This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 11th day of March, 1930, in accordance with request made by his daughter, Miss [349].

1. EC: Yes. Not so good. We have the body here. This we have had before. The contraction of congestion through the system will not prove so good for the body. First we would go about to correct these conditions. Then we may have in a general manner better conditions for the whole system.

2. We would add to the system those of the plain bicarbonate of soda, or BAKING soda. Take a teaspoonful (level), adding to a tablespoonful of the cracker crumbs - very finely powdered, and that are of the SALTINE variety; these carry the proper amount of the starch, also of the calcium, also salt. These added together, but DO NOT take water when this is eaten. Stir together. Do not take water for at least two or three, or five minutes, after this has dissolved sufficient to swallow. Chew it and swallow it, mixing well with the saliva. These will aid in ELIMINATING the system.

3. Take, as an eliminator, this: As we see, it will not be necessary to take more than two doses, and the doses - after the eliminations - should be followed by those of Fletcher’s Castoria, at least a whole bottle, or a small bottle of nine hundred drops of same. This as each dose of the eliminator, see?

Podophyllum…1/4 grain, Leptandrin…1/2 grain, Dovers’ Powders…1/2 grain, Sanguinaria…1/2 grain, Cascara Sagrada (powdered)…1/4 grain.

Take this in capsule, preferably in evening. Let one day be between each dose.

4. Then, the next day after - take the Fletcher’s Castoria in broken doses; that is, half a teaspoonful every hour, until the whole bottle is taken.

5. We will find the body will be considerably relieved, and that the whole GENERAL SYSTEM will be in a bettered condition.

6. As for the applications as have been for the eyes, these have not been kept as well as they should. The potato should be placed DIRECTLY on the skin. Bandage should be over same during the evening. Then there should be the proper precautions taken in the CLEANSING of same with the solution as would CLEANSE the eye of the REFUSES as are DRAWN from same - see? These should be in the nature of the antiseptics.

7. Also we would apply the ultra violet ray, using the whole of the strength in the CERVICAL region; applying, on the days that these are NOT used, the eye applicator of the VIOLET ray DIRECTLY to the eye, using the DOUBLE applicator; that is, covering both eyes at once. Ready for questions.

8. (Q) How many doses of soda should be given, and how often? (A) About two. One in morning, one in evening. We are through with this reading.

R1. 4/10/30 Daughter [349]‘s letter: ”…[5451], my father, has spent the last ten years and more, as well as all his money, visiting the best doctors in New York who made his condition worse instead of better, and finally he was advised by two of the biggest specialists in New York to have an operation, which the readings decidedly said should not be done. You have been giving him treatments for his eyes, which he is taking at the present time, and best of all the readings have given him treatments for his general physical condition which is the basis of his eye trouble. These treatments have just been begun, but we know he will be helped and this will build up his morale as well as that of our entire family…”

R2. 5/12/30 Daughter [349]‘s letter: ”…As far as my father [5451]‘s reading is concerned, Dr. Berger is still ill so he has been unable to continue the osteopathic treatments; however, I am going to try to make arrangements with a Dr. Emanuel, whom Dr. Grace Berger recommended. We are trying to do the best we can and I guess that is all any of us can do…”

R3. 7/16/30 Daughter [349]‘s letter: ”…You remember, when you were here, I spoke to you about some check readings on my mother [5449] and father [5451]. Dr. Berger is back in town now and is taking patients, and my Dad would like to go back to him as he feels that he has not been helped by the doctor who treated him in Dr. Berger’s absence…”
