This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 24th day of May, 1940, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [1196], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 3:45 to 3:55 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Alabama.

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here; this we have had before.

3. As we find, there has been begun - in part - those suggestions which have been indicated, that WILL bring about the better conditions for this body, if there is the persistent and consistent use of the same.

4. It is indicated by the conditions which arise that there are those disturbances as we have indicated through the gall duct and gall bladder area, as well as the effect that these spasmodic reactions have upon the conditions through the intestinal tract, especially the colon, and the effect that is produced upon the locomotory system.

5. Then, we would continue systematically with those applications that have been suggested; namely: the Castor Oil Packs, - these taken three days in succession for at least an hour each time; followed by the Olive Oil taken internally as indicated.

6. Those injections and the use of the compounds given for the emptying of the gall duct are also helpful. With the combinations, these at times become rather a strenuous activity, and requires that the body rest a great deal during the periods that the Packs are given, of the evenings that these are given.

7. However, if these will be continued, with the leaving off of any sedative as much as possible, they will prove effective.

8. Take plenty of water at all times.

9. We would take the salts on the days when the Castor Oil Packs are NOT taken, - and when taking same (after the injections that have been indicated), lie upon the right side with a pillow under the body at the liver and gall duct area.

10. As the system is cleansed of these poisons, it will be found well to have one or two colonic irrigations, - once or twice each month, - so long as these treatments are being given; that there may be the poisons eliminated that have accumulated in the alimentary canal, through the activity of these properties on the system, without being reabsorbed in the system by remaining in the intestinal or colon area.

11. Hence we would flush the colon with water, using a little saline (salt) and soda solution in same; this would prove most beneficial, taking away those tendencies for so much weakness and dizziness, and purifying the body better.

12. Be mindful as to the diets, - and keep along those lines that have been heretofore indicated for the body.

13. Ready for questions.

14. (Q) Should I continue to take the tonic after meals also? (A) This will be very well, IF there is the closer adherence to these applications, in seeing that the salts AND the Packs do not overlap, but come rather consecutively. Do not leave off the Castor Oil Packs!

15. (Q) Is the treatment of Dr. Buresch, German woman doctor, going to cure me? (A) Not of itself, - else we would not have given these others!

16. (Q) What part of it is the most important? (A) To keep it up sufficient to drain the gall bladder, and the gall duct, and to keep the poisons so drained out of the system.

17. We are through for the present.

Dear Mr. [1196]-

Your wire just received - sorry you are having such a time. Yes usually such symptoms are from Gall-bladder trouble, but the suggestions given if kept consistently for several periods - that is, if you take the oil packs three days in succession then the olive oil - then have good adjustment Osteopathically; rest two days then the packs again and oil

• then the second adjustment - then the 3rd series of the packs - but this time after the 3rd day of packs take Fleets Phosphate of Soda - lie upon right side with pillow under gall duct area while waiting for good big dose of this to act and you will get rid of the soft stones or others - unless too large. But even these should be broken up by the packs and massage.

Give this a full try this time and let me hear.

Dear Mr. [1196]- Your wire of the 19th came to me while was in N.Y. - was just so tied up didn’t have a chance to write. Just got home yesterday and while have loads of mail to answer must write you if can. Know the Oil Pack is slow but am sure it is safe and will, if kept up and the massages given also will keep back the operation - and remove the cause while operation doesn’t remove cause of condition would keep it up - unless there is presence of fever at some time than would be too dangerous to do other than operate. If the pain is severe get you a solution of Acanite [Aconite] and Laudnum [Laudanum] - one part Acanite and two parts Laudnum - paint area with this before applying the pack and will relieve the pain.

Was in N.Y. for three weeks had good meetings and hope did a lot of good. Do hope you are feeling lots better.
