This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 17th day of November, 1930, in accordance with request made by her daughter - Miss [349].

[Edgar Cayce; Mrs. Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. L. B. Cayce.]

Time of Reading 3:50 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, N.Y. (Physical Suggestion)

  1. EC: We have the body here, [5449] - this we have had before. Ready for questions.

  2. (Q) What causes pains in back, feet and side? What treatments would relieve these pains? (A) An accentuation of the eliminations from the system, as through alimentary canal. By the use of high enemas or colonic irrigations to reduce the poisons in the system. With same, however, there should be used those antiseptics for the colon itself.

Also by the application, when there is acute pain, of the saturated solution of the Epsom Salts packs, or of tub baths of Epsom Salts - three to five pounds in twenty-five gallons of water, the body bathing in same as hot as the body can stand same; or get into the tub and pour the Epsom Salts hot water over the body and lie in same until it is cool. Rinse off in tepid water, scrub or rub the body BRISKLY along the spine and along the sciatic nerves. These will relieve these conditions.

  1. (Q) Is the gall bladder the seat of the trouble? If not, what is basis of trouble? (A) The liver AND the gall bladder!

  2. (Q) Will an operation be necessary to relieve the pain? (A) Not if the applications are made of those conditions given for specifics! We are going backward with the questions asked! The BASIS of the trouble needs to be relieved, and then the conditions as are produced BY the causes.

We would apply castor oil packs, or castor bean meal will be more effective in this particular condition but will be more RADICAL in its action. Castor oil packs, though, over the liver area - these kept up for a period sufficient to produce a reaction; that is, don’t put on one pack and then not put on any more for a week or so - for that would mean very little. It would be like trying to stop a millpond by putting up a little log or a little mud in same. Keep these up continuously for four, five, six, seven hours - as fast as one is cool place on another, until there is a REACTION.

Then, when the reaction has begun - EMPTY the gall bladder, OSTEOPATHICALLY, which will not produce irritation for same.

  1. (Q) What diet should body follow? (A) This has been outlined. It hasn’t been followed very good, but it’s best for the body!

  2. (Q) Who in New York could body place self under for right treatment. (A) Anyone who will give the treatment, and give it properly!

Do as we have outlined for the body. We are through for the present.
