This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 2nd day of March, 1938, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [601], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.
[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]
Time of Reading 11:10 to 11:25 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. Detroit, Mich. (Physical Suggestion)
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here.
-
As we find, while there is in the present - or recently has been - apparently greater irritation, the conditions are in the main in a much better condition; though the feelings and the anxieties that are produced are not inclined to make the body feel other than that the condition is gradually growing worse - owing to the period through which the body is passing as well as of aggravation and the pain through the area from the kidneys to the bladder, and the bladder through the irrigations or the frequent urinations and irritations produced.
-
While it has been indicated that there is not that condition of kidney stones, the greater irritation is from the area through the tubes FROM the bladder as it empties. Some, of course, in the bladder itself.
-
Do not allow the anxieties AS YET to produce the reaction as would follow, owing to the general conditions of a prenatal effect or of the conditions that this is as yet a malignant nature. [See 601-1 on 7/2/34 indicating scar tissue in uterus and pressure in small of back due to effect of childbirth - daughter [480] on 2/10/12.]
-
But as we find, DO NOT USE HEAT - IF THE X-RAYS ARE USED AS A PORTION OF THE TREATMENT. And as we find in the present, the X-Ray in the present would be the preferable manner of application; with, of course, the manipulations being continued.
-
Not more than once or - if there is greater irritation - twice a week with the X-Ray treatment. Not too LONG a period of treatment, else we will produce too great an irritation. Allow sufficient of the destroyed tissue by the X-Ray to be eliminated WITHOUT there being irritations produced in highly vibrated forces in the other tissues of the body. Hence as given, not too long at a period. This is judged much by the administrator, but not too long a period.
-
At least once a month use the raising of the coccyx. Not in such measures as to become greater irritating, but the natural tendency from irritation for the muscular forces about all portions of the body to contract under pain necessitates that the manipulations be made as precautionary measures to allow the system to drain properly. These pressures that have been given to raise coccyx have been very well, and for the reason as indicated these should be given occasionally; not oftener, or it should not be necessary for them to be given oftener than once a month. However, should the occasion arise, then give same a little oftener.
-
The dilating by the local or cystoscopic treatments as we find is not yet advisable, if there are the manipulations given so that there ARE the better eliminations - and with the activity of the properties indicated for keeping the activities of the kidneys pure.
-
Remember, while the irritations and inconveniences are felt by the body owing to frequent urinations, these are NATURE’S measures in attempting to throw off irritations through the system.
-
Then the general activities as to diet, surroundings for the concurrent conditions attendant to menopause periods, should be maintained.
-
Do these, as we find.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) What is cause of high blood pressure at this time? (A) This is a condition of acuteness, but will soon come back to normal if the general conditions are followed, as we find.
-
(Q) Any further advice to Dr. Thompson regarding treatments? (A) As indicated, those that will aid in the eliminating of poisons from INFECTED areas.
-
(Q) What is cause of the inflammation in tubes from bladder to uterus? (A) This is a GENERAL condition, or an inclination of a SYMPATHETIC nature as well as becoming irritated by the very nature of the system’s discharge at this time.
-
(Q) Should B Battery be continued and is same attached properly? (A) This should occasionally be continued; this not oftener now, though, than every other day; and the period dependent upon how frequently the X-Ray treatments are given. That is, don’t give it on days the X-Ray is given.
-
(Q) Then, it is not well to submit to a cystoscopic examination? (A) It is not out of the way, but the condition has been given - and that which is HELPFUL. As indicated, cystiscopic TREATMENTS are not advisable. EXAMINATION may be made, but the applications of strong astringents - as of silver or the like, to reduce the irritation - would tend to turn this to those conditions of GREATER affectation.
-
(Q) Have lost weight and feel low in spirits; very little ambition to do anything. (A) As indicated, this is a portion of the effect from the condition. But DON’T ALLOW this feeling to become too much of self by dwelling upon same! Hence those precautions as to keeping cheerful surroundings and individuals about the body.
-
(Q) Is this condition due to a hereditary family complaint? [cancer?] (A) As has just been indicated, this is a PORTION of same. But DO NOT allow the self - the mental self - to dwell upon same; else we will have it!
-
(Q) Any other advice for the body at this time? (A) Keep the mental attitude constructive.
-
We are through for the present.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 3/7/38 She requested a Physical Rdg., for Mrs. [1545], saying: “A few words about myself: A few days I feel a little better, then zip - a setback and I am no good, cause my family worry and anxiety and I, of all people, become a cry baby. Can you imagine me like that? I am surprised at myself and am wondering if that is also a form of elimination.
“I haven’t taken any X-Ray treatments since the last reading, hoping I can avoid such drastic treatment by using the battery consistently (B Battery) and, if need be, will try to get Dr. I. L. O’Connor’s cooperation to get the X-Ray treatment at the Osteopathic Hospital. Dr. John R. Thompson (D.O.) is not very much in favor of the X-Ray treatments and evidently does not want to assume the responsibility of authorizing the giving of same. I will make several questions regarding same… Have had bad reaction during the night following the day I have osteopathic tr., also the next day. Any correction in method of giving tr.? Should Spirits of Nitre be continued? Also the Tonicine?”
R2. 3/9/38 Wire: “Has X-Ray given yesterday covered correct area? Is three minutes period satisfactory? Reading for Mr. [1547] not received.”
R3. 3/9/38 See 601-27.
