This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 W. 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 11th day of November, 1925, in accordance with request made by Mr. M. B. Wyrick.

Time of Reading Bosque County, 3:15 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. Texas.

1. GC: You will give us the conditions of operations at the present time, giving any information that will assist the operators in making this a producing well. You will also answer any questions I might ask you regarding these operations.

2. EC: Yes, we have the operations on well here. These we have had before. There is at the present time some trouble with those conditions that surround the operations, produced by that condition as exists in the operations themselves and those conditions regarding the financing of the completion of operations, with the troubles in the cavings and with the lines.

3. Now, we find the depths have reached to that of where the larger showing of the oil and gas, at the fifty-nine eighty-nine depth (5989), and this would soon bring the flow sufficient, with the removing of these obstructions, the flow that will bring the large increase in the production, for this will in the next few feet break in larger gas pockets. While that flow has caused much of present troubles, this will be overcome when the straight pressure does not bring the cavings on this North side, see?

4. So, we would clear these obstructions, repairing the lines, and continue in the operations, for only seven (7) more feet should bring this larger production and sufficient to be, with the increasing of same, that as has been given, see? Ready for questions.

5. (Q) What are the obstructions in the hole? (A) Cavings, rocks, lime, sand, gravel, and the catch on line, as given, see? with tools. Bucket line has given trouble.

6. (Q) Is there anything of which the operators should be warned regarding any of the rest of the tools? (A) Only those conditions surrounding operations, as have been given for same. This will produce when brought in here, see?

Dear Mr. Wyrick:-

I’m enclosing you, herewith, the reading as gotten this afternoon. I’m certainly very much in hopes that by the time or before you have gotten this, that all your trouble will be straightened out, and that you will have the well. It seems to me, from this, it certainly must be narrowing down to a mighty short space before production. I certainly hope that it comes in BIG! We are all very much on the anxious seat, but we are very glad that you feel that you’re keeping physically fit and on the improve a little bit. I’m sure it has had all of you there on your tip-toes for some time. I had hoped that at least today would see this well in, for today five years ago, we shot our well in Texas, and many of my hopes were at a high pitch, though I realized they had never done just what they were told to in that operation [[3777] (?)].

Glad to say we are all pretty well here. Hoping to have the best of news from you real soon, and with kindest personal regards from all,

R2. 11/14/25 EC’s letter to Riley Hurst:

115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va.

Dear Riley:-

Just a little line to let you hear from us again. I was glad to have yours sometime ago but have been extremely busy and nothing especially interesting to write you about. Yes, I am in hopes that the change will make things better for me. I think I can stand it. I had some correspondence some days ago - some people wanted to know something about what I knew about Rocky Pasture [[3777] - [5628]]. Some more people I think have been in there looking over the territory with the view to drilling a well somewhere in that part of the world. I’m in hopes that they’ll make a go of it. No doubt you hear of it and whatever information you get I’d be glad if you’d pass it along, for that’s a tender place in my heart and I am in hopes that I will yet live to see the day that there is a hole drilled there to twenty-six hundred feet.

Our people are still working on that hole [[4905] series] in Texas and I guess its one of the deepest ones ever drilled in the United States. By far the deepest ever drilled in Texas. Its about six thousand feet deep now, or better. Certainly take some pressure to bring that to the top - but I believe they’re going to get it.

No, I don’t think you need worry so much about the folks settling down. You’ll see the time when things will be changed around considerably, and its going to behoove you to be in the right sort of position to do the right thing when that time comes. Maybe you feel like at the present time you’re going through a lot of unsatisfactory trials and tribulations, yet I don’t think there is any doubt but what each and every trial prepares us for something else that will make us all the better, if we’ll only gain our lesson properly, and I’m sure that you will see and realize that things will be all the better for having had to undergo these trials that you’ve had. That’s seemingly poor consolation to a fellow at times, and perhaps something a great deal easier to preach than to practise; yet I believe I am speaking as much or more from actual experience than I am from merely the idea of a precept, for though I have not reached that place that nothing worries and everything is satisfactory, still I can see where some of the trials through which I have passed, and of which you know a great deal about, has fitted me very much better for the conditions that arise at the present time.

I hope we are yet going to have the opportunity to try that thing out in Arkansas [See [3982] series, re Arkansas buried treasure]. Hugh Lynn (I believe you remember him) has been very much exercised about this ever since the first information we had on it. Of course he’s grown to be a great big boy now. He’s eighteen, nearly nineteen years old, and is large in stature as I am. I think he’d like mighty well to help try that thing out, and should you all decide to go down there this Spring or Summer, why we’ll be mighty glad to lend whatever assistance it may be possible to help you get the right line on it. I don’t understand just where the thing was in error the last time, but I’m sure it is there and that it can be gotten, and I believe you’re the man to get it, else it never would have said, when first given, “Give this information to Riley Hurst.” True, this may be a test for your own confidence and good faith, yet I’m sure that you would not be found wanting in this respect, from your own past experiences - even though this was a failure on your last trip there.

I understand that there is liable to be a great deal of activity in Texas this year - this next year I should say. Perhaps more money will be spent in attempting to locate new fields than there has been spent in Texas in a long time. I’m certainly in hopes that you get in on something that’s real good and make a whole heap of money for yourself.

R3. 11/15/25 Mr. Wyrick’s letter to EC:

TELEGRAM OIL COMPANY (Letterhead) MORGAN, TEXAS

Dear Cayce

Your letter and reading of 11 received to day and very glad to hear from you. The reading checks very closely with conditions as they are. We were shut down when you gave the reading waiting for fuel oil. It was received and drilling resumed Thursday. They cleaned hole and gone on bottom Friday have made only two or three feet since starting up so according to the reading we have only four or five feet more to go. We are 35 feet in Black lime well saturated with oil. Moran our old driller is very confident we will get production under this formation. It is so hard and cavings bother so they make only a foot and sometimes less to the tour. Every one that sees the formation and are content to judge say we will sure get a big well. We are now having enquiries about acreage and some offers of 10 per acre for some of the outlying acreage. Moran told me that if he owned [[Well Shaft (Pyramid)|the well]] he would not take 100,000 for just this one hole. He has been very conservative all along. Only since he picked up the black lime has he been at all excited. So the prospects or best that have been. Your readings have been a great help to all lends encouragement when most needed to the investor and operator alike.
