This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 22nd day of June, 1939, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [808], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mrs. [808] and Mr. [2784], and friend.]

Time of Reading 4:20 to 4:30 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Va.

  1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions she has submitted, as I ask them:

  2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [808].

  3. As we find, conditions are very satisfactory in the GENERAL way and manner.

  4. That there has been and still is anxiety at times, owing to the very NATURE and character of disturbance which has existed, may be expected.

  5. In the present we would advise a tonic for the body in the form of Codiron; not before this would it have been well, else it would have been given. For the glandular forces were not sufficiently advanced in their coordinant activity to have given a tonic of this kind for the body.

  6. Take one pellet each day at first, for at least ten days; take it preferably at the meal of the day at which the MOST food is taken. After taking it the first ten days, then leave it off for five days. Then begin again and take TWO tablets at the one meal, for ten days. And then leave off for five. Then begin again, but at that time taking ONE tablet at EACH meal. And this means WITH the meal, not before, not after, but during the meal; so that the properties, the vitamins that are released by the use of this IN the digestive fluids may act better with the body. This quantity of iron will not overstimulate the heart, but will make for a better rhythmic vitality and a better or nearer normal metabolism, because of the vitamins and the sources of activity of the cod liver oil in same, as well as making for a more normal katabolism.

  7. We would take often the liver, or Liver Extract. If it is preferable to take the liver, take a little of it broiled, at least twice a week.

  8. Do these, and keep those exercises that have been indicated, that are well. Keep as much in the open each day as practical.

  9. And when there is the inclination or tendency towards the weakness, or even a slight headache, REST sufficient, and take a hot and cold bath. This means one right after the other, two or three times; and we will find a great change and a betterment for the body.

  10. And a little of weight will not HURT the body, - but just keep the diets in the order as indicated, and we will keep better forces for this body.

  11. Ready for questions.

  12. (Q) Should I continue taking Atomidine? and Emmenin gland medicines? (A) As we find, when there are the periods of the rest from taking the Codiron, during those five days take the Atomidine AND the gland medicine only on those days.

  13. (Q) What causes periods of exhaustion? (A) Nerves!

There is not sufficient activity between the red blood and white blood supply through the plasm by the activity of the energies in the coordination between the glandular assimilating and the activity of the glands that aid in the distribution of assimilation.

Hence, as we have indicated, there will be added by the use of this tonic those hormones that will aid in the hemoglobin to make the metabolism as well as katabolism more normal, and will make for the ability of stored energy. It is almost as if the energies of the body are run down, and need to be wound again.

But do those things as indicated, and we will have the better conditions for this body.

  1. (Q) Occasionally I get quite severe pains in the abdomen. What causes this? (A) Those conditions in the lower end of the cerebrospinal system, or the brush end, which is through the sacral and lumbar areas, and thus have their reflex activity through the abdomen and to the organs of the pelvis, - that cause the nerve exhaustion. And this has a reaction upon the nerves of the organs of the pelvis, thus causing those unpleasant disturbances.

With the change as indicated, and the hot and cold baths when such exhaustion occurs, it will tend to equalize through the very change of the temperatures the superficial and deeper circulation, and thus sooner equalize the body-energies.

  1. We are through for the present.
