered rdg. [3788-2] was sent to Miss [3788]; probably just EC’s letter giving her the information.]
R2. 4/19/26 Mr. [304]‘s ltr.: “I haven’t talked to Miss [3788]‘s father, but just from what his brother said and the way he talked about what had been done, I have my doubts about his carrying out the treatment. You may imagine what encouragement he received from Sargent [Andrew Sargent, D.C.] when he went to him and told him what he had and what he wanted, and really I doubt now whether he got the adjustments from him. Of course I don’t know, but doubt it… I really and truly doubt his getting any encouragement from Sargent and believe he just laid down on the proposition.”
R3. 7/60 Dr. Walter N. Pahnke’s notes on Case [3788] in making a survey of 96 cases of epilepsy from the Edgar Cayce records:
“This case was classified in group 2. The only history given was that the condition was ‘something like epilepsy.’ There was no follow-up.”
