This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 18th day of November, 1926, in accordance with request made by self - [419].

1. GC: You will give the relation of this entity and the Universe, and the Universal Forces, giving the conditions that are as personalities, latent and exhibited, in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth’s plane, giving time, place, and the name, and that in that life which built or retarded the development for the entity, giving the abilities of the present entity and to that which it may attain, and how.

2. EC: Yes, we have the entity and those relations with the Universe and Universal Forces, as are manifested and as are latent and exhibited in inner urges in the present earth’s plane.

3. In taking the position in the earth’s plane, we find the entity coming under the influence of Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, and of Neptune, with those influences as are manifested and are latent in Venus and in Saturn.

4. In the conditions then as respecting will’s force, and in those of that as urges irrespective of will’s force - for we will find in the present sojourn in the earth’s plane as many varying phases of urges as have been in that shown in environmental, temperamental, association, and of the urges as are hindered - yet with will’s force many of those conditions as act as hindrances will be overcome through those influences as are seen to come in the life in the urge and influence as is seen in forces as latent urges and ways and means of manifesting same in the latter and middle years:

We find one then that seemed as handicapped in many respects through environmental conditions as have appeared in Mars and in Saturn’s influence, [His mother died when he was a baby, etc.] yet in the receding conditions and influences, as has been seen in Mars’ influence in the life - in stature beyond that which had been thought, felt, seen, known or experienced by those that would view or study same. In the mental attributes the same environmental and the same urges are seen and manifested, and, as is seen when will’s influence is manifested by the entity, there is the exceptional abilities seen and manifested in the entity - for, as is seen, there remains that unusual influence in the life of the entity which, taken advantage of, will bring joy, pleasure, greatness, fame, money and position to the entity, [if these are] are these but applied and used with will forces in the preparation and in the manifesting of those conditions as come to the entity through natural and through application of will’s influence in the life.

6. One then temperamental, easily flares up - easily forgets, outwardly - inwardly remembers much, and much grudge is held often to the detriment of the entity.

7. One peculiar in likes and dislikes.

8. One that will bring more and more into the life those surroundings of peculiar natures, as is considered from the viewpoint of one considering a life purely from the standpoint of environmental conditions.

9. One given especially to those conditions pertaining to mechanical means of things, yet these are easily and soon forgotten, for a new element of the different nature in the mechanical line. This, as we shall see, coming much from latent urges and, as is seen and as has been given, many conditions through will’s force may be turned into good channels or in bad.

10. The greater store of environmental forces that influence the life being those as pertain to those influences in Venus and in Neptune, pertaining especially in this entity to the love of that vocational training and influence the entity may will to choose for self. Hence the heights that the entity may attain in same for self.

11. In the appearances we find many of the urges as are seen in the present life or experience latent and manifested in various ways and manners.

12. In the one before this we find in the days when wars were made in the land now known as England, between the peoples and the rulers. The entity then a councillor to the king, [Charles I?] in the name then Burgess, and the entity in close personal touch with that ruler and favored by the queen. [Now his Aunt [265]] In the urge as is seen, the entity dislikes the rule of power of uprising, yet is ever in accord with those already in power - never, as it were, choosing sides with the under dog. In the elements then, we find the entity neither gained nor lost, to the extent of saying that which developed or retarded, for that in which the entity might have applied, little application was shown.

13. In the one before this we find in the Grecian world, during that period when the land was under the supervision, rather than rule, of Xenophon. The entity then among those who held to those of that which has been later termed the classic Grecian periods, gaining much in power by the abilities of the entity in the arts of that land, and the urge as is seen is that inclination in entity towards those conditions as pertain to commercial art, and that which the entity would make great successes in, in fame, fortune, or position - yet this carries that same element of self control must be applied, for, as in the later urge is seen inactivity, over-activity toward that which does not carry that element of the service to the highest forces, as well as to mankind, brings not the greater success as may be attained in an earthly experience. In this experience the entity in the name Xenxia, and the entity gained and lost, for with power, and with the succumbing to the desires of the flesh, through the death of the one in control - the entity usurped the power to self, and brought condemnation, and hence we find those latent forces as are seen in the present experience - a little can the entity bear to be made fun of in any form or manner without being ready to fight.

14. In the one before this we find in that period when church and state - as would be termed in the present day parlance [were divided] - in that land now known as Egyptian. Ra-Ta period] The entity among those who prepared those edifices during that period, in plan, and in the way for the builders to do the actual work. Then in the name of Zeous. The entity siding then with the deposed priest, and losing favor with the king for the amount of enthusiasm shown for the priest - yet in settling of these conditions, we find there were buildings and buildings built or prepared, or dedicated to this great builder. In the urge there is seen that desire to remain near when all things are known, and the fear to push out into new fields - yet when this occurs, we will find the entity going fast, far, high, and with will’s forces applying to keep close in that way in which SERVICE TO OTHERS may be given, will bring much to the entity in every way and manner.

15. In the one before this we find in that known as the Atlantean period, when those first of the explosives were made. The entity then associated with that one [[487], from India? See 487-4] that gave to the peoples the first combination of chemicals that gave explosives in a manner to be handled by peoples. The entity then in the name Ececo, and the entity gained in that period through the ability to take orders, and, as is seen in the present experience, that desire to know something of every mechanical device - yet all are easily forgotten or changed for another.

16. As to the abilities and how the entity may attain same: As given, in that field of applied arts would be the greater field for application of those inert [innate], those latent forces and powers, and the exercising of the abilities and talents - yet first should the entity make self aright with those forces, those powers, through which man may understand its relation to the Creative Energy in the Universal sense - for in the forte of an artist does the entity create - in the sense of the mental abilities SURPASS the normal, and to give self credit - rather than that service to man and through man serve the Creative Energy - the entity may lose self.

17. Apply then first through that knowledge of self, and of that due the Creative Energy or force in God for keeping thy paths straight - remembering that in HIM is life and light, and build the life in the light of Him, would [if] the greater forces before men [would] be attained.

18. We are through for the present.

R1. 12/28/26 “I got the Life Rdg. and after getting Aunt [760] to read it over a time or two and explain it, and after reading it myself, I got the meaning of it and think I will profit if I carry out your instructions. I see where [487] and I were in partnership back in one of those bygone ages. I almost knew beforehand that we were. I can’t explain or express how much I appreciate your giving it for me and certainly hope if ever I can do anything for you, you will let me know… I landed the place in the High School Orchestra and will get my credit on it. Aunt [265] said I couldn’t ever have energy enough to get it… Please excuse the way I write, as [1005] is practising on his saxophone.”

R5. 9/27/32 “I may be a cussed, hard-boiled, good-for-nothing egg, but I feel that my heart is in the right place, and I will tell you frankly that I get more out of doing something for the other fellow than anything else.”

R6. 10/12/33 He obtained a Ck. Life Rdg., 419-3, and on 8/2/34 Rdg. 419-4.

R7. 1/21/38 He wrote that he was working as a highway patrol motorcycle traffic cop.

R8. 9/14/40 I wish [487] and I could concoct the same formula that we blew Atlantis off the face of the map with and put the whole works under that bunch of Germans over there. I think the sooner we start killing them off the better off the whole World will be.

R9. 4/19/42 He got married to Miss [2921] (He was deferred from Army because of motorcycle injury to leg); 5/11/44 He wrote about his baby son.

R10. 8/4/47 Letter and subsequent letters through ‘53 indicate that his wife, Mrs. [2921], became an invalid, and his responsibility was great in regard to keeping the home fires burning, rearing his son, etc.

R11. 1/15/60 Niece Mrs. [852]‘s letter: “[419] has a mighty good position - is parole officer for three counties here in …, Ky. His office is located in our court house here, and he has a secretary who takes care of any detail that comes up while he has to be out of town checking up on some case in one of the adjoining counties. He has been commended by the State Office in … for the manner in which he files his reports and case histories. [419] has always been so exacting in his work and a great person for detail work.”

R12. 7/27/60 Niece [852] advised that [419] died early this a.m. with heart attack.

B2. 10/15/26 “When you get time will you give me a Life Rdg.? They have all been talking about it and said they would like to know what I had been in past times, and they thought [487] and I had been connected in some way. I, too, have a great curiosity to know what I have been and what would be best for me to do to make a success, and I think if anybody could tell me it would be you. There are two questions I would like to ask: Have [487] and I ever been connected in any way, and if so in what way? Also have I ever known a girl in the past whose name is now Mildred…” [11/18/26 His Aunt [265] was present.]
