This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 322 Grafton Avenue, Dayton, Ohio, this 9th day of August, 1925, in accordance with request made by self, through Mr. [953].

1. GC: You will have before you [583], who was born May 11, 1892, in Copenhagen, Denmark, and you will give the relation of this entity and the Universe, and the Universal Forces, giving the conditions that are as personalities, latent and exhibited, in the present life. Also the former appearances in the earth’s plane, giving time, place, and the name, and that in that life which built or retarded the development for the entity, giving the abilities of the present entity and to that which it may attain, and how.

2. EC: Yes, we have those records here as have been and are made by the entity in the present earth’s plane, also those relations with Universe and Universal Forces as give the urges as are exhibited and latent in the life of the entity. These, as we find, have much to do with those that are in the latent forces of the individual in the earth plane.

3. In taking the position, then, in the present earth’s plane, these we see come from Jupiter and Venus, with Neptune and the forces of lunar force, with Saturn’s [GD’s note: See 583-1, horoscope rdg. on 11/16/23, which mentions Septimus instead of Saturn.] influence in the life.

4. Then, we have one with those ennobling and loving influences as are exhibited in a present earth’s plane.

5. One who shows care, reverence, for those who may be dependent upon the entity, whether of the filial relations of or in business or social relations, and one who may be relied upon to fill that duty as is seen in the entity’s way.

6. One who is endowed with many of the various phases of development from different spheres. One with an analytical mind, especially as pertaining to business of the natures as pertaining to relations and dealings with other peoples wherein there enter that of the sentimental force, or business associations of the nature pertaining to the moral effect of condition on peoples’ lives. Hence, the entity has those urges and abilities as would make same successful, either as trained nurse, as artiste, or actress in stage or pictures, or in affairs of secretarial nature, especially as one of the nature of social secretaryship.

7. One we find who has those ennobling influences, yet ever tempered with love in every manner. One who expends self much in way of the affairs of heart’s forces on all whom the entity may contact! One who may rule everyone whom the entity contacts through the heart and the guiding forces as are directed through the highest motives of love’s influence, for this is the highest force in the entity’s being, as it were, in the present sphere.

8. As to the appearances, these, as we see, give much of the urges as are seen in the present earth’s plane.

9. Then in the force of the Nero’s destructive force to the Christian fathers, in that name of Lyscha, the entity then suffered; the entity suffered at the hands of that ruler in being destroyed in physical forces in the arena. The entity from this gains much of the dread of force as may be used by those that are in power, and hence the influences of love ruling rather than might.

10. In the one before this, we find in the name then Olse, and in the country near where the entity now sojourns Chicago, Ill.], for the entity, then, as we see, came into this country from the descendants of the Norse peoples who first landed and settled the Northeastern coast of this country, during that time. The entity then of strong physical forces and giving much to the aid of the peoples in establishing the forts and the outposts of the peoples who joined later with that peoples in the country South of there, known as Mound Builders, see? The entity in this, we find, did not develop in the last of the sojourn, for the forces of might were used against the entity. In the urge as is seen, again the dislike of force or might used in rule with peoples, things or conditions, making the entity, then, as it were, accentuated against such actions in physical plane and turning, as it were, rather to the spiritual elements of life.

11. In the one before this we find in that of the Cyrenian country, when the peoples were then spreading toward the South country, taking up the forces of the sojourn in the country to be subdued and becoming afterward the first rulers in Egyptian country. Ra-Ta period] The entity then in the name Ibxs, and the entity failed to reach the country, for the bands as were moving were charged upon by those in the Eastern forces of the country through which these were passing, and the entity being then in that condition [pregnant?] unable to move with the others, was taken captive and lost the life. [GD’s note: No doubt she was then the wife of [953] who became later a councillor to the ruler in Egypt.] Hence we find that inner urge of the love of children, and especially those in the weak or helpless state. Hence the abilities as are manifest and latent as the nurse, or the application of such forces.

12. Then, as to what the entity may attain in the present, keep either of those urges as are manifest and as are latent, and as have been exhibited and as may be shown, and as may be made the rule of the life as the first and foremost, for through any of the three, as given, may the entity make a success, socially, financially, morally, spiritually, for the love force in the entity at the present being that stage wherein the higher elements as are manifest through those of the loving forces of the Creator for the created are exemplified.

13. Keep, then, those in that way and manner as may manifest Him in and before men, for this is but the reasonable service.

He told his father that the only happiness he had known in life came since our meeting and the wonderful satisfaction of his two lovely boys. If I have evolved in this plane it certainly is through my devotion to him and the boys… He has been gone half a yr. yesterday and I can see that it will always seem like yesterday.”

R6. 6/12/34 See her Ck. Physical 583-8 in which she rec’d message at the end from her departed husband, [953], and subsequent correspondence pertaining to their plan to write a book on Atlantis, etc.

R7. 4/21/38 “We moved last Sat… I’m weary of moving… The bridle path is very close…and I do love horses. Horseback riding was my hobby at one time.”

R8. 2/10/39 EC’s ltr.: “Had a very strange dream about Mr. [953] night before last. Dreamed he was leading a great procession, couldn’t make out what it was for some time, then realized or was told it was the Pope crossing over to the other land. And you don’t know how curious it made me feel when was awakened out of sleep early this morning to hear announced the Pope was dead.”

R9. 6/50 Mrs. [583] was a worker on the E.C.F. campaign to raise funds for preparing the readings for general use.

R10. 3/17/51 She wrote of living in Calif. with her son, [4713], and hoped to persuade son [4714] and wife to move out there; also her stepdaughter, [4898], is now living in Calif.

R11. 12/11/53 She wrote of living back in Ill. with son [4714] and his [new] wife and baby daughter born in Sept. Soon she expects to live with her sister, [1272], either in Ill. or back in Los Angeles.

R12. 12/21/53 HLC’s ltr. to Mrs. [583]:

We have just lost a very excellent secretary [Hildegarde Allen] who has been working with Gladys here in the office. Her husband is in the Navy and they have moved to Bermuda. We are going to have to secure the services of someone who can handle office procedure. Gladys and I, in talking about it, wondered whether you would be interested in spending some time here at the Association Headquarters and working either part or full time.

The work deals with keeping up membership records of the Association, some mimeographing, filling orders for the publishing company and taking letters from the wire recorder. It is pretty general office work, which I am sure you could handle if you would be interested in it.

We were thinking about you and wondering what your plans might be. I should be glad to go into more detail about this, if you were at all interested.

R13. 1/5/54 “Am pleased and flattered that you consider me for the position and do appreciate it very much… I know it would be very interesting and soul-satisfying work but I don’t know whether I could do justice to it now for reasons of health and having been away from office work for several years. Have more or less committed myself to joining my sister [1272] and keeping an apt. with her while she works, at the same time managing an apt. bldg. for my oldest brother. Also to do a little work each day to help along.

“I’ve spent a good deal of my waking hours since receiving your letter wondering what action to take, so do not think I take the offer lightly, but I have misgivings about being able to handle it satisfactorily.

“Thank you so much and please thank Gladys too.”

R15. 12/12/61 “My sister [1272] and I still have an apt. in …, Calif. I baby-tend or sit when I can and make a little money that way. Made a trip with my brother to see [stepdaughter] [4898] last Labor Day… My son [4713] lives 2 mi. from here… Son [4714] lives in …”
