This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 105th Street & Ocean, Virginia Beach, Va., this 11th day of August, 1931, in accordance with request made by self - Miss [543].

Time of Reading 417 - 22nd Street, 5:10 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. Virginia Beach, Va. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here - this we have had before, [543]. In some respects we find conditions are bettered than when last we had these through the physical forces of the body. In the administrations as are being made, these are nearer to that as was first administered under this application [Dr. Harry L. James’ medicine], and will be nearer in accord with that as may be administered for the betterment of the conditions, as we have seen or given. These, were they followed sufficiently - and with more close attention - MIGHT, with the mental changes necessary, bring SOME results.

2. There has BEEN outlined, as we find, that as would be better for the body [See 543-11, Life Rdg., recommending the Passion Flower.]. Ready for questions.

3. (Q) Should there be any changes in the diet or the manipulations? (A) In the diet, these have to be changed according to the eliminations of the body. These, when there are the disorders in this direction, make for more SEVERE reactions in body.

In the manipulations, we would change many of these. We would have more of the suppression in those of the 4th and 3rd lumbar and sacral area; that is, suppression to the reaction of the muscular forces AND the nerve plexus there. We would have more RELAXATION in the 4th, 5th, 2nd cervical area, and those corrections in the 3rd and 4th dorsal area.

4. (Q) Is is alright for the body to eat beet sugar? (A) If it’s done in consistent way, to be sure.

5. (Q) Would other medicines than the Passion Flower be needed to cure the body permanently? (A) Have we given, or have we not?

6. (Q) If the body responds properly to the treatments, how many months or years will it take to permanently cure the body? (A) Depends upon the reactions and the responses as are made more through the mental body. As to whether it requires one day, one month, one year, or one century, is with the entity!

7. (Q) What causes callouses on feet? (A) Haven’t we just given as to how the suppressions should be in the lumbar and sacral area for the lower circulation? Lack of circulation. If we will but consider as to how the circulation is for the lower portion of the body, and why the relaxation and corrections through that is given - An anatomist would see. Do you see?

8. (Q) Would cake made of white flour injure the body if taken occasionally? (A) Cake made of white flour would not be harmful unless indiscretion is shown in the eating of it.

9. (Q) Should the body discontinue Dr. James’ treatment or medicine until the Passion Flower medicine is prepared? (A) We would not! Haven’t we just given what to do, and how it should be worked together? for it’s a portion of the same, not prepared in the manner, or from the proper portions of same. Be consistent with the questions, as well as that as has been given!

10. (Q) Should the body use glasses for reading and such purposes? (A) If it feels that it needs them, it should!

11. That is all the questions on this individual.

12. There are many more that could be asked more in keeping with the conditions! We are through for the present.

R1. 8/27/31 Mr. [1212]‘s letter to Miss Annie Cayce:

Your letter was I thought just fine, and I was so sure that [543] would readily agree taking both treatments same day, thereby saving us two extra trips to Danville, Va. each week.

Her attitude was that Mr. Cayce (Brother as she called), did not so specify this in his reading, hence she was unwilling to do this.

If he is at home, possibly he would write me a letter I could show her or direct to her if the thought best, suggesting that she take both treatments same day, with say an hour’s rest between.

The past week, [543] had a very slight attack Monday about 9:30 P.M. which I though might be due to the hard trip, for it is a hot trip, another one about 8 P.M. Wednesday, not bad by any means.

Sunday about 9:30 P.M. I was reading she had just been to the phone & came back, I was still reading before I notice anything unusual, she did not exactly fall, but laid down in chair almost limp, this lasted for just a few minutes, since then she has been entirely free from any attack, and I think since she went with you, she has improved wonderfully, she so often wishing for you and in fact all the family.

Dr. James wrote that you had sent in report, and yesterday we recd. a fresh supply of medicine which she will start on today, he writes this should soon relieve her of any attacks. I do hope so, however if she continues to improve, I will be thankful.

R2. 9/4/31 [1212]‘s letter:

My Dear Miss Cayce:

Your letter was received yesterday. I have not heard from Mr. Cayce as yet, nor has [543]. I assume he has been so busy he has not had the time.

[543] told us about writing you, but did not know the contents. I am glad to write you that she is just doing fine, Dr. James sent a new supply of medicine, which she has been taking almost a week & we see a great improvement, which we hope is beginning to be permanent.

It has been two weeks since she [had] any attack of any kind (rather it will be two weeks tomorrow) we are so pleased, and [543] is of course. I think she plans to come back from 15th to 20th, as she says that is time “Brother” said she should come back, and I know that she looks forward to it with so much pleasure.

This leaves us real well & I thank you for your letter & I knew you would be so glad to know that [543] was so improved.
