This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 22nd day of February, 1938, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [601], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 11:15 to 11:30 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. Detroit, Mich. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [601].

2. As we find, there are disturbances - or INFLAMMATORY conditions arising - in the tubes from the bladder, as through which eliminations are carried.

3. Thus these as combined with the general disturbances cause great irritation and the continued reactions as to cause the extra flow of secretions from the kidneys.

4. As we find, first: To verify that there is not gravel or stone in kidney, we would have an X-Ray. Not only will this make for the satisfying of the one administering the manipulations (which must be done), but the effect of the rays will also be beneficial to the conditions that are producing the irritations.

5. Then, we would change the vibrations from the electrical forces. Instead of the Radio-Active Appliance, use the same leads or wires but connect WITH a B Battery; that is, the heavier charge that is ordinarily used with other than an ELECTRICAL radio set. The B Battery. Connect the wires to this; then make the attachments in this manner:

The first or positive anode (which should be, of course, on the positive side of the Battery) would be attached or connected to the 9th dorsal plexus; while the other - the last attachment (which should be on the negative pole or side of the Battery) - would be to the pubic bone center, as we have indicated, but a little bit lower than it has been used, see? so that the electrical forces pass through the nerve centers along the area from which there is the drainage of the bladder to the uterus. Use for twenty minutes in this manner, and it may be used twice a day.

7. The body-temperature douches, the activity of these taken every other day would be well. To a quart of water (body-temperature; not higher, not lower), add half a teaspoonful of Atomidine.

8. In making the corrections in the coccyx, the raising of the coccyx is to dilate the anus; raising the end of the coccyx bone, that makes a pressure which - combined with the conditions - causes irritations in the whole of the areas themselves. This is raised from INTERNALLY, you see. This is the manner of correcting same. The corrections in the centers as coordinated along would be in the ordinary manner of the adjustments osteopathically given.

9. In the diet, keep away from those things that would IRRITATE the activities of the kidneys.

10. WE would find, however, that small doses of Sweet Spirits of Nitre taken occasionally will tend to clear the activity of the kidneys and the bladder. This would be five to ten drops taken about once every third day.

11. Then, do not take foods such as sweet potatoes, turnips nor of THAT particular nature; though salsify, the TOPS of turnips and the potato jackets occasionally will be very good.

12. The rest of the diet we would not alter or change. No great quantities of highly spiced foods, however.

13. Ready for questions.

14. (Q) Is there anything I can do to get relief from pain across back? (A) As we find, the electrical forces taken in the manner indicated, and with the raising of the coccyx end of the spine should relieve same.

And all of these conditions will be aided by not only the mental but the activity of the high vibratory forces through the body from the X-Ray. Let the X-Ray cover, then, of course, the kidneys and bladder.

15. (Q) Please explain more definitely about manipulation for lifting the coccyx. (A) As has just been indicated, this is to be raised from INTERNALLY.

16. (Q) The frequent urination during night still persists. (A) As indicated, this is the irritation to the tube - as WE find from bladder, see?

17. (Q) Please outline foods that are difficult for kidneys to assimilate at this time.

(A) As just indicated.

18. (Q) Are Bovril Concentrated Beef Cubes recommended for Beef Broth at times? (A) These are very good, but as we find the fresh is much better than the Cubes.

19. (Q) Are citrus fruit juices recommended, also tomato juice? (A) These are very good.

20. (Q) Are the fume baths recommended at this time? (A) The fume baths are very, VERY good!

21. (Q) Should the Mutton Suet Compound be applied with heat? (A) This when other things fail will be found to be most helpful.

Do these as has been indicated at this time.

R1. 2/28/38 Mrs. [601]‘s letter: “What in the world is happening to me? It is so hard to realize that such an abrupt change can take place in a body in a short time, or has the condition been working on me without my being conscious of it?

“I had the X-Ray taken Fri. morning but it did not show any stones in the kidney. I did not take the dye test for the gall bladder so of course that did not show any obstruction.

“Dr. Thompson has given me two of the anus treatments for the coccyx, which he wasn’t very keen about giving, saying that pressure on the rectal wall may cause bleeding, which it did not.

“My blood pressure has taken a complete reversal from the usual normal or below, it has shot up to 170 which also makes another stumblingblock.

“Please give me a rdg. any morning on receipt of this letter and ask the questions I am enclosing.

“I have been using the B Battery as suggested, but got no relief from the Suet compound and heat. I guess I am getting accustomed to the pain in my back…

“I do not relish the idea of going to any medical man, knowing how little they know when it comes to internal conditions especially as to the glands and their effect on the menopause, but I fear that when [619] comes home he may insist on consulting with someone.

“I have lost about six lbs. and have little desire for food, and very little ambition to do anything.

“Please wire should there be anything to do to give me some relief.”
