1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time, giving the cause of the existing conditions; also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, and we find there are those specific conditions as are causing distresses in the physical forces of the body. The greater distress is in the nerve system, yet the effects of these conditions are numerous.

3. These, then, are the conditions as we find them with this body, [4859], we are speaking of:

IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this we find low in vitality, and little resistive energy is stored in the system, for the body uses nearly all the energy as is generated, as it were, in the body from day to day, and there are often times when the body finds that there is scarcely sufficient resistance and energy to keep going.

5. These conditions in blood supply and in the nerve system are produced from two specific conditions:

The first in the last lumbar center, for here we find in times back the body received an injury which has produced circular lesions that bring about many distresses to the body, and often the whole of the mesenteric system has the appearance, or feeling, as if it was too weighty for the body, and often the feet and lower limbs are very heavy, and feel as if they would swell; yet very seldom does this occur, though there is the fullness felt in the lower extremities.

7. The same reflections through the nerves in the sympathetic system, and in the cerebro-spinal, show that again the lesion is in the upper cervical, where the body attempting, as it were, to relieve the nerve strain as is placed by the weighty portion of the body proper on the nerves in the lower portion, has gone about to produce a cushion, as it were, for the action of nerve reflexes. Hence we find there is produced that condition in which MANY have said, unless a change, there would be a reaction to brain forces, for hallucinations would be brought about. Not true.

8. Relieve the pressure as is seen in these centers - the lumbar and the sacral, and in the cervical regions - and we will find the body will be relaxed, able to sleep, able to digest the foods as are taken for the system, and to bring about the general recuperation of the whole forces of the body.

9. These would only be acquired, as we see, through deep OSTEOPATHIC manipulation. Not merely ADJUSTMENTS, but that relieving of tension throughout the whole cerebro-spinal nerve system; and after at least six or eight (6 or 8) such adjustments have been made, apply those vibrations from the Double X Radium Appliance, that the nerve system may be rejuvenated and the blood supply strained, or given new energy, as it were, in elimination and assimilation.

10. Wear the pad across the solar plexus center, for the radiation of the system, centrally, is through these portions. This may be occasionally lain across the eyes or head for a MINUTE - not more at a period - as the body rests.

11. With twenty-six (26) such adjustments and manipulations there should be brought about the better physical forces, and with the continuation of the pad and its radiation for six to eight (6 to 8) weeks, should bring NORMAL forces for this body. Do that.

Dear Mr. Cayce:-

Rec’d your reading requested by my wife day or so ago and am enclosing your form requested.

You mention the Radium appliance also the osteopath treatment both which I will try out as have written the appliance co. for price on the pad. I am now taking, and have been for two months the Ionoco. Electric. Guess you know about it, has helped me quite a lot but am so easily exhausted. I wondered if this would take the place of the Radium appliance. Two years ago I tried this same appliance you spoke of, for a few days only as it was in July and the weather was so hot and it made me so hot to wear it I discontinued it and did not give it a fair trial. I also about 10 yr ago took osteopathy for 4 months. Helped me some but not a cure. You speak of in your reading about a injury way back causing my trouble. Have thought maybe my trouble was caused by a fall I got when about 18 yrs of age from a tree, but my trouble did not begin until I was about 34 yrs of age. This fall hurt my back at times and for a year could hardly raise up, and has always been kind of weak. I am also troubled much from priapism, which has troubled me every night for 14 yrs - which you know greatly disturbs my sleep, have never had anything to do this any good. Have spent a fortune trying to get well and am almost a financial wreck as well as otherwise. It is inconvenient for me to take the osteopath treatments as now in my town but will hunt up one when I hear from the appliance co. Dear Mr. [4859]:-

Thank you for your report of the 18th.

Now its mighty hard for me to say, Mr. [4859], whether the Radium Pad would take the place of the electric treatments

• but from my experience, if you will take the osteopathic adjustments, and wear the Radium Pad, you WILL get results better than you have had heretofore. At least I can assure you of one thing: If you don’t, we will find out WHY! I had never heard of the Radium Appliance, until one was suggested in the readings for the first time. But several times they have been suggested since then, and most always WITH osteopathy - and I have been told by the research department of the Appliance company - or the doctors who are in charge of same - that they have found that where I had suggested the pad AND osteopathy, they had gotten the most marvelous results - so I’m sure you’re going to do the same thing.

I suspect the fall that you speak of - that is spoken of in the reading - is the real beginning of your trouble. The effect of injuries are oftentimes not felt until years afterward. I feel this must be the case with you.

I certainly hope now you’re going to let us hear from you from time to time, for we assure you it is our desire to be of help, and if you will let us hear from you - if you are not getting results - we will find out WHY!

I certainly am in hopes you will be able to locate a first class osteopath. Possibly it would be well for you to get in touch with a Dr. Davis [Dabney L. Davis], an osteopath, of Terrell, Texas.

R6. 7/12/27 EC’s letter: “Regarding yours of June 11th, I’m glad to know the Mr. [4859] of …, Texas, has ordered one of the pads. I don’t know whether your files show it or not, or whether it was some other pad that Mr. [4859] tried out a couple of years ago with no results. Possibly it will be interesting to look this up and see just what results he gets this time. According to our information, Mr. [4859] has anemia and some other complications.”

Dear Mr. Cayce:-

If you remember you gave me a reading in May last and suggested that I take osteopathic treatments 6 or 8 and begin the use of Radium Solar Pad Double X. I have taken 23 osteopath treatments beginning about 1st of June and have been using the Pad that long. You said take 26 treatments from the osteopath but was so inconvenient have not taken but 23. Also so expensive. The Pad also cost me 30.00. Altogether have been out 150.00 or more. Am using the Pad constantly and will continue unless you advise otherwise. I am some better but far from normal.

You wrote me you thought in 6 or 8 weeks would be normal, and if not you would find out the reason why. When I first began this treatment for 10 days or more I though would fix me up but often that did not improve much. I did not expect to be well in that time for have been 18 years getting this way.

Am getting discouraged as seems cannot gain anymore now. What would you suggest? You evidently saw my trouble in your reading as you said the distress was in the nervous system. I am still distressed much, so many ways. Unfit for business or pleasure. Tell me what else to do. Have spent a fortune trying to get well. I shall continue the use of the Pad until I hear from you.
