This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 15th day of February, 1934, in accordance with request made by the father - Mr. [257], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.
[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. L. B. Cayce.]
Time of Reading 12:15 to 12:30 Noon - Eastern Standard Time. New York City. (Physical Suggestion)
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here; [759] this we have had before. As we find, there are general improvements in the physical forces of the body. There’s only the necessity of those precautions that have been given as to those activities about the body, and that have been indicated through such information here. The proper precautions that there are not left dregs of the infectious forces that have disturbed the body, by their contraction in glands or in muscular and sinew forces of the body or organs themselves. And when this is done we will find the general improvement would be along those ways that would be most helpful and beneficial to the body.
-
Ready for questions.
-
In keeping the eliminations and these precautions, it means that no cold or congestion or exposure, over-eating, or any of those things that make for excesses in the activities of glands in assimilation; and that there be food values that are building to the nerve and blood energy. Not too much sweets. No fats or meats, though the BROTHS of these, of course, may be taken. Rather a perfect citrus fruit diet, plenty of grapes and things of that nature, or fruits of all kinds (except apples). Oranges, pears, plums, any of these will be well and should be preferably taken to anything other than VEGETABLE juices that may be taken at times; but no meats, no candies, no fruits that carry quantities of sugar on them.
-
(Q) What causes his feet to hurt at various times, and what should be done about them? (A) Tendency for the glands about the locomotaries to be affected by the poisons from accumulations of used forces by the temperature that has been produced in the body. These massaged from the hips downward would be very well.
-
(Q) What will stop his coughing? (A) It has been improved. But cleanse the system from poisons and the effect of the infectious forces in the system, from the temperature itself, and keep the body from contracting cold or from drafts or from excesses in food forces - as indicated.
-
(Q) How long shall we keep him abed? (A) Until there is no temperature and until there’s little or no danger from cold, and until the strength of the body is sufficient for the activities indoors - not too much in the open for some time yet.
-
(Q) Doctors call it scarlet fever. Is it? (A) We have given that as we have found. [See 903-22.]
-
(Q) When is period of contagion over? (A) When the portions of the body that have been affected in the cuticle begin to make for the growing of the new skin. When it is all cleansed off, the infection is past; for in portions of the body you may find loose skin or where it is peeling, as it does from violent forces from roseola - or rose fever.
-
That is all the questions regarding this body.
-
Keep the bowels open by those forms of laxatives that are from vegetable or fruit, and NOT from minerals.
-
We are through with this reading.
Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 3/3/34 Mr. [257]‘s letter: “The sign was removed today for scarlet fever. Both babies ([759] and [773]) still have temperature last night… We appreciate the rdgs. we rec’d and I hope before long we will be able to arrange complete and full physicals on all of us.”
R2. 3/4/34 “This morning (Sunday) for first time I took [759] into my room. I said, ‘Now tell me, [759], when you complained that your feet hurt you so, did they really hurt, or were you jesting?’ He answered, ‘They hurt some. Anyway, didn’t Mr. Cayce say my feet hurt? and if Mr. Cayce says so, it must be so!’ Judge, [903] and I were both amazed - it shows how he listens and reasons, and believe me you have one ‘Cayce boy’ there. I thought you’d be interested in a 5 yr. old impromptu opinion.”
R3. 5/23/34 “I sent [759] west (to his mother’s parents, Mr. [1963] and Mrs. [1997]) because he did not seem to be able to get back his full strength and I felt that the wild West at this time of the year would do him a lot of good.”
R4. 5/28/34 EC’s ltr. to Mr. [257]: “I just had a letter from [2667] in Chicago, telling me he saw the boys ([759] and [773]) as they came through there, and how well they were looking.”
R5. 9/18/34 EC’s ltr.: “I’m sure you and [903] are both glad to have the boys back. I hope they are fine and dandy. I know they both enjoyed the summer, and [903]‘s parents enjoyed having them.”
R6. 11/6/34 See 759-10 for tonsillitis.
