This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 3rd day of August, 1934, in accordance with request made by the mother - Mrs. [652], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mildred Davis.]

Time of Reading (As of yesterday afternoon) 4:00 to 4:25 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Ill. (Physical Suggestion)

  1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, August 2nd, [625].

  2. Now, as we find, there are conditions that are disturbing to the better physical functioning of this body. While these conditions in the present only present uncomfortable and unsatisfactory conditions, they are indications that there is something very WRONG in the manner of the organs’ functioning; not only producing, then, irritation in the physical body that would work to detrimental conditions, but a drain and a strain on the vital forces of the body, and gradually undermining the coordinations between the imaginative, the emotional and the physical normalcy of an active normal body.

  3. These, then, are conditions as we find them in the present with this body, [625] we are speaking of (This is August 2nd; though it’s the third!):

  4. We find that the BLOOD SUPPLY carries an indication of a strain existent in the eliminating systems of the body. Thus there is a tendency for the katabolism of the body being disturbed MORE than the metabolism; for all portions of the body should function in coordination one with another, yet under this strain it is seen that there is being produced a drawing upon the vitality of the red blood supply, making for an irritability in the gland functionings of the body. Hence the conditions that disturb the main forces, as we find, are of pressures in portions of the cerebrospinal system; not merely from a nerve plexus but where there is the coordination of the glands that make for the activity of the genitive organs of the system; producing, then, an abnormal activity in this direction.

  5. These, as we find, give their reflex through the blood supply in the manner as above described, and in the NERVE SYSTEM this irritability that is of the nature to cause not only the organs of the pelvis or the genitive system to become the active forces that are indicated, but producing in them a functioning that is abnormal; thus overtaxing the organs and producing enlargements in the ovaries, in the Fallopian tubes, tendency for making the organs of the pelvis itself - the uterus, the very organs of reproduction - to become abnormal in position, activity, and in their action through the system. This is the more strain, as indicated, upon the vital forces between the sympathetic and cerebro-spinal system; hence will, without correction, be the strain upon the very MENTAL BEING of the body. See?

  6. These are rather as warnings; for, as we find, with normal activities - that may be outlined for the body for a period of three to six to nine weeks - we might overcome (or six to eight weeks we might overcome) these conditions in such measures that NORMALCY in all the activities may be resumed.

  7. First we would be very mindful of the diets of the body. Very little if ever any of the condiments for the body; even salt should be refrained from to a great measure - that is, not seasoning things with salt, other than that which is, of course, cooked in foods. No peppers, no condiments that are as seasonings. This would be rather as an outline:

  8. Mornings - fresh fruits, cereals, or citrus fruit juices, or stewed fruits; with dry brown whole wheat toast.

  9. Noons - preferably the fresh green vegetables all raw. One meal each day all the vegetables would be raw, see? Preferably the mayonnaise dressing should be used with these.

  10. Evenings - rather the well-cooked vegetables, but meats should be a portion of this diet; but never any fried meats - these should be roasted, broiled, or the like. Fish or lamb or fowl would be the better of the meats. But there should be at least three vegetables of the pod or leafy nature to one of those that grow under the ground, in the evening meals. No Coca Colas or drinks that carry carbonated waters should be taken.

  11. We would begin immediately with the osteopathic adjustments and manipulations that will make for coordination of the 4th lumbar area with the 9th dorsal plexus area. It is between the 4th lumbar and 9th dorsal, then, that the coordinations or alignments will be made; that there may not be too great an impulse in the activities to those portions of the system. Necessary, to be sure, that there would be the coordinating of such adjustments and treatments with the upper dorsal and cervical, but ADJUSTMENTS should be made from the 4th lumbar to the 9th dorsal; all of this area, you see. Also those should be straightened in the coccyx end of the spine, for there is the tendency for the curvature of the 2nd and 3rd of those segments, you see. This will necessarily be made from INTERNAL as well as external.

  12. There should be sleeping in the open, keeping in the open; without a great amount of violent exercise, especially on the feet, during the periods when the ADJUSTMENTS are being made; and these should require at least two to three each week, and take at least twenty-one treatments - see - about three each week.

  13. Do this and, as we find, there will be an improvement and a normalcy in these directions that will make for the activities in all those things that pertain to the mental outlooks of the body upon life much better.

  14. Leave these as they are and bad results MUST effect not only in the mental but more in the progenitive activities in the physical organisms of the body.

  15. We would be mindful that we refrain from any of sedatives during this period of treatments, that tend to make for a contraction of any of the organs of the whole system.

  16. Ready for questions.

  17. We are through with this reading.
