This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 19th day of June, 1928, in accordance with wire request made by her husband, Mr. [1629]

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mr. L. B. Cayce.]

Time of Reading 3:40 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Alabama.

  1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body.

  2. EC: Yes, we have the body and those conditions as surround same - [4434].

  3. Now, we find conditions are serious with the physical forces of this body. These have to do with the separation of the serum of the body within self, without being in any manner save partially eliminated through nominal channels. Hence there is that condition brought about of exceeding nausea, with swelling, temperature, and such resultant conditions. These have only responded in part to those things administered for the relief, and the giving of sedatives do not bring changes with the conditions.

  4. These may be added - and with the body responding to this - we would find relief and better conditions coming to the body.

  5. In the region of the liver, and the action of the juices of stomach and serums of the body, this causes this disturbance - see? So in this region (right side, here, you see, near the 9th dorsal and extending around the right side, to near the lower portion of the umbilicus) we would apply those properties of the HEATED castor oil packs, changing these every twenty to twenty-five minutes - see?

  6. Massage into the system from the lower portion of the 10th dorsal to the lumbar that of equal parts of olive oil, tincture of myrrh and sassafras oil. Heat the oil and add the myrrh and the sassafras oil. Only prepare sufficient to use at each application, which should be used at least once - possible twice - each day, see? Then may be given morning and evening.

  7. Do this. We will reduce temperature, reduce swelling, and start nominal eliminations in the direction of separating serums in system.

  8. Use as enema (after the body is some better), to reduce temperature, cool or tepid water, to which there is added teaspoonful of Glyco-Thymoline to each half gallon of water; or better still the pure olive may be used as an enema, or Nujol, or Usoline, using a pint - at least - at such an enema, see?

  9. Do that, and if the body responds such as to bring ease to the body in two or three days we would give further instructions for the body.

  10. Give stimulants as the diet. Those preferably carrying those of some form of a stimulant to the circulation, either that as would be found in wine, champagne, or such; not too sweet, nor too sour.

  11. Do that at present. We are through for the present.
