This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 322 Grafton Avenue, Dayton, Ohio, this 23rd day of July, 1925, in accordance with request made by self - [1005], via [341].

1. GC: You will give the relation of this entity and the Universe, and the Universal Forces, giving the conditions that are as personalities, latent and exhibited, in the present life. Also the former appearances in the earth’s plane, giving time, place, and the name, and that in that life which built or retarded the development for the entity, giving the abilities of the present entity and to that which it may attain, and how.

2. EC: Yes, we have the entity here, with those relations with the Universe and Universal Forces, as are latent and exhibited in the present entity, with those relations with the Universal Forces as give those as urges from the appearances in the earth plane and how they affect the individual of the present day.

3. In the entering, then, we find with this entity there are many contending influences from the astrological aspect. Hence the various elements through which the entity may expect to pass in the present earth’s plane. The position, we see, is taken from that of Venus and Uranus, with Mercury and Jupiter, with adverse influences in Saturn and Neptune.

4. Then, we find these as influences or urges, as are latent and manifested at the present appearance:

5. One who is very quick tempered and unreasonable when such occurs, without thought of self or others, yet one who does not hold malice or resentment against any individual. Then beware of that environment.

6. One who feels the call and urge of all the pleasures in earth’s forces. Hence one that will need much counsel and advice in the gaining of the aspects of the results of same in individual life. One who has high ennobling influences in those with whom the entity contacts that the entity attempts to help, yet one too often harkens to those that should not be the leader of the entity. One that has the ability to become leader, yet ever in the position of desiring to be led than to be leader.

7. One we find who has turn towards things mechanical, from the viewpoint of the application of same for use of man. One we find who will through such bring much to self. One we find who can prepare self to become a salesman of any condition pertaining, especially, to machinery.

8. As to the appearances:

In the one before this we find in that of the entity who was the one to become the King of France, when the father [5618] and mother [760] [Louis 16th and Marie Antoinette] were at that time beheaded, and the entity then only gained in the knowledge of the earth’s forces through the things which the entity suffered, for the life at that time was only half a score years plus five.

10. The entity then finds that urge from this to partake of all the sports or pleasures as may be found - yet developed in that plane.

11. In the one before this we find in the days of the Crusade. The entity then in that of the second in command of the Crusaders, and in the second Crusade. In the name then of Adoirs, and was among those who first planted the flag of the Crusade in the Holy City. In the urge from this we find the latent desire to know more of religious truth and facts, yet there is the ever urge to see rather what others will do with same than to apply same to self, yet never forsaking the ennobling influence of same.

12. In the one before this we find in the rule of the peoples in the Peruvian country (now known) when the Incas were in the rule there. [See Source File Key #1005 for related papers presented at the 1964 Geological Society of America meeting in Miami Beach, re 1005-2] The entity then among those of the Temple Worship and the Priest, in the name of Kaat, and the entity then developed in that era when the forces were given to the peoples through the teachings of the entity of their relation to fellow man and the relation to Him whom people served in the Creator. In that we find the entity has the urge as pertaining to the mechanical forces in machinery, for the entity in that day prepared many of the pitfalls in the mountains, where the machineries were prepared for lifting and lowering the precious stones as were gathered under the entity’s guidance. Also preparing the waterways for protection and for assistance in gathering such jewels.

13. In the one before this we find in that of now the Northern country of the America, when the first lands were being inhabited in that region. Then in the name of Ooul, and the entity then was the first of the household of the peoples who established dwellings there, and gained much knowledge for usage of others who dwelt in that land in the latter day.

14. Then, the abilities of the entity in the present life:

In that field of gaining a better knowledge of self and the relations to pleasure and labor to the individual development of self, and applying same in a manner in which the Word of the Jehovah may be first and foremost in the entity’s endeavors, and applying same to mechanical forces or toward the salesmanship of same, for much may be done to develop many through the application of these rules in such endeavors. Then keep self in that way and ever keep the rules of the highest forces in the entity’s life, for through Him we move and have our being - so sayeth -

PRAYER BOOK HIGHLY PRIZED

Beach Resident Has Volume Once Owned By Dauphin of France

UNUSUAL STORY TOLD OF HIS ESCAPE A prayer book, said to have belonged to the Dauphin of France who would have been King Louis XVII but for the revolution, is in possession of Mrs. Charles Leonard Fisher, of Virginia Beach. This book, printed in 1805, was at one time the property of the Rev. Eleazer Williams, said to have been the dauphin.

Mrs. Fisher acquired the book, which had been passed down to her from M. C. Dunn, her great, great grandfather, who is said to have received it from friends of Mr. Williams.

If Williams was in truth the dauphin, then the son of King Louis XVI did not die as a result of cruel treatment, but was befriended, hidden and enabled to escape to the United States. History has it that the dauphin died of injuries at the age of 10, June 8, 1795.

The legend has it that a nurse was responsible for the child being smuggled from France to the United States.

Williams is credited with having served with distinction during the War of 1812. His reputed history is that he was born in 1787 at Caughnawaga, Canada.

Eleazer Williams served as a missionary to the Indians and is said to have used his prayer book during services. He died in 1858 in New York State.

Mr. Fisher prizes the book quite highly and feels that it is of unusual interest in view of the fact that the missionary who owned it was alleged to have been the dauphin of France whose parents died in the bloody revolution and who escaped a like fate by the cleverness of a nurse.

Dear Friends:

Having been a French history buff since my grade school days, for nearly half a century that is, I am of course profoundly interested in the material given under the heading “The Royal Family” in Chapter 12 of the book “Edgar Cayce and ESP” [by Doris Agee, pp 176-181, Paperback Library]; and regret very much not being privileged to have known the “Morrison” family.

Doubtless those long familiar with the readings on this group have long since gone over the speculations possible in regard to the previous identity of “Barbara”.

Madame Simon, who reportedly was harsh in her early treatment of the Dauphin [1005], but grew to love him later, and is rumored to have smuggled him out in a laundry basket when the Simons left the Temple? Some historians insist that, as an inmate of a charity home later, she had interviews after the Restoration with the Dauphin’s sister, the Duchesse d’Angouleme, insisting to that lady that the young King did not die in prison. However, there is no reason to believe that Madame Simon had any contact with the Royal Family on the flight to Varennes.

Madame de Tourzel, who had been the Dauphin’s governess, and indeed accompanied the family on the attempted flight to Belgium. Her residence with them in the Tuileries would no doubt deepen her understanding “between those of high estate and those of the keeper.”

Would “stripes laid on the body” by the entity be physical; or could this mean other chastisement? The young Dauphin was described by the Queen as being “high-spirited and often needing correction for willfulness and quickness to anger”.

The Kings’ sister, Princess Elisabeth, was with the rest of the family on the flight, and in the Temple near the young Prince until her own execution in 1794. It was to her that the condemned Queen on her last night committed the royal children in the letter which was never delivered. Perhaps it is stretching points to wonder - was Elisabeth, as bitter as the young Madame Royale over the child Dauphin’s horrendous “testimony” at the Queen’s trial, mentally inflicting “stripes” upon him, then mellowing as time went on, and she realized that he had been brainwashed by the Jacobins? Elisabeth’s religious turn of mind could very well have inspired much reflection on the relations between classes, as the Revolution raged on.

Was there definite indication given that “Charles Morrison” was the King’s second son, Louis Charles, who supposedly perished in the Temple?

Is there any indication that the young man could have been the first Dauphin, Louis Joseph, who died in 1789 at the age of 8? This of course conflicts with Cayce’s “half a score and 5 years”. Since the child’s death occurred during the meeting of the States General when the King and Queen certainly experienced being “turned back” in the sense of political rejection there might be a spiritual meaning. This theory could also bring in Madame de Polignac as a possible former personality who had hurt the Dauphin.

The bones of the boy buried in the Cemetery of Ste. - Marguerite, supposedly the night of the child’s death in June, 1795, were declared by those who examined them after the Revolution as “belonging to a boy about 15 years of age,” though the young Louis XVII was only a little past ten years of age, at the time of the death of the boy in the Temple, whoever he was. His sister, still in the Temple room just above his quarters there, was never called in to clinch the identification, though her word would certainly have been conclusive. Why?

Of all of the speculations I have encountered through the years, about the Dauphin’s fate, Meade Minnigerode’s “son of Marie Antoinette” seems most probable, though of course not conclusive. But the boy this book describes as growing up in the Swiss Alps died when considerably older than 15. (This is documented, and not just one of the many fictional volumes on the subject.)

There are so many things to wonder about the Revolutionary era in France - was there occult significance to the fact that Marie Antoinette was born on the day of the Lisbon earthquake?

Was the terrible envy of the Duc d’Orleans a hangover from some past incarnation? That of Provence could be explained from events in his own 18th century lifetime; but Orleans was never close enough to the crown to have been legitimately unsettled by any sudden loss of hope.

On of the most interesting, and chilling, books of our own time on that period, is Stanley Loomis’ “Paris in the Terror”, somehow so authentic that one is led to wonder - was he there?

Many of its observations seem so pertinent to our own time that it isn’t hard to believe that many of the dissidents of our own era were in France in the late 18th century. One quotation that I find particularly memorable is this:

“It is ironic that of all countries in Europe, France was the only one that could have had a revolution - not because she groaned under the lash of tyranny, but, on the contrary, because she tolerated and even invited every conceivable dissension and heresy. Restlessness, a passion for novelty, the pursuit of excitement, were everywhere in the air. They were the fruits of idleness and leisure, not of poverty.”
