GC: You will give the relation of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces, giving the conditions that are as personalities, latent and exhibited, in the present life. Also you will give the former appearances in the earth’s plane, giving time, place, and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity and that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer any questions which I might ask you regarding any of this.
-
EC: Yes, we have the entity here, and those relations with the universe and universal forces, as are exhibited and latent in the present personality of the individual. These (we see many exhibited in different forms as the conditions exhibited in the life of the individual) show how these have brought changes to the body from time to time.
-
In taking the position in the present earth’s plane, we find the entity took the position from Mercury, with Saturn, Jupiter and Uranus in those positions that affect the life. Hence the conditions that are existent, and have been existent in the present earth plane, of the exceptional nature, or of those conditions wherein we find they have gone to the extreme. Just when there seemed every indication and every hope for success, financially, morally, religiously, physically, those conditions did appear that seemed to turn everything topsy-turvy.
-
As to the relations these have brought and do bring to the body, then, we find:
-
The influences of the earthly existences, as we shall see, bring the greater urges, latent and exhibited, in the present earth plane; though the influence of Jupiter, square with Saturn and Uranus, brings one of very exceptional nature, eccentric in many ways and manners.
-
The entity is one, though, far from close marital relations For we find it would be late in the present earth plane before the body would come in contact with that one with whom such relations would be of a satisfactory nature, and one far from present surroundings, and very much younger in years in age.
-
One who will have much of this world’s goods to dispose of. One who follows or considers much the worldly pleasures, but one who likes or desires to enjoy the same in his own way and manner.
-
One who holds love of animal life and of children very high in esteem in his own self, and he exhibits the same, unintentionally or unthoughtedly, for it is the natural intent, as we shall see why.
-
One who finds many in whom he has placed faith or confidence have shaken that faith. One who, especially when there is the influence of Saturn’s square with the influence of Mercury, brings such conditions in the life. Yet these, with the use of will force, may be turned to that way that will prove beneficial to the development of the entity in the present earth’s plane.
-
One who will have many years in the earth plane, travelling, visiting many places; and he will seek one day those positions occupied in other spheres.
-
One who, with the influences as seen in Uranus, with Jupiter and Mercury, may gain a world of influence for good from psychic and occult forces and influences of same.
-
One who, while holding the high relations toward life in manner of the religious thought, has no secular religious thought entering into the dictates of the entity’s better forces; rather the oriental than the occidental; rather that as pertains to the universal brotherhood and the direct relations with the higher forces than any specific creed or law or line; and these we shall see why.
-
One who may give much to the world in the development of conditions that have to do with beneficence and beneficial conditions for the use of man and mankind in their physical development.
-
One who will find his greatest influence and force in following out the line of development of those things having to do with patents, or development of the same, as may be done through the analytical mind of this individual. And through the same we will find great amounts of moneys coming to the individual, from unexpected places. From places where there has been little, little, thought given as to the development of same will worldly goods come. Use them aright, then, in a way that will build to that closer connection between the divine from within and that which ever calls for the answering of self and self’s usage, to give homage to the divine that is within each and every individual.
-
As to the appearances:
-
Before this we find the entity in that name of Rhoul (?) [Raoul?], in the days of Louis XV in France. The entity then was in that office of second to the cardinal of that day [Andre Hercule De Fleury (1653-1743)?]. The rule, as was seen through the usage of ecclesiastical garments and position to make or bring about the secular and physical conditions, brought the greater distress, the greater distrust to the individual [195]. Hence there was not given the development in the manner as might have been expected, under the position which the entity then occupied (as rule). For the distrust comes at present, giving in this that urge or desire to know more of the impelling force behind each individual with whom the entity may come in contact, yet finding often that the trust as placed was misplaced.
-
Before that we find the entity was in the days when there was war between the now Arabian forces and the Persian forces, or between the nomads and the king, Croesus, in Persia. [Croesus II?] [7500 B.C.?]
-
The entity then was in the name of Oujida, who assisted in the storming of the fort wherein the captives were being held. The entity then was in the warrior and the second in command to the leader [Bedouin] of that day. With the death of the leader, we find the entity fought with the next ruler, or leader, or chief, for the position of lead. Hence the backfire, or rule, as it were; for the company fell out among themselves, and this brought the destructive forces to the entity. The urges as we see from this being that of the tenacity, the ‘stick-to-it-ive-ness’. Though little may be said, there is the ability to follow out, to keep the ends together, as it were, of every condition; and the ability to plan. Also there is exhibited the manner of sleep that is often seen or exemplified in the present from that sojourn. [GD’s note: He told me that he does sleep like an Arab, on his stomach with his face buried under his arm, as they do in the desert.]
-
Before that we find the entity was in the rule when the king in the Egyptian forces gave the greater knowledge of the indwelling of the divine in the then human forces in earth plane. The entity then was in the name of Arsrha and was the stone and the precious stone designer and carver for that entity, the ruler, Araaraart. Ra-Ta period] The entity also gave the geometrical forces to the people, being then the mathematician, and an assistant to the astrologer and soothsayer of the day. He arranged then for the first monuments that were being restored and builded in those places, being then the founder of now that mystery of mysteries, the Sphinx.
-
Before that we find the entity during the first of the appearances of man in the earth’s plane, during that period when the five appeared. The entity then was in that now of the Nevada and Utah territory in America, then in the name Udulj. The entity was among those who first wrought in iron and in ore, being the first to separate these properties into a manner that might be used for the benefit of man. In that day we find the entity becoming great in the land. And through these channels we find in the present the ability to design, to figure out in mathematical manner, to stick to, those conditions that will give the correct answer in the end toward such conditions, towards such developments of mechanical conditions, those pertaining to work with irons, or that which may be wrought with any forms of ores. [Gen. 4:22?] [See 900-426 & 900-427 in re prehistory sojourns.]
-
Then, as to how and what this entity may develop, and how he may develop in the present:
-
Follow in those ways, as has been given, in giving and in knowing the better understanding of the relation between self and the indwelling forces from within, giving much to others, that the development of self may be acceptable unto Him.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) What was this entity’s official position in France? (A) What would be termed at present as private, social, secretary to de Fleury (?).
-
(Q) In what is now Arabia, what office did this entity occupy? (A) That of the ruler, or the guard, or the general, as would be given in present parlance, of the right wing of the army of the Bedouins, who attacked the Persian ruler, Croesus. [Croesus II?] The entity then fought for the position of the leader, when the Uhjltd forces were destroyed in the plains.
-
(Q) Did this entity develop or retard in that sojourn? (A) Retarded, as given.
-
(Q) What was his life work at that time? (A) Soldier, though from same there may be gained the knowledge of the occult forces as are found in much desert dwelling.
-
(Q) What was the name of the ruler during this entity’s sojourn in Egypt? (A) Araaraart.
-
(Q) In what capacity did this entity act regarding the building of the sphinx? (A) As the monuments were being rebuilt in the plains of that now called the pyramid of Gizeh, this entity builded, laid, the foundations; that is, superintended same, figured out the geometrical position of same in relation to those buildings as were put up of that connecting the sphinx. And the data concerning same may be found in the vaults in the base of the sphinx. We see this sphinx was builded as this:
The excavations were made for same in the plains above where the temple of Isis had stood during the deluge, occurring some centuries before, when this people (and this entity among them) came in from the north country and took possession of the rule of this country, setting up the first dynasty. The entity was with that dynasty, also in the second dynasty of Araaraart, when those buildings were begun. The base of the sphinx was laid out in channels, and in the corner facing the Gizeh may be found the wording of how this was founded, giving the history of the first invading ruler and the ascension of Araaraart to that position.
- We are through for the present.

R39. 10/7/29 Young Mr. [1005]‘s father, Dr. [5618], was in Mr. [195]‘s town being treated for his serious illness [he died 10/12/29]. Young [1005] wrote from there: “Mr. [195] has been wonderfully nice to us, and I shall always owe him a debt of gratitude…I am staying with him, and he is just like a father to me.” [10/24-26/29 See 900-456 & 900-458.]
R40. 10/25/29 See EC’s ltr. to HLC, under 900-456 report, indicating that Mr. [195] lost over one hundred thousand in cool cash in the stock market crash.
R41. 10/27/29 Mr. [195] wrote: “As you know, the market went to pieces and we all took a beating. I lost $175,000.00, some of which was profits, and for the present I’ll be unable to raise any cash. However, by hedging and trading we will, as given in the readings, be able to make some turns and once more be of service. It is nice to know that we are receiving guidance in these matters, and I am only sorry we had to take such severe losses, but as I explained to [900], it is merely a test for ourselves and we will either gain or lose, depending on how we accept that which we now find has been presented to us.”
R42. 5/9/30 He obtained 195-70 on a scientific article he wrote regarding Positive and Negative Force.
R43. 5/15/30 EC wrote: “Saw Mr. [202] in N.Y. after you left, I believe it was. He also has been here - left this a.m. I don’t know whether it was he or his wife who had so much to say about meeting you, or getting a good hot line on you from some of your visits to Cincinnati. They seemed to think you are very much in love. How about it?”
R44. 5/18/30 Mr. [195] wrote: “Guess [202] and wife must have misinformed you as to any romance coming into my life. One of my goodlooking students took a trip to Cincinnati with me to see a show and I guess [202] anticipated seriousness, but I am wedded to a lot of difficult though interesting work, one that means more than anything to me. However, when the time comes, if it ever does, for me to consider a change from single blessedness, you’ll know it, for you will have to pass on it and in that reading I’ll ask plenty of questions, rivalling [257] in that respect.”
R45. 7/16/32, 7/19/32, See 538-31 and 538-32, Par. 26-A mentioning that [538] was [195]‘s daughter in the Persian-Arabian incarnation.
R46. 12/17/42 He requested a copy of Thomas Sugrue’s book THERE IS A RIVER, saying: “The lack of help even reaches into the real estate business and I am so busy that I have to work about everynight. Not making a lot of money but am having an interesting time.”
R47. 12/31/42 He wrote: “My first impression is that the book, while large, would needs be much larger to contain even a small percentage of the records of cases in which you have helped your fellow man.”
R48. 3/22/49 We heard that Mr. [195] was sending his godchild [[4666]‘s daughter] to college.
R49. 2/26/67 His goddaughter wrote: “[195], my godfather, as well as my own father [4666], have plotted and charted their lives according to Edgar Cayce’s direction. My father has passed on, but [195] is still as dedicated to his pursuits at the age of eighty-four as he was when Cayce knew him.”
R50. 7/14/29 Historical Data:
Historical Data and Connections of [195] - being a treatise on the entity’s relations and relationships with officers and trustees of the Association of National Investigators, Inc.
Compiled and edited by the Historical Committee of the Association at Virginia Beach, Va. Thomas Sugrue Hugh Lynn Cayce Gladys Davis
First appearance - FIVE NATIONS -
In the beginning, then, there was that appearance when the world was young, and few who then lived are here now. [195-l4, Par. 20—22.]
So we see in this appearance one of great gain, little or no loss. There was no contact here with those of the Association other than [l005], who also gained much in the absorption and dissemination of knowledge. These two could very well work together, [195] constructing and inventing, [1005] explaining and selling - see? [1005-2, Par. 13.]
Second appearance - EGYPT -
When the division was in the lands, and all about was strife and enmity, then was the entity again immersed in one love, and gained while others lost. [195-14, Par. 19.]
So we see now another period of great development, and along the same lines as before, thus strengthening the urge that is greatest in entity today. In this period many were met, as will be given later, but the closest was [419], who was the close associate and first assistant in the building. Though he sided with the banished priest [294] in religious feeling, when the trouble was smoothed over he came back to work with entity, and when entity [195] left earth’s plane continued to build and was greatly honored. Then in the present these two could work well together - [419] more as the actual builder and practical applicant than the designer and planner. See then [195] to plan and design - [419] to build and make practical - [1005] to sell and explain. In the future this offers wonderful possibilities. [See 419-1, Par. 14.]
Third appearance - ARABIA -
Here is a little less, but a great deal more of gain. [195-14, Par. 17—18.]
Close associations in this period, but closest was that to Edgar Cayce [294], as leader who was slain, and [2709] and [318] as commanders who fought for lead after [294]‘s death. [2709] won, and in the present there would be an urge of antagonism. It matters little now, for the man is at variance to the ideals and purposes of the Association. When he has attuned himself he can do much to help others help themselves, but for the present he is better away.
Fourth appearance - FRANCE -
Not the great development here, and one a little hindering in the present; yet all together valuable and not to be counted as loss. [195-14, Par. 16.]
Only two contacts here were close, that of [2694] and [2457]. The former was a bishop or high church official who did not keep his vows, the latter was a court lady close to Richelieu. These contacts and appearances do not affect the entity today. This was strangely a period when the entity developed without the group of Egypt and Arabia, and, today, learning by himself many great lessons of human nature and the wiles of Continental politics. As given, the distrust at times, misplaced trust at others, and a general suspicion hard to be rid of. Use intuition and common sense and the reputations of men encountered. Let not this urge cause trouble now, for there are too many good urges present to have one small one causing inharmony.
A SHORT HISTORY OF THE ARABIAN VENTURE - 7/14/29 -
Croesus [second in a long line of Croesuses?] was vast in wealth and ambition. The gold of his palace was as the raindrops of the storm, and everything about him poured beauty and goodness to his austere feet. Then his ambition reached farther, and he desired the kingdom of Persia. The oracle said that if he crossed the river he would destroy a great empire. He crossed the river and conquered.
At that time in the vicinity there dwelt many bands of outlaws, vagabonds and barbarians of the hills. Among these were the bedouins, and they were wont to fall upon unprotected parts of the kingdom of Croesus and despoil it for their gain and lust. One of these bands was under the leader called [294] Uhjltd, a very brave and daring warrior. Many times Uhjltd fell upon the possessions of Croesus, and many times the great king was bothered by this petty stealing.
So it came to pass at one time that Croesus was away, and the band of Uhjltd fell upon and captured a school of young girls, and carried them away into captivity. Under the burning desert sun these captives were marched toward an oasis, many dying along the way from cruelty and exposure. Among those to suffer such treatment was Ilya [288], niece of Croesus and companion to his adopted daughter Elia [369], who was also captured.
Now Uhjltd was captured and brought back to the city, but his band and their captives escaped, and after many hardships Uhjltd also escaped, and started to find his company. But the pain and the weakness of his condition would not permit it, and under a tree in the desert he died, with only a woman by him (this woman in the present unknown as yet). It was at this time that the psychic power now manifested was obtained, for the pain being too great to bear the entity [294] then put himself in that subconscious state where pain was not noticed.
So Uhjltd died, and in the oasis his band waited in vain. Finally they fell to wrangling about the women and the leadership, and the first and second in command battled with another to win. These three, Oujida [195], Ojhida [318], and the man [2709] today, fought for the crown, and [2709] won.
Among the women persecuted we find [2457] and [38], and among those captured and later returned we find [204], who later taught for the king.
RELATIONSHIPS
Now, as to the individual relationships -
In the first appearance only the connection with [l005], as given before. This is the only appearance with this entity, and thus the only urge is one of cooperation and understanding.
In Egypt [900] was scribe to the people, and although a native, as opposed to [204] as invader, these two did the same thing - great service for their king [34l], and in the harmony of working together for one great cause there comes the urge of cooperation and understanding this time. This is the only contact, and the urge is good.
[953] in Egypt was counsellor to the king, and gave the advice to banish the priest [294]. If there was any contact it was friendly, as both served faithfully. There is no other contact with [953], but he dislikes [900] and [137] and [257], from different appearances, and it will be well to watch this antagonism in dealing with him. He is interested now only in the archaeological, but later will come into all of it. Cooperate, and remember his urges.
You have never contacted [137] before. Both have developed well, both should be in harmony and work together, unhindered by unharmonious contacts in the past.
Only in Egypt did the entity [195] meet [257], and there [257] burned strange fire upon the altar and was banished with the priest. You may feel an antagonism toward him. Remember his three negative urges - exaggeration, misrepresentation, and the urge to hold the best of himself aloof. Help him to overcome these by setting an example in your attitude and relationship to the work. He has the right spirit, but these urges almost dominate him. Refuse to talk about the work from a purely business angle; this will get him away from that habit. He admires and respects you and your ability. Exert this influence for his own good - he needs it.
[341], the king Araaraart of Egypt, was the ruler of the entity, and a beneficent and beloved master. This only appearance tends to harmony and love and understanding between the two. Foster it, the rewards will be great.
[2694] was met in France and in Egypt. In Egypt he was go- between and fixer of misunderstandings. In the present he is affable and a wonderful person to approach someone for you. He, from the other experiences, particularly the French, is at times lackadaisical in his attitude, and needs mental stimulus and the continual reminding of the greatness of this work. No trouble here; he fits with everyone.
In Egypt [294] was banished, and thought of by you as an outlaw and traitor. But he was pardoned, and in the next appearance was your beloved ruler. So now you hold him thus, and contentedly follow the course he sets with his strange power - gained in that experience with you in Arabia. Your relationships are good now - each attracted to the other, and each understanding. No trouble here.
As the child of the banished priest [294] and the temple maiden [538], [288] was then the cause of much strife. In the next appearance she suffered much under the entity [195] and [294] as one of the girls captured in the bedouin raid. At present it is necessary to be polite and considerate with her, as she is very sensitive to slights from this urge and fears oppression.
Late in [900]‘s life as scribe, [136] appeared as his companion in Egypt. Amicable relations with entity [195], and this only contact leaves a pleasant urge.
[538] is met only in Egypt, though she may have known the entity when he was very old in France [GD’s note: See later rdgs. indicating that [538] was the child of [195] and [369] in Arabia]. Urge of fear as a trouble maker, if any, but this is probably overcome by her being the wife of [294] now, and having so well overcome her early losses.
[165] was first king in Egypt, and looked on all the followers as beneath him, and sometimes going astray. Pitted his son [341] against [900], and feels yet that [900] is incapable in ability. Be careful with him. Teach him, and take him with you, but do not shut him out because he does not understand as yet. Help him overcome his urges - one of which is conceit and urge to dominate.
You have never before come in contact with [903]. Watch her as cooperating with [257], and feeling antagonistic towards you because she thinks you are bucking [257].
[204] taught and interpreted in Egypt, and was a co-worker with you under the king of that day. In the next period he was captured and persecuted by you and by [294]. Be careful that he does not feel the same urge - that you are dominating him. Handle him diplomatically, with gloves. As with [165], so with [204] - put them in sort of vice-president position - where they will feel as if they held the reins, yet will in reality only have their one function, the one they are suited for.
As leader of a native rebellion [849] would appear as an enemy, but he was forgiven, and gained, and in the later appearances was three times a priest and philosopher - and always a writer. Hence now he is in the proper attunement, and is very close to [900] and [341]. Can understand easily, and can be approached openmindedly on any subject. His work will bring him close to you. Capable for any kind of publicity.
[5618] was an old sage and mediator in Egypt. Today he can exert the same force of holding together both factions. He leans to you and your angle.
[760], as daughter of [165] in Egypt, came into a family contact, from which springs a pleasant urge.
[5673] can now, as in Egypt, be looked to for help and sympathy in her office.
[5453] in Egypt was a leader of the laymen, and then, as now, willingly serves the recognized leaders. No trouble.
In this entity [195]‘s relationships, then, it seems he is peculiarly fortunate in having a friendly urge toward most everyone in the work. Then as mediator, tolerant judge, and firm upholder, he can do much to mold a smoother organization. DO IT!
R51. 4/23/71 GD’s note: At this late date I must add a postscript to the above last paragraph and say that Mr. [195] DID to the best of his ability live up to his part in “the work” by being friendly and helpful as a mediator, tolerant judge, and firm upholder.
