This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 18th day of December, 1926, in accordance with request made by the self, through Mrs. [4329].

Time of Reading 4:50 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Ohio.

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for the improvement of same.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here. We have had this before, you see. In this we find many conditions that are greatly improved from those as we have had before, and while there are accentuations in the system, the greater portion of this arises, as we see, from indiscretions through the actions and the attentions to self as respecting keeping the eliminations in the system, and most of this produced by neglect in the body attending to those conditions as were outlined, and in the indiscretions in overtaxing mentally, physically, and by lack of the attention to the applications for the body. Then, we have both omission and commission committed by entity itself. Would the entity find the better physical forces, both consistency and persistency must be applied along and with those channels as have been outlined, for these will bring the more normal conditions for this body, would the body keep in that way. This does not necessarily mean that the body is to wear the applicator or attend to those physical applications for the rest of the life! But we must give the physical forces sufficient time to adjust themselves, for the body in its abnormal functioning has brought on distresses in the system that are not easily overcome. Hence discretion must be used. We would do that.

R1. 12/27/26 Sister [4329]‘s letter: ”…We were very glad to receive Mrs. [4848]‘s reading a few days ago. It was taken about the time she was first taken down with flu - but not at her worst. It is a little hard for her to admit the truth conveyed in the reading because, for herself, she thinks more of ‘remedies’ than ‘prevention’. She doesn’t realize that she is ever indiscreet. I am glad that you saw the truth and told it! She has been very ill the past week. She will follow your former advice. I have prepared the herb prescription and she will take a few osteopathic treatments to assist nature still further, and continue wearing the solar Radium] pad. Nor is this all. Her absolute faith and confidence in you will continue also!…”

R2. 1/10/27 Sister [4329]‘s letter: ”…I am sorry that I could not answer your favor of the 1st sooner. Sister [4848] continues poorly, but is able to be about the house some now; is having a ‘hard pull’ - is so dizzy and weak - therefore gets badly discouraged. She is taking osteopathic treatments and following your other advice…”

R3. 1/27/27 Sister [4329]‘s letter: ”…We are so sorry to report that sister [4848]‘s case has been most obstinate. She was able to be about some when she began using your medicine, recently made up. Before two weeks were up she had to take to her bed again - had more head distresses, extremely dizzy, no appetite, and a very weak heart. Also stomach and intestinal disturbances. Sometimes four or five heart tablets had to be taken during the night. She often says that she believes she would ‘slip away’ if she made no resistance. It was a problem! Your dates were filled to far in advance - and her local doctor is in Florida. There seemed nothing else to do but discontinue the medicine. Please don’t feel disheartened - it is not in my heart to criticize or misjudge, so that is not my intention. After studying her symptoms I am inclined to think that the medicine stirred up the toxins in her system more than her heart and weakened condition could stand. Evidence of this is that she began to have small boils on her body - but when strong enough to withstand the ‘housecleaning’, I am sure it is what she needs, as she is FULL of poisons. She is now up and goes to the table for meals but gains little headway. The prostrated state of her nerves always makes recovery slow when she gets down like at present. She is taking one osteopathic treatment a week and wears the solar Radium] pad faithfully. Her faith in you continues - and often she remarks that she wishes this or that person would have a reading!…”

R4. 3/20/27 Sister [4329]‘s letter: ”…May my sister [4848] have the reading date March 31st as set for me? She is not doing well at all and I would like for you to try again and see if MORE of the truth about her serious condition cannot be revealed. I fail to see how she can ever ‘pull through’ another year unless helped - she is so frail and miserable. She eats and sleeps little - it’s a struggle to keep up and about as much as she does. Following are some questions which I am taking on myself to ask: [See questions included in 4848-4.]…”

“Innumerable doctors have found no remedy for these symptoms

• can you find it?… Is the colon ‘twisted’ or are there adhesions causing her distresses?… You will see, there may be answers not best for Mrs. [4848] to know. Sure hope you can help her. We pray for it…”
