Time of Reading 4:15 to 4:20 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. Washington, D.C.

GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions she has submitted, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here.
-
Now as we find, there has been an upsetting of the glandular forces as to be somewhat of a revertion to conditions where the superficial circulation, it might be said, becomes allergic to cold and heat. And these have brought about a great mental disturbance.
-
Rest has aided a great deal in alleviating these disturbances.
-
As we find, the activity of the low - not frequent but the low form of the deep diathermy would be most helpful; that which would add as it were to the circulatory forces, or nerve centers, a WARMING. That not sufficient to produce a violent or vibratory reaction, would be the more helpful.
-
Then also we would keep a balance in activity as has been outlined heretofore; with the coordinating, through GENTLE massages, the centers along the cerebrospinal system, especially in those areas where the cerebrospinal and sympathetic are in closer connection by their relative or related activity. As the lumbar axis, solar plexus or 9th dorsal, 3rd and 4th dorsal, THROUGHOUT the cervical area and especially in the 3rd and 4th cervical.
-
The diathermy would be given once a week or once in ten days, and for about thirty minutes duration at a time.
-
The gentle massage should be two or three times a week, or until the body has in a manner adjusted itself.
-
As much as possible keep away from sedatives of any nature.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) What caused this general run-down condition? (A) As indicated, the cycle in which there is the reaction between the superficial and the deeper circulation, owing to what may be called a general cycle from the very nature of CHARACTER of poisons as first produced the condition - or mercury reaction. [See 808-1 affidavit notation in re poison.]
-
(Q) What should I do to prevent a reoccurrence? (A) As such arises, then use such natures as will bring a general reaction for better eliminations, see?
-
(Q) Are my glands functioning properly? (A) They are BEGINNING to function better. If they had been functioning properly, it would not be necessary to create an influence to make for a better balance in the heat waves through the body!
-
(Q) Should I continue to take Emmenin Liquid (Ovarian gland medicine) as prescribed for me by Dr. Wolohon? (A) This is not so harmful, but as it adds to the necessity for greater eliminations in some directions, and does not purify but clogs some glands, we would take it more irregularly; that is, take it for periods and leave it off. And during the periods that it is left off we would take small doses of the Atomidine, and it will purify the glandular force and make the activative force of the glandular extract (of which this is, of course, a part) more effective.
-
(Q) What dosage each day of the Atomidine? (A) One minim when taken. Don’t take this during the time the other glandular extracts are taken.
-
(Q) Are the new attachments recently purchased for my Radio- Active Appliance alright or is my machine operating properly? (A) This should be rebuilt.
-
(Q) What should I do to get rid of this cold? (A) Alkalize; that is, keep the feet warm and dry, and the eliminations above the ordinary, and away from sweets: having plenty of sleep and plenty of rest, but exercise in the open as much as practical.

Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 12/17/38 Ltr. from [808] to EC:
Dear Dr. Cayce:
Received my reading last night for which I thank you very much. It is very clear and I have already called Dr. Bolkhardt this morning and will start my treatments Monday. I’m going to have the diathermy once a week with the massage and Dr. Bolkhardt said he would teach [2784] how to give me the massage as you indicated so he can give me the massage twice a week. I’m hoping that he will be able to do it satisfactory but Dr. Bolkhardt will soon find out if he can’t and then I will just have to have them from him. I am wondering about my radio-active - I gather the impression from my reading that it isn’t working properly, don’t you? How do they rebuild it - Do I send the battery to the Home Remedies place? Do you know how much they charge to rebuild it or should I write to them? I hate to bother you will all these questions. [2784] said it won’t be long now before I will be entirely well! We both have every confidence in you and you can be assured that your instructions will be carried out to the letter.
R2. 1/3/38 Ltr. from [808] to EC: I had my third treatment from Dr. Bolkhardt yesterday and I’m really feeling so much better. I enjoyed the New Year holidays much more than the Christmas holidays as I was pretty much worn out those three days and didn’t enjoy anything. I think I tired myself the day before Christmas and it was hard for me to get rested. I’m sleeping much better now too and naturally too. I’m going to be very careful not to get overtired and see if I can’t build up these glands and nerves so that I won’t ever have any relapses. You know you mentioned specifically the places in my back that should be massaged gently? Well, those particular spots are so sore that I couldn’t stand very much pressure, but yesterday they didn’t feel so sore and Dr. Bolkhardt said my back is much better. Apparently the massage has circulated some of the blood through the congested areas. That’s what Dr. Bolkhardt said. I wish you could see [2784] giving me a massage. It makes him so sleepy he can hardly stand up. One night he was giving me a massage with one hand and leaning on me full strength with the other. Not for very long, however! I told him he was supposed to put me to sleep, not himself. Dr. Bolkhardt showed him the exact places specified by you and he really gives me as good a massage as Dr. Bolkhardt. It certainly is soothing. As a matter of fact both the diathermy and massage are soothing and not at all hard to take.

B2. 11/18/38 Ltr. to EC from [808]:
Dear Dr. Cayce:
Received your special delivery letter this morning and certainly appreciated hearing from you. It is probably just as well that you couldn’t give me an appointment on Sunday because I don’t believe I feel equal to making the trip. I don’t know what has gone wrong all of a sudden but I certainly have been a wreck - I haven’t been able to sleep, eat, and am hysterical most of the time. I was getting despondent so [2784] took me to the Sanitarium and they suggested that they put me to bed for a week. I agreed to do that because my body is so tired even although my nerves won’t relax and at the end of that time you might be feeling more up to par and give me my Check Reading. While I’m out there I probably won’t be able to carry out your instructions anyway - The only thing they will do is put me to bed, give me those hot and cold baths and feed me. However, that shouldn’t interfere with anything you might tell me and than you can put the final touches to make me well. I feel desperate right now and […] really made the decision for me. So you cancel my appointment for Monday afternoon and I will let you know just as soon as I get out of there and if you feel up to it, I would like to receive a Check Reading and really find out what is causing this set-back. I know that you are the only one that can tell me definitely and it makes me feel better to know that I have a human X-Ray machine available to help mend my difficulties. I had Dr. Bolkhardt give me three of those electrical treatments that you prescribed on the nervous centers and I used the Radio Active religiously but apparently some disturbance was just keeping those things from reacting properly. I’m sure you would know if you could give me a reading and we will find out when I get one.
B3. 11/22/38 Ltr. to EC from [808]:
WASHINGTON SANITARIUM AND HOSPITAL Takoma Park, Washington, D.C.
Dear Dr. Cayce:
Just a note to let you know I’m feeling much better. I can’t understand what happened to me all of a sudden, but whatever the disturbance may be, my reading will reveal. I’m taking these baths & nerve tonic & also sleeping pills so you will have to prescribe a natural remedy to make me sleep when I get home which I hope will be soon. Dr. Wolohon insisted that I have a metabolism made so the report came in today & it was - 10 the first time & the second time - 18. He said it is still low but not as bad as it was last time. Three years ago when I had it made before I was fortunate to meet you, it was - 27, so that is quite an improvement. I’m going to think of some questions to ask so will send them to you before you give the next Check Readings. I hate to start taking a lot of dope to make me sleep but I honestly had to do something. I even took a set of those diathermy treatments on the nervous system as you ordered for me three years ago & although it might have helped some, it didn’t relax me enough to sleep. I do wish I could see you in person - I am sure that would help me a lot. Well, anyway, I’m not going to worry because I’m sure you will get me straightened out soon. I don’t have much confidence in anyone except you although this rest is probably doing some good & they have given me excellent meals.
How are you feeling? I do hope you are entirely rid of your cold & feeling perfectly normal again.
The house is coming along fine & poor [2784] surely has had his hands full with the house & me but he is surviving very nicely & says too that just as soon as I get quieted to the extent where I can go home, you will straighten me out & prescribe something to relax me naturally. I also want to ask if my radio active is working alright. It seemed to irritate rather than soothe. I’ll try to remember to include that in my questions.
Do thank you so much for your consideration & kindness & I am looking forward to your diagnosis.
Remember us to all & do let us know how you are feeling.
With love to all, [808]
P.S. Will invite you again in a few days when I find out definitely when I can leave.
B4. 12/5/38 Ltr. to EC from [808]:
Washington, D.C.
Dear Mr. Cayce:
Well, I’m home at last - [2784] brought me home Saturday night. I would have been home before that but I caught cold on Tuesday and the doctor wouldn’t release me. However, it is much better now and although I’m still doctoring it, I’m hopeful that I will be out of here before long.
Anytime you give the Check Readings now, Mr. Cayce, I would like for you to give me mine if you will. I will be at home anytime you say if you will just let me know. I’m going back to office just as soon as I get my strength back and get rid of this cold, but even if I have gone back to office I can arrange to be off for a few hours. I’m enclosing a few questions that I would like to ask.
We listened to Hugh Lynn’s “Mysteries of the Mind” yesterday and the first thing I did this morning was write to the WOR Broadcasting Station indicating how much we enjoyed it and telling them we would be listening next Sunday at the same time. I surely did laugh at [2784] - He was very much interested in it but in between cases he would say “Why don’t they say something about Mr. Cayce - I want to hear about Mr. Cayce”. After it was over he said it was very interesting and he enjoyed it but doggone it they didn’t say anything about Mr. Cayce and he didn’t like that. He was cute and I surely did laugh at him. We will be listening next Sunday too and I will tell my friends about it and get them to write in to the broadcasting station.
I received your letter at the Sanitarium and it surely did give me a “lift”. How are you feeling now, Mr. Cayce? Have you recovered completely from your cold? I sincerely hope so and also hope that Mrs. Cayce and the others are well. Do remember us to them.
I don’t think we will be in our house before January 1st now. [2784] is going to have the heat turned on just as soon as the electricity is in so that it will be good and dry before we move in. He thinks too it probably will be better for you to get me in a better condition before I move too. I really am much better now and have been quite encouraged. I don’t know whether I just needed the rest or not but something they did to me out at the Sanitarium certainly made me feel a lot better. Dr. Wolohon gave me a new gland medicine to take which I am asking about in my questions. I don’t know whether it was the gland medicine or the rest, food and treatments in general, but if it hadn’t been for this cold I would have been fine. However, you are still my doctor - I will follow your instructions as before.
Hoping to hear from you soon
With love, [808]
