This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Milton W. Harrison, 56 Highland Circle, Bronxville, New York, this 28th day of April, 1941, in accordance with request made by those present, through Mrs. Louise B. Chisholm, Active Member of the Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc, Virginia Beach, Va.

Time of Reading 7:00 to 7:30 P. M. Daylight Savings Time.

1. GC: In the light of the information given through this channel this morning, April 28, 1941, [for Mrs. [2550]] regarding astrological aspects for the next two weeks, and our desire to use this for the good of all, you will please advise us as to the character of changes to take place and how we may constructively meet them. You will then answer the questions, as I ask them.

2. EC: Yes, we have the information that has been indicated through these channels regarding astrological influences and their effect upon the future thought of each soul now manifesting in the earth.

3. As is understood by many, in the earth manifestation and the cycle of time much repeats itself; and those in authority, in high and low places, have the opportunity for individual expression - that wields an influence upon those who are directed in body, mind or thought or spirit by the activities of those manifesting in the earth.

4. As to those experiences paralleling the cycle of astrological activity now, - beginning on the morrow, - there will be the Sun, the Moon, Jupiter, Uranus and Venus all in the one sign.

5. When last this occurred, as indicated, the earth throughout was in turmoil, in strife.

6. There are still influences indicated in the lives of groups banded as nations, banded as peoples, still influenced by those happenings.

7. What then, ye ask, is the influence that makes for this great change that may be expected?

8. The powers of light and darkness, as then, as sixteen hundred (1600) years before. As in those periods, so today, - we find nation against nation; the powers of death, destruction, the wrecking of that which has been and is held near and dear to the hearts of those who have through one form or another set ideals.

9. These are not to be questioned, in that as may be a helpful force; but what is coming to pass? and how may ye as individuals help?

10. As indicated in that given, to each it will become a personal thing, a personal condition. Thus it will require, - yea, demand, - that there be an expression on the part of each as to that given thirty-two hundred (3200) years ago: “Declare ye today WHOM ye will serve! As for me and my house, we will serve the living God.”

11. If there is sufficient, then, of those that will not only declare this in mind and in purpose but by deed and word of mouth, there may come then an enlightening through that which has been promised of old; that the young men shall dream dreams, the old men shall have visions, the daughters or maidens may know the spirit of truth, - yea, that all may come to the greater knowledge of the indwelling of the Prince of Peace.

12. Strifes will arise through the period. Watch for them near Davis Strait in the attempts there for the keeping of the life line to a land open. Watch for them in Libya and in Egypt, in Ankara and in Syria, through the straits about those areas above Australia, in the Indian Ocean and the Persian Gulf. 13. Ye say that these are of the sea; yes, - for there shall the breaking up be, until there are those in every land that shall say that this or that shows the hand of divine interference, or that it is nature taking a hand, or that it is the natural consequence of good judgments.

14. But in all of these, let each declare Whom ye will serve: a nation, a man, a state, or thy God?

15. For to Him ye must look for comfort that ye know that comes. All that is of a temporal nature, this - too must pass away; yet there remains the comfort for those who declare themselves, “Let others do as they may, but as for me, I will serve the living God.”

16. In the period, too, there will be the breaking of agreements, the declaring of stands by groups will be known, and bring - to some - consternation.

17. But FEAR NOT ye that influence that may destroy the body.

Rather give praise and glory to Him who may SAVE BOTH body AND soul to everlasting joy.

18. Let thy prayer then be:

19. LORD, HERE AM I! USE ME IN THE WAY, IN THE MANNER THOU SEEST FIT; THAT I MAY EVER BE THAT THOU HAST PURPOSED FOR ME TO BE - A LIGHT SHINING AS IN DARKNESS TO THOSE WHO HAVE LOST HOPE, FROM ONE CAUSE OR ANOTHER.

20. Ready for questions.

21. (Q) Is it indicated that America will enter the war during this two weeks? (A) There may be committed those aggressivenesses that may cause the leading to the breaking up of that determination which has been set, that may come about during this period; but not a declaration in the period.

As we have indicated, more may come as disturbance to America from within than from without.

22. (Q) Will serious civil strife in the United States result, and how soon, and of what nature? (A) As we have indicated through these channels before, this depends upon whether or not those who have seen the light, those who understand the situations between labor and capital, the employee and the employer, pray and live consistent one with the other.

As to how soon, this - too - may be determined by the happenings in the next two weeks; but as to the breaking up, this will depend on conditions, on developments farther along.

23. (Q) What can we do to counteract such serious happenings? (A) Make known the trouble - WHERE IT LIES; THAT THEY WHO HAVE FORGOTTEN GOD MUST RIGHT ABOUT FACE!

24. (Q) How can Milton W. Harrison be helpful, through his series of conferences? (A) By the awareness of the disturbances, that God must not be left out of the purposes of men! For, as indicated, point to the happenings as divine direction.

25. (Q) Or have you other suggestions? (A) Read that indicated. Let each and every soul call on not their God but the ONE God!

R1. 9/14/69 Letter to HLC [In re 3976-26, Par. 12]: “I wrote to you several months ago about the importance of the Davis Straits, which was one of your father’s predictions: “Strifes will arise throughout the period. Watch for them near the Davis Straits, where there will be attempts to keep open a life line to a land.”

Enclosed is an article from the N.Y. Times which shows that already there is trouble over the N.W. Passage, a route which includes the Davis Straits. Although the Straits will become a life line for America, especially to bring oil from Alaska to the U.S., it seems that the Canadians are going to cause problems for us.

Another prophecy which has just come true concerns the new revolutionary government in Libya: “Strifes will arise throughout the period. Watch for them in Libya and in Egypt, and in Syria…” (3976-26; April 28, 1941) “In the near future, Libya will probably join the other Arab countries in the war with Israel.”

Your father’s predictions are coming true very quickly at the present time.

R2. 5/25/78 GD’s recapping of background for the 3976-26 reading on World Affairs, especially the prayer given for all to use during such troublous times.

In April of 1941 Edgar, Gertrude and Gladys were spending two weeks in N.Y. as guests of Mr. and Mrs. Milton W. Harrison (Mr. H. was current President of A.R.E.). Appointments had been made ahead of time for readings.

4/28/41 A.M. Life Reading 2550-1 said that from April 29th to May 12th astrological aspects would be so active in the affairs of man that every soul in the earth at present would think differently:

2550-1 ”…Will have varied urges from the happenings as will come to pass in the next two weeks. Not merely because of the unusual astrological aspects, but more because each entity through its awareness in physical consciousness, in cosmic consciousness, has come in the environ of the ruling forces…that are to be so active in the affairs of man in his relationships one to another during this period…

“…with the knowledge of the needs for that hope, that patience, that ability to pray, that ability to open self to the awareness of the needs of man - WHAT WILL YE DO as an individual - with the knowledge of such things?

”…Will ye leave this to others? or will ye, as a soldier of the Cross, do thy part?” 2550-1

4/28/41 P.M. We obtained a special reading to advise us as to the character of changes to take place and how we might constructively meet them:
