This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 23rd day of June, 1943, in accordance with request made by the self - Miss [543], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc.

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with further suggestions for corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here.

3. This gradually grows to be more dependent upon the care, as well as the attempts of certain sedatives to prevent the recurrent conditions that have so oft been described for the body.

4. As we find, if close attention is kept, with the use of those things that have been indicated, the hypnotics rather than narcotics, these will tend to keep the body closer in check, closer in association with that which may prove helpful in this as well as in other experiences of the body in the earth. [See Life Rdg. 543-11.]

5. (Q) Would it be advisable for me to have an operation pertaining to the glands, which was suggested sometime ago? [543-1] (A) This was attempted in part. [See 543-24.] The advanced stages, and the conditions that exist, - we do not find it advisable in the present. Keep the closer to the applications given. When there are the tendencies for seizures, apply ice or very cold water to the back of the brain, or to the back of the neck, close with the 1st and 2nd cervical.

6. (Q) Should I change my diet any? (A) As indicated, best to keep it pretty well balanced in the way that it has been the more recently.

7. (Q) What caused the breaking out on my face? (A) Lack of proper coordination in eliminations. And these, of course, are hindered by the necessity of using those things that cause the choking off of the alimentary canal in its proper relationships to other things. But if these are kept in the order as given, there should be some benefits in these directions.

8. (Q) Do I have rheumatism in my back, the lower part of it? (A) This is rather the effect of the poisons, and is more neuritic than rheumatic.

9. (Q) What should be done to relieve it? (A) Create better eliminations. Use Upjohn’s Citrocarbonate this should be beneficial.

R4. 4/23/44 She wrote that her mother died on 4/11/44: “I have a woman and her child staying with me through May anyhow. After that I don’t know how or where I’ll go. We hardly think that Daddy can make it another winter…he is quite feeble.”

R5. 7/3/44 “I’m in Richmond at a nursing home. Not that I really need nursing, ‘cause I’m a great deal better, but Daddy’s in the hospital at home and it costs quite a bit to run the house. So we’re renting it out for a while and sister…does her own work and she’s nervous so I couldn’t live with her just yet. Then sister…lives in N.J. and does her own work, so that wouldn’t work out either yet awhile.”

R6. 9/6/44 GD’s note to Mrs. Ethel Clyde who was having copies made of the Edgar Cayce readings on epilepsy hoping to get a Dr. […] Price [?] interested: “[543] is an Active Member of A.R.E. and depends greatly on every word that comes through the rdgs. If it had not been for adverse conditions in her home life perhaps the entire treatment could have been consistently followed. There has been no consistency - she has been switched back and forth from one treatment to another trying this or that. However, as her Life Rdg. [543-11] indicates, it is a karmic condition and perhaps it is not intended for her to be free of the affliction in this life.”

Dear Eleanor:

You will find enclosed copies of both physical and life readings on what I believe is another very interesting case study. [Miss [543]]

The young woman described in these readings was one of the patients at the hospital for a time, and while she was following treatments, made remarkable improvement. As you will see from the readings, the first suggestion was for an operation. This, the family would not agree to, and hence other suggestions and a line of treatment were sought through the readings, and for a time, followed. You will notice in the information that the affliction in this life came from the parents. The home environment was never conducive to following any line of treatment consistently. More than once, this young woman was called back to her home and her treatments interrupted because of some disagreement between the mother and father. She is, at the present time, in an institution. We have kept in touch with her and I believe that she understands just what she is going through in this life.

An examination of the life reading indicates that the original karmic debt began in an Atlantean incarnation, the last one described in the reading. (You will remember that an Atlantean incarnation was also the basis for the difficulties of the individual whose records you returned to me.) [Mr. [436]]

I have seen this young woman [Miss [543]] have these epileptic attacks on numerous occasions. She lost consciousness and was liable to injure herself in falling at such times. When not suffering from these attacks, she was a pleasant and lovable person.

As I wrote you before, use up to 3000 words for the bulletin article. Please incorporate quotations from the readings which will parallel the material you find in the astrological chart. As you will remember, we hope to have in this article, a bulletin which would interest astrologers in the material which is in our records. I would like to have it ready for distribution at the Guild meeting where you plan to have Thomas Sugrue speak with you. The date of this meeting will determine the dead line for the material, so I suggest that you do the article as quickly as possible so we may have sufficient time for getting it printed.
