EC: Yes, we have the body here, [5610]. Now, we find that there are the general normal developments under the existent conditions of the body. There have NOT been the manipulative forces occasionally to care for the normal DEVELOPMENTS as respecting those conditions in the sensory system; that is, a general manipulative treatment - see? This the cause of, STILL, those PERIODS of disturbance in this area. These conditions, as we find, are better - but they will continue until there is the proper set-up of CIRCULATION through both the body and the foetus.
-
(Q) In previous reading, the Forces mentioned a near normal condition of the hearing and activities of the sensory system would ensue after the third month, or when there begins the first movements. (A) There IS a nearer normal activity, and will be materially aided will there be the manipulative forces for the whole general system, with the consideration given those centers in the upper dorsal and cervical, and head and neck area - as related to the sensory, and especially the auditory centers. Let the manipulator know and realize that STIMULI to the circulation from the 2nd and 3rd dorsal, as well as from the 3rd and 4th cervical, will work for the betterment of those conditions in the sensory system, and sensory disturbance - and, as given, when the circulation is stimulated - as is recognized - the manipulations in the dorsal and lumbar will aid in the activities of kidneys, with the general eliminations, with the general tired feeling, and relieve the nausea that comes at times to the body - by the manipulative forces; these will act in the same way and manner for the sensory system. Follow those rather closely.
-
(Q) How often should the manipulations be given? (A) Once to three times a month.
-
(Q) Any special one you suggest? (A) One that knows how!
-
(Q) What cause small blood clots in waste matter when blowing nose? (A) Lack of coordination in circulation to the whole sensory system. That in itself should indicate those conditions necessary for establishing of perfect circulation in the body, that is DEPENDENT on body - as well as in self! To the sensory system, as to the rest of the body!
-
(Q) Can this be corrected now? (A) Do as we have given, if we would correct the conditions?
-
That is all the questions.
-
We are through with this reading.

R1. 1/23/1932 [5610]‘s ltr. to EC:
…, N.Y.
Mr. Edgar Cayce 105th St. & Ocean, Virginia Beach, Va.
Dear Mr. Cayce,
We are in receipt of readings of January 19th, which were found to be very interesting and for which we thank you.
Now, there are one or two answers which are not quite clear to me, and would appreciate your explanations of same.
Regarding question 3 [5610-6, Par. 4-A.] “Any special one you suggest”, you state “One that knows how”. As you know, Dr. Theodore Berger has been the only osteopath treating me in New York. Since having received reading previous to this one, Theodore Berger has given me one manipulation and his mother, Grace Berger has been given me one manipulation (in his absence), which I found to be quite different from Theodore’s. Am I to infer that neither Theodore nor Grace Berger will give me the proper treatment, and that I should seek another osteopath who will?
It is rather strange to me that the Forces did not suggest somebody or at least sanction either one of the Berger’s. As it stands, it leaves me in a quandary as to whether to continue and decide on receiving treatments from either Mrs. Berger or her son.
I know you realize that at this late date, I must be absolutely certain the osteopath knows and will follow your instructions exactly so that I may receive due benefits.
You refer to one or three times a month. Isn’t it reasonable to believe that this might be more definite?
In view of Dr. Richardson’s parting remarks that no further treatment is required and that nature must do its work, it is quite difficult for me to understand why it is necessary to continue these treatments, and I hope in doing so, it will not in any way interfere with my pregnancy.
Please explain also “…proper set-up of circulation thru both the body and the FOETUS”.
I received your Membership Application also Member Card and will be happy to recommend the first party with whom I come in contact that could utilize the facilities of the Association.
With kindest regards to you and yours from Mr. [5069] and myself, I am
Sincerely, [5610]

R3. 1/28/32 EC’s letter to Mrs. [5610]:
My dear Mrs. [5610]:
In regard to yours of the 23rd, I wish it were possible for me to talk with you about this rather than attempting to write. It is sometimes very hard to get over just what we want to say in a letter.
It was necessary for you to have an osteopathic specialist in eye, ear, nose and throat, at first - but now that nature has brought about other conditions, it is necessary for you to have a well-rounded treatment, also taking into consideration the effects to be brought about in the sensory system - along with the pregnant condition treatment, so that there may be a proper balance between the sensory system and your whole general system. I believe that if you will go to Dr. Grace Berger and tell her about the treatment suggested and also what is desired to be brought about, she will know exactly how to treat you properly so as to get the best results. Then she might make a list of questions as to her part of it, so that you might receive the very best service under the existing conditions. I think you should do that. Had the information felt it necessary for you to go to someone else, I’m sure it would have said so. You said remember that Mrs. Berger has been a mother, and has recently taken care of one or two cases in your condition. I don’t understand that she is to give you special treatments for your ear trouble, but is to CORRELATE what has ALREADY been accomplished there WITH the changes that have come about in your system. One or two such treatments a month I’m sure would be most helpful. The variation from one to three times a month would depend entirely upon the reactions that come to your system from the treatments, and the attitude mentally you hold respecting your condition and the circumstances surrounding you. I understand that if you go to Dr. Berger with the attitude that it won’t amount to anything, you needn’t expect anything at all - but you should take sufficient number, whether it’s one or three times a month, to keep yourself in the best physical condition. Dr. Richardson’s remarks as to your treatment were in reference to the ear condition specifically; but remember, when there are so MANY changes going on in your system, all portions of the body must supply some part to that change taking place. Hence the necessity of having treatments to coordinate and correlate the condition, so that your treatments from Dr. Richardson may still have the desired effect. As to the proper set-up of circulation through both the body and the foetus, I think Dr. Berger will be better able to explain that to you - but it is the establishing of a coordinating circulation in your body with that of the developing child, and I think a great many people will agree that an osteopathic treatment is the most HELPFUL of any treatment in the world for doing just that.
I hope this explanation is satisfactory, for I do so want to get the very best possible attention during this time, and not lose all that you have gained by your treatments down here.
With love and kindest regards to you both from all, I am
Sincerely, EC:GD
R4. 4/27/32 Mrs. [5610]‘s husband [5609] obtained his fifth reading.
R5. 6/13/32 EC wrote a congratulatory letter on the birth of their baby daughter on 5/25/32.
R6. 8/23/32 Husband [5609]‘s letter: ”…Mrs. [5610] is very busy these days taking care of our daughter, who is getting along very nicely. I regret to say that I cannot give you the same good news about Mrs. [5610], but when I receive my next reading, hope you will permit me to include a few questions in her behalf…”
R7. 8/24/32 EC’s letter: ”…I am glad that the young lady is coming along so nicely but sorry that Mrs. [5610] is not feeling so well. You certainly may include the questions for her in the next reading…”
R8. GD’s Note: On subsequent trips to New York EC talked to Mrs. [5610] and her husband on the phone and she reported that she was getting along very nicely.
R9. 4/20/34 EC’s letter to Mrs. [5610] and her husband: ”…It’s been some time since we have had a word from you, and during our recent visit there we didn’t have the opportunity to get in touch with you - as we had an incoming phone but no outgoing one. We would like very much to hear from you. Know that we don’t feel that we have so many friends that we can afford to lose a single one. And you know we think a great deal of you both. We have never had the pleasure of seeing the young lady, but we hope she is getting along fine - and that this finds both of you well. It would be fine if you could bring her down to the Beach sometime during the summer. You won’t find a better place, and I’m sure there is no place where they would be glader to see you. Remember, our Congress meets the last part of June, and we would like to have you here with us.
“Be sure and let us hear from you…”
R10. Although EC talked to them on the phone during subsequent trips to New York, there is no further correspondence from them in the A.R.E. files.
