EC: We have the body here - we have had this before, you see. Now we find there are improvements in the physical forces of this body since last we had same here. There are many conditions to be considered respecting those conditions that exist in the physical being of the body, and while there arise from time to time those elements that are of a disturbing and discouraging nature to the body, these [the epilepsy attacks] will of necessity have to be by the body put in the background and not allow these conditions - because they do occur occasionally - to gain control over the mental body; for while physical conditions are reacting to the mental being, the mental body IS the builder. The physical is the result, and the spiritual will build that as is builded in the mental being, and a physical result is then amenable to outside influences that are mental, material, and physical. Hence there are being applied in the physical being of this body those conditions that, while these are material - and while the mental body is in the condition of being disturbed, this gives rise to those conditions of discouragement. This must have the outside influence to give the proper incentive in a correlated effect or correlated manner to this body, so that the whole physical reaction will be in keeping with that as the mental being would have the body be. Then, be consistent - persistent - in the spiritual, mental and physical application of all those conditions that apply to the physical body, to the material body, to the mental body, and the SPIRITUAL will guide and lead aright. For we are one in Him, and ourselves may only get in the way of a full development. Then keep those, as yet, as have been given, and be patient in well-doing. Do not be overcome, but overcome evil with good. Materially, mentally, physically, apply this in the body. Do that.

Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 8/2/28 Letter: ”…This may not be an inspiration, it is not for me to say, but your reading was clearly coincidental with a dream I had this morning. This dream was to cast all my cares and worries on the Lord, for He is ever mindful of me and my body would always be free from cares and infirmities. Can it be possible, Mr. Cayce, that He is mindful of me, the lowliest of all His creatures, who am not worthy to be called even a servant for I was once a sinner?
“I shall follow your and His advice and be not worried but overcome evil by good and beg to remain, your fellow servant in the Lord…”
R2. 8/17/28 Letter: ”…My supply of medicine ran out yesterday and said medicine and the vegetable diet you prescribed for me having done me so much good I had prescription filled again today so as to keep up its beneficial results.
“Although I have been in this condition for a long time and I have never lost hope or allowed myself to become discouraged as some would. I still hope and, He alone knows, if it be His will I may be cured…”
R3. 9/1/28 Letter: ”…My trouble, Mr. Cayce, has been going on practically since the War. Sometimes mild and at other times worse. It has improved wonderfully of late, ‘till now I suffer attacks only when I overtax myself mentally or physically. There was noticeable for a time the drosses of which you spoke, from conditions which had heretofore existed. This was gradually overcome by the inhalant - antiseptic which you prescribed. My balance, too, was poor but has been improved by the spinal massage, I think. I am much better…” [See inhalant in 5642-2 and massage in 5642-1.]
R4. 10/25/28 Letter: ”…I am now ready for a reading if you will give me same. My condition is so much changed, for the better I hope, but I desire another reading to know my exact condition…”
R5. 10/29/28 EC gave the fourth reading, 5642-4, advising him to continue the treatments previously recommended. Later he wrote that he had steadily improved from the epilepsy attacks.
R6. 7/3/29 He wrote: “In all ways I am much better.”
R7. 6/5/40 Questionnaire was ret’d marked ADDRESS UNKNOWN.
Background
Background
B1. 6/27/28 He obtained 5642-2 advising further for a pulmonary condition and for an assimilation-elimination condition which apparently the reading considered more urgent than the concentrating on the epileptic attacks about which he was mainly concerned. [GD’s note: It is interesting that in his correspondence he never once mentioned the pulmonary condition, except to say in his reports that the inhalant had helped him.]
B2. 1/20/29 He wrote in re EC’s having the flu - see under 5642-4 - that he had personally had the flu twice and knew how necessary it was to rest and recuperate.
