This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Va. Beach, Va., this 4th day of August, 1933, in accordance with request made by Mrs. [903], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mrs. [903] and Mrs. [2511], and L. B. Cayce.]

Time of Reading 3:15 to 3:30 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Va. (Physical Suggestion)

  1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [759]; this we have had before.

  2. In the general, we find the physical forces of the body very good. There are, as we find, still those corrections needed in the upper dorsal and cervical area, that will prevent the disorders arising in throat and head.

  3. With the repressions in the dorsal and cervical area, there tends to be the lack of proper impulse in the nerve forces that distribute or relieve the circulation from those portions of the system. And the natural condition, when overheated, or cold, or congestion, or over-anxiety, or activities of the body, is to produce an extra flow of circulation to head, neck, throat and nasal passages.

  4. Then, without the proper incentive for relieving the used forces, this produces a tickling sensation first, then a fullness, that will produce snuffles, or the formations in the throat and nasal passages of obstructive influences.

  5. Hence the manipulations or corrective forces, osteopathically, as we find, would relieve these general conditions.

  6. The developments in the body physically and mentally are very good.

  7. Ready for questions.

  8. (Q) How can the itching in throat be relieved when he has it? (A) First is to remove the cause! But, when there is the reaction, half a dram of alum in three drams of sugar (the proportion) - just a little of this allowed to melt and swallow will relieve the condition.

  9. (Q) What is most effective for his stopped up nose? (A) Inhalation of a compound, for this body, which would be:

To 4 ounces of pure alcohol, add, in the order given:

Oil of Eucalyptol…20 minims, Oil of Rectified Turp… 3 minims, Benzoin, Tincture of…10 minims, Liquid Benzosol (saturated solution)…5 minims, Tolu in solution…30 minims.

Keep in a glass corked container at least twice the size of the quantity of solution. Shake and inhale in nostril.

This acts as an antiseptic, and will relieve the fullness immediately.

  1. (Q) What nose drops, when needed, are effective? (A) If desired, the above will make as good a nose drop as may be obtained. Add water to a teaspoonful of the solution. Add a teaspoonful of water. Use as a drop in the nostril.

The better would be to inhale the fumes.

  1. (Q) How long may he remain in water - the ocean? (A) This depends, to be sure, upon the atmospheric pressure and the temperature of the atmosphere. But not longer than twenty to thirty minutes at each period.

  2. (Q) Is the water, while he is in the ocean, injurious to his throat, nose or ear? (A) Might be considered injurious to ear; not nose or throat.

  3. (Q) Should there be any protection to his ears? (A) It would be better for everyone that goes in water to have the ears protected.

  4. (Q) With what? (A) Cotton, or regular ear protectors.

  5. (Q) Should tonsils be removed this fall? (A) This depends upon whether there is carried out those suggestions that we have given for the removal of the cause or not! If these are carried out, as we find, the removal of tonsils would NOT be necessary! Otherwise, it may become necessary - and STILL NOT relieve the condition!

  6. (Q) Should there be a change in his diet? (A) Only as the developing body makes the necessity for same.

  7. (Q) Would Dr. Crews be the one to give the treatments while he’s at the Beach? (A) As there is in the vicinity an expert in such conditions, why use the ordinary! You have the best close to you! [M. L. Richardson, D.O.]

  8. (Q) What relief does Mineral Oil give to the nose? (A) Only allays the tendency of plethora in the muco-membranes.

  9. (Q) Should any special work be done for a clearer enunciation? (A) Have the specialist work on the body as we have given, and WATCH the difference!

  10. (Q) Is he having a proper mental and spiritual development? (A) Very good.

  11. (Q) Any more advice for him? (A) This is well in the present.

We would follow along those lines suggested for the PHYSICAL corrections in the body.

Keep in those same manners and channels that have been set forth for the mental and spiritual development, and we will find a normal reaction with the body.

  1. That is all the questions regarding this body.

  2. We are through with this reading.
