Protestant) This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 25th day of January, 1940, in accordance with request made by the self - Miss [1968], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 3:45 to 4:10 P. M. Eastern Standard Time.

1. GC: You will have before you the life existence in the earth plane of [1968], born November 22, 1910, in Pine Bluff, Ark., and the earthly existence of this entity as Asmen-n, in Atlantis during the period of the first destructive forces. You will give a biographical life of the entity in that day and plane of earthly existence, from entrance - and how - into the earth’s plane, and the entity’s departure; giving the development or retarding points in such an existence. You will answer the questions, then, as I ask them, concerning her present associations and the influences from that sojourn.

2. EC: Yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as, or called, [1968] and the early experience in the Atlantean sojourn as Asmen-n.

3. In giving the interpretations of the records as to the influences which exerted an activity in the entity, and in giving those characteristics or manifested personalities in the present, it is well that something of the experiences or life through such sojourns be put into words, - as to give a concept of the earthly experience during such sojourns.

4. For, the activities in the physical plane would be hard to interpret in the terms of the experiences of an entity sojourning under the present environs. But, glimpse these - if it is practical in thy own experience:

We find that in those periods there was not a laboring for the sustenance of life (as in the present), but rather individuals who were children of the Law of One - and some who were the children of Belial (in the early experience) - were served by automatons, or THINGS, that were retained by individuals or groups to do the labors of a household, or to cultivate the fields or the like, or to perform the activities of artisans or the like. And these were those activities through which much of the disturbing forces grew to be factors to be reckoned with, between the children of the Law of One and the sons of Belial. For, these were the representation of what in the present experiences would be termed good and evil, or a spiritual thought and purpose and a material thought or desire or purpose.

6. Hence, the entity entered the experience as of the children of the Law of One, or of the one purpose.

7. The days upon the earth then were counted in the tens, the fifties and the hundreds, besides the days or weeks or years in the present. Or, the LIFE existence of the entity, as compared to the present, would be years instead of weeks; or, in that experience, to live five to six to seven hundred years was no more than to live to the age of fifty, sixty or seventy years in the present.

8. Hence, to be understood, these must be considered or conceived in the mental experience of the entity in the present:

9. There we find that the entity, as has been indicated, was PHYSICALLY in love with one of the children of the sons of Belial. Hence there were disturbing factors, by the desire and the attempt to influence the entity to refrain from associations with the children of Belial.

10. For - as would be compared with the present - the association would be as of a young girl or person with those who were given to debauchery, or to the satisfying alone of the appetites of every nature, or the material experiences as might be indicated in the present.

11. These brought the disturbing forces throughout the experience; yet there were the eventual associations - or conjugations - with the son of Belial. Thus there was the taking on of the physical desires, the physical reactions which were at variance to the teachings and the innate expressions of those who had been the companions and associates of the entity.

12. Hence there were turmoils throughout that experience, yet the entity in the whole sense never lost sight of, or the sense of, the activities as NEED to be for the KEEPING of the body and mind and purposes in a correct, or direct, association or activity.

13. Thus we find in the present, with the associations which have come about with an individual who represented that sojourn, or that one with whom the entity was associated in that experience, there have come disappointments, and the not being satisfied innately or manifestedly in self as to the perfect association, or as to there ever being a perfect cooperative influence.

14. Yet, as we find, and as has been indicated, IF there is the DETERMINING upon the part of each that they may in the present experience meet themselves, there may be the dedicating of their minds, their bodies, their purposes to meet and to fulfil within the present experience those things which would make for more harmony and more general peace of mind than can be done apart. Yet, if this is only the decision of the one, - better that it NOT be undertaken.

15. Ready for questions.

16. (Q) Please give such information regarding my Atlantean experience, and especially of my association with [R…] which may be used now as a helpful influence in my life as well as his. (A) This has just been indicated.

17. (Q) Was he the son of Belial mentioned in my Life Reading, that I am to marry in the present? (A) As just indicated.

18. (Q) What should be my attitude when in his presence? Should I let him know that I love him? (A) As has been indicated. If this is a cooperative association, or if there is an agreement on the part of both that there are the needs for the working it out, it is well. If this agreement is only upon the part of the one, NOT well.

Then, as to the activity when in the company or in associations with him, - let this as a purpose be understood. Not that the entity is to throw herself AT the other entity, or [R…] - but let it be understood as to the purpose for such associations. And do not let, or allow, disappointments to persuade or misdirect the intent and purpose as it is innately manifested in thy experience.

Though the home, the home building, is the greatest adventure, the greatest purpose, the greatest desire upon the part of the entity, - if there is NOT the congeniality, do not attempt it. Not that there should be the desire to “get even,” but don’t ATTEMPT it unless it can be a COOPERATIVE undertaking!

19. (Q) Since it is my desire to fulfil my destiny while in this experience, please suggest what I should do next. (A) As just indicated, let it be understood as to the self’s purpose! This desire, this purpose, that it may be fulfilled in this association or companionship! But unless it is a cooperative undertaking, forget it - and find others!

20. (Q) What prevented our marriage in October, in order that I might not let this happen again? (A) The lack of assurance as to the oneness of purpose on the part of each.

21. (Q) How can I prepare myself to be a good mother? (A) Act in those ways and manners - in body, in mind, in purpose - to fulfil that within self that would be the IDEAL activity and relationships of a mother.

22. (Q) Will my sons be influential in religious or political affairs, or both? (A) As has been indicated, we will find that the inclination will be to both fields; one possibly in one, one in the other. [GD’s note: For confirmation of this prophecy see subsequent readings and correspondence.]

23. (Q) What interest could I develop now that would be helpful in my service to others? (A) Just following those outlines as we have indicated that have been the intents and the purposes of the entity throughout its experience and desire in this whole sojourn. Those things pertaining to activity for the greater service to others in all walks of life, these - with training, with activity, with development - offer the channels or outlets for the better development of the entity’s abilities, and towards the fulfilling of the purposes and desires for which the entity sought experience in this existence.

24. (Q) Have I had an experience in any other appearance with [264] and how may it be helpful to us in the present? (A) The sojourn as we have indicated in the Palestine land brought about a closer association. The use or application of the tenets which were the thought and purpose of each throughout former sojourns, applied in the present day activities and associations, will bring the better relationships to each, - and fitting each for the better associations and activities with others.

25. (Q) Please give any other advice that would be helpful to me at this time. (A) As has been indicated for the entity, - the high mental, moral, religious and duty purposes are as the stars in the crown of development.

Then, do not allow a disappointment in a personality to hinder these from finding their greater fruition in this experience or sojourn.

As has been indicated, as before, - know thy own ideal, and in sincerity live up to same; not commanding or demanding. For, know, each soul must answer for its own self. But let THY light so shine, thy purpose so shine, that others may take hope and be constrained to glorify God also.

Dear Mr. Cayce:

Thank you for sending my reading so promptly and I certainly did appreciate your writing to me too. It must make you feel awfully good to know that you can help people get their lives straight and I am certainly going to try to do my part to fulfill my destiny and do the things that I should do. I will let you hear from me later when I have something to report. In the meantime I am writing to Mrs. [264] today, as she has promised to help me too.

I hope some day to be able to tell you that my plans have worked out as you told me they would and that I can thank you in person for all you have done for me.

Dear Miss [1968]

Thank you for yours of the 2nd - yes, brings a great deal of pleasure to know there are so many that rely on the suggestions of the information for help - felt very much impressed at a word received recently from what we usually consider very different sources, yet each of these leaders or teachers said the exact same words - each had had a reading - each had evidently gotten real help - one a Catholic Priest - [2019] - the other the Rabbi [1839] of one of the largest Temples in N.Y. but they wrote among other things - “One realizes from your readings - God again speaks to man, through a man”. Quite a responsibility, but trust to keep humble, and ever a channel of help to many.

Know will be glad to hear from you at all times - hope you have nice letter from Mrs. [264] - am sure you will.

R3. 2/9/40 Mrs. [264]‘s ltr. to EC: ”…I received the enclosed letter from [1968] several days ago, and I need your advice. I really believe a health reading will be helpful to [1968]. She talked to me about it while at the Beach. She was annoyed by those bumps on her face then, saying she would like to have a health reading, so it would give the cause of them, or outline a diet, or give help where it was needed.

“[1968] is so thoroughly conscious of her duty on this earth plane, and since she wants to do it right, I am so happy to help her all I can.

“I wrote her to tell [R…] about having heard of you at Virginia Beach, and of being so much interested that she got a Life Reading. Then I told her to show him the reading, asking him what he thought of it.

“He has talked with various kinds of mystics in India, and has told [1968] about them, so he should understand something about the reading. I do hope he will be interested.

“However, after reading [1968]‘s letter, I believe you will understand better how things are between them. You could write to her or to me. Just do what you think best. She wants to know the price of the reading too…

“P.S. …[1968] called me over the telephone tonight and said [R…] is going to marry the other girl. Said the other girl is telling it.

“However, since [R…] does not like those bumps on [1968]‘s face, she wants to know if I think she should go on and get a physical reading and get rid of the bumps, or get a Palestine reading, and ask if and how she should attempt to see [R…] before the time for him to marry the girl.

“Since it is her destiny to marry him, she wants to do her duty and then she says she will not worry if he marries the other girl.

“Somehow, I don’t believe he is going to marry that other girl. Let me know what you think best for [1968].”

R4. 2/16/40 EC’s ltr. to Mrs. [264]: ”…Am just in receipt of yours enclosing the letters from Miss [1968], and will try and answer at once as I think it much better that you write her than my trying to butt in - tho’ know I am glad to try and help any way that I can. Will be glad to make the appointment for the Physical reading any time she would like, and sincerely hope I can be of help. Believe the close association or that to be worked out now with [R…] is from the Atlantean - tho’ maybe I’m wrong, to be sure. From her letter it seems she has the situation in hand - that is, she is prone to do the right thing; but she can, throughout the suggestions that have been made by [R…] and his friend - as well as her sister - make it appear casual that she meet him again. Think she should suggest to him that she heard of the work here. Tell him of what you, as well as others, said about it. Ask him what he thinks of such information and the like. Then she can judge from his reaction whether to show him the information or not. Don’t you think that the best way? Would seem so to me. Am like you, don’t think he will marry the other girl; however, he may do so, but she should get in a chance to talk with him again first, at least.

“Do hope [1968] will get straightened out, to her entire satisfaction, and if he does marry the other girl I hope she doesn’t let it spoil her life. But as the question she asked you - their friendship, a cooperative, helpful thing with one idea in view, to manifest Good in every way and everything.

“Let me hear if you hear from her again…”

R5. 3/5/40 [1968]‘s ltr. to EC:

Mr. Edgar Cayce Arctic Crescent Virginia Beach, Va.

Dear Mr. Cayce:

Thank you for your letter and for giving me that last check reading so promptly. I don’t have anything further to report to you, and have decided to get a Physical Reading. Please send a copy to Mrs. [264] and answer the following questions if you find them to be in order:-

1. What is my present physical condition, and what should be done to correct same?
2. What causes bumps or pimples on my face, and what would cure them? [Dermatitis - see 1968-3.]
3. Please outline a diet for me.
4. Do I have pyelitis and should anything be done about it?
5. What should be done for my eyes?
6. Did [R…] stop coming to see me on account of the bumps on my face?
7. Since I want my physical condition perfect that I may better serve my fellow man by working out of my past experience with [R…] should I attempt to see him again and how?
8. Please give any other advice that may be helpful.

I would appreciate your keeping all of my readings confidential as I have never discussed them with anyone but Mrs. [264]. Please send it to me in a plain envelope to my office at …, Ark.

In case you want to know where I will be, I will be at the office any morning or afternoon except Saturday afternoon or Sunday. Hope you can give me this reading soon.
