This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce in the office of the Association on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 4th day of April, 1941, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [934], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 11:05 to 11:10 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Ohio.

1. HLC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes.

3. As we find, there are the acute conditions from inflammation of the glands, accompanied with congestion and infectious activity in lymph circulation - or measles.

4. While there are disturbances in the glands of the throat, and about the head and neck, we find that in three to four days the conditions should be clearing; if the body remains quiet, and warm, taking the Yellow Saffron Tea at least two or three times each day; keeping up good eliminations, and only taking the liquid or semi-liquid diet.

5. Do not overtax the eyes, nor be too active through the periods of this disturbance, - for the after effects are the more often to be considered than the dread of the disease itself, see?

6. Do that, keeping those precautions indicated, and all should be well.

7. Ready for questions.

8. (Q) Is there any danger from the large lumps behind ears? (A) Of course, there’s always danger, - but the danger is overexposure, or getting cold, or something of that nature.

Massage these places with Atomidine, - or Carbolated Vaseline.

9. (Q) Is there any way to keep my child from catching this? (A) It’s already subject to the infection, of course.

10. (Q) Any suggestions for treatments for him that would be different from those suggested for me? [See noted in 1208-16 Reports.] (A) For the throat and nasal passages, for the child, we would keep plenty of coal oil about the throat, so that the fumes of same may be inhaled. This doesn’t apply for the mother.

But the rest of the treatment in general would be the same, - the Saffron Tea, and the Castoria - so that the body would be well broken out. But keep it quiet, and keep the room dark - especially for the child.

11. We are through for the present.

([934], I’ve had Meredith’s mail - prepaid - a bottle of Atomidine; also I’m sending some more Saffron. Did you get the Mutton Tallow that I mailed Monday? Use the Carbolated Vaseline until the Atomidine comes. They said they’d get it out today. Surely feel for […], with two cases of measles on her hands. Do be careful and don’t take more cold, get in a draft, go out too soon, or the like. I mailed some directions given in [487]‘s last Reading. With all the precautions I’ve sent you on all the recent measles cases we’ve had, you - with your nursing knowledge - should be pretty well able to “do the right thing.” Too bad this had to happen right now, when everything was going so nicely with your job and all. Do hope you’ll be feeling better, even by the time you receive this. And let me hear as soon as you can, won’t you - about you both?

Mr. Cayce says sprinkle the coal oil - kerosene - on a white sock, or the like, and keep around [1208]‘s neck - it will prevent infection from becoming congested in throat and nasal passages. This is to be done WHEN he gets the measles, of course - and he should be given the hot drinks, etc., so as to make him break out thoroughly and not leave any of it inside. Love. GD.)

R1. 4/8/41 “I’ve had sort of a setback. My eyes are all swollen, especially my right one, and it pains terribly. I can just barely see out of the left. I’ve got to get well soon. [[…], aunt] is just about dead and I’m pretty sure [1208] is getting the measles, altho’ they haven’t come out on him yet. I’m afraid I’ve lost my job but I might be able to get it back if I can get o.k. again. I’m so worried about my eyes. I’ve used the Infra Red lamp, and mutton tallow, until my face is raw. Also potato poultices. If I can’t get the grain alcohol could I use straight whiskey to rub [1208]? If you can get a ck. rdg. for me, I’d be so grateful. It’s awful to be ill and away from you all and among people who scoff and ridicule what you know to be the only thing that can help. I’d like to have called you but I can’t get to a phone.”
