HLC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here.
-
Many changes have taken place in the general physical forces of this body since last we had same here. Most of these in the physical have been for betterment.
-
In the present there are disturbing forces not only through the physical forces but the mental attitudes and the general outlook, that need physical adjustment as well as the better mental aptitude towards the general influences about the body.
-
As we find, through the general run-down condition of the body mentally AND physically, there is an inclination for torpidity of the liver, and the formation at times of a strep that saps the vitality and the strength of the body; producing a very fertile field for the activity of ANY disturbances through the general body.
-
In this connection, as we find, we would first suggest a GENERAL tonic that would be body-eliminating and body-building in its reaction upon the system, - that is, we would take consistently the compound known as Grove’s Tasteless Chill Tonic; a teaspoonful three times each day, early of morning before the meal; early in the afternoon before the evening meal, and when the rest from labors begins; and just before retiring at night.
-
Also we would set up GENERAL eliminations through the use of colonic irrigations, to assist in purifying and cleansing the colon of the toxic forces that add to the general physical disturbance.
-
Eat plenty of GRAPES, and especially drink fresh grape juice; at least an ounce each day. The Concord variety would be better for this body at this special time.
-
In the general diet, have plenty of fish, fowl and lamb, but none of these fried, - rather roast, broiled or the like.
-
Have plenty of vegetables, all well cooked.
-
Beware of too many tomatoes or melons of any variety.
-
Drink plenty of water at all times; at least six to ten glasses should be taken each day.
-
Doing these, we should make for a great deal better physical condition.
-
Then, in the general attitude of the body; the general emotions:
-
To be sure, refrain as much as possible from any condemnation of self or of others.
-
Rather BUSY self - in any spare time - with doing for others that which brings hope or confidence or faith to those needy, to those in distress, to those in disappointments, to those who find life’s pathway strewn with discouragements. These are activities that CHANGE the attitude and aptitudes to the looking for, the expecting, and the appreciation of the blessings in self’s own experience.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) For the physical and mental welfare of the body, should she remain in her present position or seek employment elsewhere, and if so, where? (A) DO NOT RUN AWAY FROM SELF! For the present, stay in the present environs. Later, when there are conditions as may bring about the opportunities for change, this will be well.
For, to attempt to run away, or to bring any condition in which individuals would blame or condemn self or others, only adds to discouraging influences for the mental body.
- We are through for the present.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 9/2/40 “I really did feel awful when I wrote you, but am so very glad to say I’m feeling much better, have acquired a good appetite and, believe it or not, am actually gaining. Weigh 108 1/2 pounds, more than I have weighed since February. Mother says that tonic surely is good, for you should see me eat! Seems as if I might be ‘quints’ from the amount I consume. But, I am feeling better (told Mother it might be the effect the reading had on me when I knew there was nothing very serious the matter with me) and want to say just ‘thanks awfully for your kindness in every respect.’”
R2. 8/11/41 She wired for 1312-5 for her mother.
R3. 8/15/42 She obtained another Ck. Physical - 852-18.
R4. 3/14/44 She got married again.
