Time of Reading 10:40 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Ohio.

GC: You will have before you [195], of the [182] [195] Mfg. Co., …, Ohio, and his investments and business association, and you will answer the questions respecting same as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body and those conditions as regarding investments and business association. Some of these, we find, we have had here before. We find there are some conditions as respecting both investments and business associations that have given the body-mind of the entity considerable anxiety, and present to the entity many difficult situations. Yet, as we see and find, many of these will adjust themselves in a very satisfactory manner, especially that as respecting the investments in grain. In the reports as are seen in the wheat and corn market, there are flurries caused by reflections of [trends?] in the money and the bond market; yet these will advance - during a portion of the coming week - to that point that will give profit to the body in his investments in oats. The advance should be to at least fifty-two to fifty-six (52 to 56), see? but when the entity has the profit above that as is seen in fifty-two (52), take same, see? Ready for questions.
-
There are many other conditions that bring some anxiety, especially the action of individuals in whom the body has begun to have doubts or lost confidence. Some, as seen, who live in the same city as the entity, and those relations have brought strained and troubled conditions to the entity. These, too, we find, will be clarified through the changing of conditions respecting many of these.
-
(Q) Relative to May Oat investment, would it be better to take loss at present figure, or hold option? (A) Hold option, as is seen, would be better, by the outline of information as given, and if the entity follows those reports as have been and as are being made respecting the grain market in the various markets of the world. For, as we see, the Argentine and South American, and Australian, are now in that position of being harvested. Yet we find the northwest, the Liverpool, the Singapore, and many of the centers are still holding the prices up, making an advance in all grain crops.
-
(Q) Relative to Keapsit Bottle Co., will it be necessary to reorganize, or will Frank C. Terry, the president, be able to raise his ten thousand dollars and take up stock? (A) In regards this, we find there has been much anxiety and trouble and speculation by the entity as respecting these individuals and their actions. As we find, it would be better to use some pressure, diplomatically, in forcing the issue with Frank C. Terry. While it may be necessary to bring pressure to the point of CONTEMPLATING reorganization, we find the abilities of the entity good, and, handled in the proper way and manner, would be an asset. In this way there might be brought about the abilities of the entity, Terry, to raise necessary funds. But we would insist that this be done before the bottle market opens in the next two months - that is, February and March. By the first of March, you see, or first of April, these should be all straightened out and working. See?
While the organization would succeed without the president, or Terry, or the one acting as president, there would be troubles arising from the manner or way in which the control is held of those patents and those conditions respecting the manufacture of this particular bottle. See? Hence the diplomatic way in which this should be handled - that is, the pressure would be in the manner of the honest integrity of the individual, and those promises, and those CONTRACTS that have been made respecting this. Follow this rather closely, for this - as has been given - will bring piles and piles of moneys, see? [See 195-33, Par. 6-A.] Don’t turn this loose, for any consideration!
-
(Q) When will this be brought to a head? (A) When the issue is forced. Should be before the first of March, see?
-
(Q) Is Terry sincere in his relations with others of the Co., relative to raising his share of money? (A) Sincere in his attempted action, yet there is still back of the action that idea (which is not wholly true) of the safe position of the body, or entity, as respecting those relations with others, see? and the actions tend to make the others question the sincerity. And on such lines should the pressure be brought to bear - in a diplomatic way and manner.
-
We are through for the present.
Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 2/12/27 EC wired: SEE INFORMATION IN MAIL BEFORE SELLING OUT OR TAKING ACTION IN OTHER MATTERS.
R2. 2/15/27 Mr. [195] wrote: “Thanks for the rdg. which came yesterday. It predicts better prices this week, and while prices are low on the commodity in question, a good freeze over the country would see a big bulge such that I could get out as advised.
“The real interesting part of the rdg. concerned Terry. The way to handle situation was described very ably. Considering the man himself - Spanish extraction. We have been trying to handle this very diplomatically, but so far have not been able to get any money from him; in fact, we tried to raise some money from him on his furniture but he backed out of the deal. We will have a showdown on this within 3-4 wks. at which time we hope to straighten out matters satisfactory to all concerned. Am in hopes the market will have the bulge this week so that I can get out and go to N.Y.”
R3. 3/1/27 He wrote: “My oats went down without a rise. I guess things change from day to day such that it is impossible to forecast. However, one strange thing happened. One evening a week ago, when I was about to drop off to sleep, I said to myself ‘I’ll dream tonight a dream that will tell me how to proceed with my oats investment.’ My dream was as follows:
“I was on some kind of a car - flat car on rails sliding rapidly down a grade - had not reached bottom grade but was nearly there. After reaching bottom I started up other side - rough places in track - looked as if car would be derailed. It passed safely over rough spots and finally ascended other side of hill where I got out. Some men were there, Mr. Brock (he is man with whom I trade), etc.
“I interpreted this as a rise in market after a selling movement.
“Sure enough next market day grain broke badly - the day following market firmed up and since has had a slight rise. Hope it continues; if so, I have interpreted dream correctly.”
R4. 3/12/27 EC wrote: “Well, we are back in Va. Beach [after Florida trip - see 254-34 report, [996] series, etc.]…
“I wish we could talk over circumstances and conditions surrounding the information given you regarding oats [May Oats]. I don’t understand that at all. I hope the comeback, though, was sufficient to keep you from losing a whole lot. I’m anxious to know how you come out with it…
“Well, we all had a pretty nice time. The weather is wonderful down there! But the sooner Florida learns that’s all they’ve got to offer, around Miami at least - the better off it will be. I have seen a lot of blue folks, and heard a lot of hard times. I didn’t ever hear quite so much of it as I did in Miami, and I don’t wonder that - when the people who are down there for the winter begin to go north - the banks begin to break, as they did the other day in Palm Beach and West Palm Beach. I’m afraid there’s going to be another one in Miami, as well as Daytona, and possibly one in Tampa… [Next paragraph used in 996-11 Reports.]
“I noticed one thing, as I drove into various little towns around Miami. At every filling station we passed, there were quite a number of [182] [195] Mfg. Co.’s oil cups. A different situation here in Va. - you usually see one to two of the cups and the rest of them are bottles but everything in Fla. uses your cups exclusively. I’m sure this is not news to you, but just rather that I noticed it.
“You know, it’s about that dream more that I’d like to talk to you. [900] has been of the opinion for a long time that such information as you received in the dream is the only character that may be really RELIED upon for conditions on the market, and the interpretation of those dreams is what he has applied in the development, or the understanding, of the work or phenomena [the readings], and it is such dreams
- and the interpretation thereof - that he has used and does use in his business.”
R5. 3/14/27 Mr. [195] wrote from N.Y.:
“Business is running along smoothly here and the business forecasters predict a good year in the marts of trade. I hope so.”
R6. 3/21/27 He wrote: “My oats came up a little, then got a sinking spell. Am in hopes they recover sufficiently for me to get out.”
R7. 4/2/27 He wrote: “Regarding oats investment, so far it is rather costly - am out $7500. Am in hopes of a rise during April; if not, will get out and take the loss, but it will put a crimp in my finances for a time to do so… We are busy down at Cincinnati in the bottle plant and have had a talk with the president about his putting some money into the concern. He will have to do so or we will make some other apportionment of the stock. I think in the end that company will work out as given in the rdg. In any event we anticipate a profitable concern but it may take considerable time to put it over.”
R8. 4/30/27 He wrote: “Had a great big loss on the oats deal - lost all my cash on hand besides what I could borrow, and will be a little hard up for a while. Also have had some other business worries which have kept me unsettled in my mind, with the consequence that I have not felt in the mood of working on the article [See 195-41], but now that my losses are taken I can get back on the job and will attempt a new article real soon.”
R9. 5/2/27 EC wrote: “I’m sorry indeed to know that oats proved so disastrous to you. I’m in hopes you will have better luck next time. I don’t understand the information that is gotten [in the rdgs.] in regard to such things.”
R10. 5/25/27 He wrote: “It is a strange thing about grain. I carried it for 4-5 months at a big loss and as soon as I got out it took a rise and now starts to soar in earnest.”
Background
Background
B1. 1/17/27 He obtained business investment rdg. 195-39.
B2. 2/9/27 He wrote to EC in Miami, Fla.: “I hope you are all settled and enjoying your visit down south. Of course with the expense of the undertaking, the people who brought you there will want a good part of your time [See 254-34 advising the trip], but should you have time off it would be greatly appreciated if you could make a rdg. on the May Oats investment. It seems as if they worked just the opposite as given and cost me $4,000.00 cash to date. Hate to lose the coin and hope you get a chance to see what you can discover.
“Another thing, I would like to ask at the same time is concerning the Bottle Co. [See 195-33, Par. 6-A advising him to go into this venture.] Terry, the man in with us was to put up $10,000, and never has come across. He doesn’t seem to be able to get the money and won’t borrow it on his furniture as we suggested. Would like to ask a question or two concerning him.”
