This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at Phillips Hotel, Room 115, Dayton, Ohio, this 5th day of December, 1923, in accordance with request made by Mrs. [979], mother.

Time of Reading 11:25 A. M. …, Georgia. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Now, we find conditions are changed somewhat with this body since last we had this. [No record of earlier rdgs., see 654-1, Par. B1.] Some in the physical are for the betterment of the body. Some in the mental, and the condition this mental has upon the physical, are not as good as when we had this before, for the irritation through nerve forces from the nerves in ilium plexus, and in and about those portions of the pelvic cavities proper, we find this being produced by irritation to the mental forces most as much as through physical, therefore producing physical conditions in the system that cause much distress to the body, producing through the hepatic circulation distress signs, or signals, to the lower portion of stomach, through the pelvic nerve, and also in the reflex nerves and tissue from this same center, to the traverse portion of colon region, though the seat of trouble is more in the pelvic cavity than of the colon’s condition proper. This, also, we find, gives to the body headaches, and the tendency to produce the tingling, or burning, sensation in nose, face and eyes, from this same reflex coming in contact with the perineurial nerve system that produce this in and through lymph circulation.

2. R E L I E F, to give the best relief for this body would be for the body, itself, through its mental forces, take control of itself, through study of those forces as is found in those of Science of Life, or Unity either, so the body centralizes the condition on self, and therefore becoming able to rid its mind of those things that make for the difference between this body and its present mate, for this antagonism has much to do with conditions.

3. Take in the system those properties as is found in charcoal, and honey, as manufactured by Kellogg’s, Battle Creek, Michigan. Also that of the Yogurt, or milk tablet, for the inflammation through intestinal tract.

4. Take vibrations for the body of the violet ray forces, and keep the mind well filled with health, those for itself, remembering the body can only give its best for those depending upon it through physical strength, as well as through the mental and the precept.

R1. 12/10/23 Mother’s ltr.: “The reading of Mrs. [654] was rec’d. Each one you have given me seems more wonderful. It shows the wonderful gift God has given you. The rdg. was true, that is why I was and am so anxious about her, and wanted so much to know in what way I could help her, for I feel she must have help soon or I fear the result. I will see that she tries all your tr. and am hoping and praying for relief for her. Can you tell me where I can get ‘Science of Life’ or ‘Unity’ either? You want her to study or read - do you know by whom it is written? I have inquired but they do not know what it is or by whom it is written. And the ‘violet ray’ is it used over all the body? I cannot tell you how much I appreciate this reading and am hoping and praying it will help her.”

R2. 12/14/23 EC’s ltr. to Mrs. [979]:

“Yours of the 10th received. You know I am very much in hopes that the things suggested for Mrs. [654] will be of service and benefit, and, naturally, from past experiences, I believe they will be. I believe that you will find science of life, or Unity, by writing to Unity, Unity Building, Kansas City, Mo. I believe you will be able to get an outline of their course of readings and study for Mrs. [654] that will be of a great deal of benefit. We will not be able to take on any more readings until after the holidays, but by the end of Christmas week, or the first of the year, I am in hopes that we can make an engagement for you and [2657]. We will later send you some literature and cards and will designate the time that these can be attended to, if you see fit to have the reading made.

B2. 4/9/23 “I am ashamed to write after having waited so long, but I do appreciate more than I can tell you, the good your medicine has done me. I feel that I really owe my life to you. The doctors didn’t seem to know what to do for me. I began to feel better as soon as I started on the treatment you gave me, and I thank you with all my heart for what you have done for me. You certainly have a wonderful gift and may God bless you for the great good you are doing with it.

B3. 11/22/23 Mother, Mrs. [979]‘s letter: “I am writing hoping you will be able to spare me time enough to give me a reading for [654], my daughter. I told you about her when you were here. She has been very ill ever since she left Selma in Sept., is just now able to be up, but I am very uneasy about her. Please give her a good reading as soon as possible and will you please answer the following questions in her reading: Is there any work or diversion of any kind this body can do to help it? In what climate or where, or with whom, could this body be at its best? Is there anything her mother can do to help her?

“Mr. Cayce, please answer these questions - they mean so much to her and to me. If I could only know what I could do to help her - I feel so anxious about her, and I have so much faith in your readings, I feel you can help her and me. I know you saved her life sometime ago and I feel you can help now… Give her the reading at any time, as she has not been able to be away from her room but once since Sept., then just to take a short auto ride. Her address is … Send the reading to me, please… Selma will miss you, but God can use you there, and may His richest blessing be with you and yours.”
