This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 19th day of November, 1925. Involuntary Reading, came without being requested, volunteered at end of two reading period, physical for Miss [4531] and dream interpretation for Mr. [137].

Time of Reading 2:30 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. Bosque County, Texas.

1. EC: Now, we have the conditions regarding the operations on the lands of Madison Byron Wyrick, Bosque County, Texas. There, we find, has been some delay in the operations, produced by conditions in hole. The depths and formations show the surety of the success, when carried through this present formation into the sands - the seven (7) feet, see? These should be reached now in the next forty-eight to ninety-six (48 to 96) hours, see, of operation.

2. Keep the same morale as has been exhibited in these for the last ten (10) days, see? The success will come to the efforts of all concerned. Then use same aright when these are given, knowing that from Him, the Giver, and all good gifts come from Him, are but the talents in the hands of those who would manifest Him in the earth.

3. We are through for the present.

Dear Dr. House:-

I was very glad to have yours of the 16th, and you know that it has always been my desire that we might at some time be associated in this work, provided everything was satisfactory to everyone. I am sorry that things are unsatisfactory with you there, though I realize you have been under quite a strain and working at a disadvantage for quite a while, and I wish that I could say right off the reel that this was the time and the opportunity for us to get together and begin the work in the way that would be entirely satisfactory to all, but I’m sure you have long realized the position under which I have been struggling. So, I believe it will be necessary, then, for me to try and outline my position and the prospects for the future development of the Institute Work, also of the medicinal properties that might be manufactured under the Ipsab corporation, and which, as I told you when talking to you, would be very necessary when such was begun to have a laboratory under the supervision of a medical man to make many experiments for the organization.

First, we are not very much nearer the beginning of the work of the Ipsab, or manufacturing end, than we were when I last talked to you. [See [1800] series re. Ipsab.] However, there has been a definite time set when this shall be begun, but under the present circumstances, I do not know just now whether all of the finances for same are in shape as yet. They were at one time, since I have been here, but, to be just plain about it, you know the men that are, principally, interested in this are members of the N.Y. Stock Exchange [Morton & Edwin Blumenthal]. They felt like, and I felt like that it was possible to increase this capital by the use of same in speculating on the Stock Exchange. So, at the present writing, same is very much tied up in stocks and bonds, the income of which at present only amounts to about fifteen hundred dollars a quarter. Should, however, between now and the time we are to begin, any of these are liquidated in such a manner as to create a large fund, then there would of course be no trouble. Now we are expecting to begin getting things together by the middle of December. Then should of course know by the first of January just where this part of the work stands.

Now, for the other work. In the Institute Work, things are in a little bit different shape. While these same people, of N.Y., are interested in the Institute Work, there are others that are also interested. One of them the gentleman in Chicago [M. B. Wyrick], who has a prospective oil well, and seemingly, though we have been a long time on same, that by the first of the year we should be having returns from this. Should this occur, there would be sufficient capital, irrespective of any other, to carry out the work in almost any manner we might desire. Then, we have another man in Dayton, Ohio [Thos. B. Brown], who is manufacturing the applicator I spoke to you about. He hopes, by early Spring at least, to have sufficient capital to start the manufacture of these on a large scale. It would be necessary, in that case, that he have the association of one of the medical fraternity to make many tests for the work that he is to do. From this source there would also be a small amount turned into the treasury for the development of same. This, of course, gradually being increased as the success of this applicator was determined and developed, and as foresaid, these same men in N.Y. have started a fund for the Institute Work that should it continue to multiply, as it has in the last year or six months, there should be sufficient in this fund to do practically most anything we would want to with the Institute Work. All of these, however, as you see, need the services, or need them when they are started rolling, of a first class practical medical man, one whose ability has weight with the medical profession. Such a one of course will have a lot of work to do and a lot of traveling about to do. Now, as for the place, Virginia Beach, its possibilities for a practitioner, irrespective of all this development in this work, that may occur, which of course depends upon me being able to keep my health, keep the interest aroused in the general public mind in the same way as I have heretofore, I’m sure there’s a great deal can be said about the place. Of course, I haven’t been here long enough to know what the various seasons mean for a resident of the place, for I am sure it is necessary for one to go through the entire season of winter and summer - winter with all its outgo of people - summer with all of its summer residents returning to the place [Va. Beach], with the thousands of visitors that are said to come here annually. While the place (please understand this is speculative, or my conclusions from having been here two months or a little better) is an old resort, it has only been in the last few years that it has attracted nation wide prominence as a summer resort, for until a few years ago it was merely a fishing village, but when the War came on, Cape Henry being a strategic point, the Government builded a large amount of good roads to be able to handle condition should necessity of same arise, and we know what good roads and automobiles mean to any place that already has wonderful possibilities. So, in the last four or five years this has grown to be a considerable place. There are perhaps only about three thousand all the year round inhabitants of Virginia Beach proper, it being about sixteen to eighteen miles almost due East from Norfolk, a city of about a hundred and seventy-five to eighty thousand inhabitants. One of the greatest seaports on the Atlantic Board. The exports through the Ports amounting to three to five million dollars weekly. Now there has been, and is being more all the time, a great deal of capital, outside capital, invested in Virginia Beach, and I have seen few, if any place where there is as much building going on as here, though of course it is spread over a great deal of territory, for each real estate man is hoping to make his plot of land the center of the city everyone feels is sure to be here sooner or later. We have city water, city lights, and the only city Government in the whole County, Princess Anne County. Now there has been a great deal of late in the different magazines and papers said concerning the healing properties to be found in the sands of Virginia Beach. As you know perhaps, it lies at the point on the Atlantic Ocean where the Gulf Stream turns across toward England and France. Therefore, there is brought in the tropical sands to its shore, and where the Northern Shore, or the Chesapeake Bay, with its James and Potomac, and other large rivers, bring from the mountains of Virginia, West Virginia and Pennsylvania, its properties to the same shore, and the down stream from the Delaware and New Jersey shores. You, as a physician, can see how this combination of properties makes this a nature resort, and a natural place for an institution, such as we hope to build, for with nature’s assistance, and with the building up of a place where thousands of people come in, we naturally can see the possibilities of the city when developed, which is going to be in the next three to five years. Now we have only one medical man in the place, Dr. Woodhouse [Dr. Robt. W. Woodhouse]. He is a man about forty years old, took over the practise of his father and is a very good man, I presume, regular medical practitioner. There is also a lady specialist [Dr. Cora Z. Corpening?] for her sex and the ills of same, who, however, as I understand, stays only in the summer season. Of course, we understand what this means. Now, being so far away, and at this season, I do not know what the local business for my work will be in the place as yet. Consequently, I couldn’t say as to whether this will mean anything to a local man or not. However, I DO KNOW that it will mean something, if nothing more than to verify the data that we obtain and give medical advice to those whom we give the work to through correspondence. This, you know, could be made, not only effective in the result obtained, but remunerative to the man who conducted same; yet I understand, and you do too, that this would take an aggressive individual, one who would not mind BUTTING IN quite often, yet it would mean the building up of the work contemplated for the future.

So, now, taking it all in all, I believe the thing merely sifts itself down to this: I believe you and Miss Carrie should make a trip here; that is, provided you would deem what I have said worthy of being considered at all at this time, look over the situation and then decide for yourself. You should have at least five or six days to look the place over. Ten days or two weeks then would cover your whole time. I wish you’d do it.
