This psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 23rd day of June, 1941, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [2072], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 3:40 to 4:45 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Va.

1. GC: You will have before you the entity [2072], present in this room, who seeks clarification of and expansion upon her Life Reading, given January 3, 1940. [2072-1] You will please give the entity that information, guidance and direction which would help her most in her spiritual and mental creative efforts, and in meeting and talking with and giving to others. You will answer the questions she submits, as I ask them.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind of the entity, [2072].

3. In giving advice or counsel regarding mental and spiritual attributes of the body, much as to the premise from which such thoughts and experiences would be gathered it might be well to indicate to the body; that the suggestions given may be made more practical in the everyday life of the entity.

4. Then, when considering such a premise, there must also be considered that which has been the ideal of the entity.

5. Such information would not be given in the way of finding fault, but to point out the comparisons that may be drawn by the body-consciousness itself from day to day.

6. As we have indicated, the entity is supersensitive in this particular or individual experience above that ordinarily indicated in many individuals. As to why this would be stated may be well to indicate to the entity, as well as some warnings and some counsel to be considered; because such conditions are apparent and active in the consciousness of the present entity.

7. Then, owing to the quickness of return in this present sojourn, there has been formed that concept of materialization of thought of mind, into those influences that may be manifested in all forms.

8. Hence, as has been indicated, beauty and symmetrical activity; formations of tone, color, words, character into visualized experiences are a part of the entity’s consciousness in the present.

9. Thus the entity may be among quite a throng and be quite lonely. It may be among much that is beautiful and at times only see that which indicates crushing defeat, or all forms of pessimistic vision. Again there may be quite the opposite, when everything in expression takes a form that is beautiful and finds expression in words, in deeds and in activities, in such a way that at times may even be questioned by others; while to the entity may be the essence of consistency, of life, of love, of the power and influence for good. These cause some anxiety, especially in relationships with others.

10. Then the activities of the entity in other expressions of consciousness, in and out of the body, also have their influence upon this awareness, this consciousness which - as we have indicated - exists with the entity in the present experience.

11. It is asked, then, - what should be the ideal? What are the principles to be applied, mentally; the sources spiritually, and the physical expressions of same in relationships to others?

12. As we have so oft indicated through these sources, - these lie in that realm of awareness in which the ideal is based or founded.

13. It may be well to consider the many forms, manners as well as mannerisms of approach to any desired point or purpose in the spiritual and mental evolution and activity of the entity. Also it is well to keep in mind the fact that such do exist.

14. From THESE sources, or this channel, there would be given that consciousness as manifested in that power given unto man as the ideal, - that should and would be considered the premise from which parallels might be drawn, lessons gained and instruction given. As:

15. In Adam that expression was given by the Father in its individual activity, as well as in its relationships to the conditions about the entity.

16. Know, then, it was not only a part of the awareness of this entity, but also that as should be the premise or basis for consideration whenever there is that desire of expression towards growth into grace, into love, into activity as in relationships to those about the entity.

17. Anywhere and everywhere those activities may be found, those lessons and experiences gained that determine what was given in the beginning. Of everything about thee ye may learn a lesson! SUBDUE this, - make it that which will serve thee in thy dealings with the problems of relationships, as well as in dealing with the problems which have to do with conditions or circumstances about the entity, ever.

18. Again it was manifested in Enoch, who oft sought to walk and talk with that divine influence; with the abilities latent and manifested in self to find self in the varied realms of awareness, yet using the office of relationships as a channel through which blessings might come, as well as recommendations and warnings might be indicated to others.

19. Such then is an ideal to which the entity may concur, with that indicated as to the service and activity of that entity in and through the earth.

20. Again there may be drawn to self a parallel from the realm of spiritual enlightenment of that entity known as Melchizedek, a prince of peace, one seeking ever to be able to bless those in their judgments who have sought to become channels for a helpful influence without any seeking for material gain, or mental or material glory; but magnifying the virtues, minimizing the faults in the experiences of all with whom the entity comes in contact day by day.

21. While it is well to delve oft into that realm not made with hands, the mental forces ever should seek (as are the experiences of those, and of this entity individually, who are seeking - seeking) to become more and more - as did the expressions of that entity - aware of the relationships to conditions and to others, from the relationships to that which is of the divine source or nature.

22. We would turn again to that realm of awareness in material experiences from which the entity may gather those lessons, those instructions which arose from the activity of the entity called Joshua; that though in the earth’s place or period of advancement, there may be the collective activity of that as would do good even unto those who persecute thee.

23. Not that those realms of activity bring the entity into those experiences where, as may be proverbially given, there is the scratching one’s back because others seek to have their vanity, their backs scratched; but rather the activity in such realms enables the entity to make that declaration as made by Joshua, which has become a part of the awareness of each and every entity at times during the sojourns in the earth; partaking of the earth, yet becoming less and less earthly-minded.

24. Then again the expression was in that entity as he entered through those channels indicated as necessary for the functioning of the material, mental and spiritual mind, for the advent of that influence manifested in what ye call the Christ-Consciousness, the Christ awareness (Jeshua).

25. For, THIS - the Christ-Consciousness - is the basis.

26. Thus, how may one combine all as may be there gathered, into the realm of activity in which the everyday individual is met? How may the entity apply self that there may be the broadening, the greater awareness of its purposes, its desires, its hopes?

27. The entity is ever surrounded with the guardian influences of that which has been created in self through the application of those laws for that manifestation being sought.

28. Then, - what must be the attitude, what must be the activity?

29. Know that the entity has reached that period in its awareness when all must be in accord, coordinant with all forms of contact - in word, in speech, in daily application - that express those forces which are today a part of that group to which the entity may attain, - through the activities in that realm, that state of consciousness, that state of awareness in this present experience.

30. Then, in summing up these:

31. The knowledge that there may be the greater expansion, the greater experience of enjoying here and now the satisfaction of knowing that the days are spent in the glorifying of the spirit of truth, makes and brings the awarenesses of every nature into the realm of the entity’s consciousness.

32. For, He IS thy guardian here and now. Put thy whole trust in those things indicated by Him, that ye have studied in this present experience: “As ye would that others should do to you, do ye even so to them.”

33. Is this become trite? Too oft such is the reaction.

34. There may be the glimpses here and there, not only of the beauties but of the hardships, not only of the joys but of the besetting influences that make one afraid. In Him there was no fear. Of Himself little might have been accomplished in the earth, but being willing to be used He became the perfect channel. Be thou willing to be used in every form, as may be expressed in the very contrite manner, to love the Lord with all thy might, to encourage those who are weak, to assist those who seek to admonish and warn those who are of themselves self-sufficient in this material relationship.

35. These, then, are those forces, those characteristics and natures, those purposes made manifest that caused the kingdoms of the mental and spiritual realm - even of the earth - to be controlled by that influence which constantly lives those injunctions, “Be my people and I will be thy God.”

36. Yes, there are the many approaches. There are the many awarenesses. Yet all that are of extremes, all that are of the contradictory notion to those that become the physical-minded, are manifested in Him.

37. “Be ye unafraid, for it is I.”

38. That attitude, that purpose, that harmony should be and is the channel, the way that leads to the abilities for each soul to manifest the greater opportunity in the material experiences.

39. To love the Lord, then; to eschew evil, to keep from condemnation and to give blessings to all, - that is the way, the truth in which the entity may make self fully aware of His walk with thee. Let not thy heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid; ye believe in God, believe also in Him - who went about doing good; knowing Himself, even as ye, to be a part of all that has been made manifest in the daily life.

40. These awarenesses bring greater abilities, greater harmonies into the experience. Hence they are the beauties, - yea, the expressions of that rule and force and manner which should conduct the dealings of one entity with another, in those journeys along that way leading home!

41. Let that light, that harmony, that peace, take its time with thee. This brings the entity again to that second premise, - as it, too, is a part of those awarenesses about the entity, of that love which makes itself manifest. For, if ye would have friends, ye must indeed show thyself friendly. If ye would know God and those relationships to Him, then, ye must seek after Him. For it is the answering of that spirit within thee to that spirit from which it comes.

42. Thus love thy neighbor as thyself. SEEK to be that channel that causes those ye meet day by day to be better in every way because of coming in contact with thee; thinking better and better of themselves, by thy being less and less condemning of that about thee, or in thy relationships to things or peoples.

43. This too, then, becomes thy answer. Ye would love even as He hath loved thee. For it may become a living experience in thy own activity, in such measures as to bring not gratification of earthly things but attuning to that realm of the higher self which answers - “Thy spirit beareth witness with my spirit as to whether ye be the child of God or not.”

44. These are the premises from which ye would judge or measure thyself. These are the rules, the regulations to be followed in humbleness of spirit, yet declaring day by day the mighty works of the living God as made manifest in the lives of those ye meet day by day in every way.

45. Let this prayer ever be that upon thy heart and mind, guiding thy purposes, thy hope offering: that ye may hold to that which is good, making same manifest by thought, by act, by purposes as to be one with Him.

46. Then, let that light shine in the darkness of those that fear or doubt.

47. Let thy heart keep the faith as thou seest and knowest. Thus the answer comes, as to those influences that direct thy daily life.

48. Ready for questions.

49. (Q) Explain my spiritual development in my Atlantean incarnation. What would open me most to the ability to become again a channel for this expression? (A) Let’s do the first things first. Know that it has been and ever is as in His experience. In birth there was the answering of custom, of duty, of obligation, by being taken up to the temple for the blessing. In the latter portion of His experience He was taken up to the temple for condemnation to pay full price that taketh away every blot.

Hence open thy heart and mind. Prepare thy body-forces, that “Thy way, O Lord, may be done through me day by day,” and even greater things than these may be thy experience in the earth.

50. (Q) Explain cause and significance of those experiences had in the early mornings of 1934, ‘35, etc., in which voices were heard, pictures seen much as a motion picture, and electrical phenomena experienced within the body and head. (A) These were from that called emotional involvement, which - as we have indicated - is present within the inner consciousness; finding manifestation through the abilities of the mind and soul of the entity. And these should be kept as assurances, not as phenomena to be sought - other than as He found when the cry came, “My God! My God! Why hast Thou forsaken me?” This came, as He promised, that that anguish, that despair may not be in thy experience. It was a fulfilling; that the trials, the temptations might be shortened in the days of expression, that the very elect might not be disturbed in their search for Him.

These are the high points in assurance. Be patient and see, as ye have seen, the glory of the Lord.

51. (Q) Would it be advisable for me to develop this power further for the study and illustration of the inner construction of the atom, matter and forces? (A) Apply their influence, as indicated, and let the phenomena remain as that assurance.

As He gave, these come for that assurance; so that ye become less faint, so that ye become more sure; yet not allowing the phenomena to take the place of just loving, just knowing.

52. (Q) In what direction should I use my creative mental and spiritual abilities? Please give method of procedure? (A) Day by day in every way give voice to, and also practical application of, the love ye have experienced and do experience in those periods upon the mount and in the temple.

53. (Q) What is my soul number? Explain the significance of it? (A) Seven is the soul number. The significance is the blessedness of the unity in activity.

54. (Q) What is my seal, and its interpretation? (A) This would come more from the life experiences in the earth. That as would be indicated from the experience of the entity it has visioned, - the sunrise upon the lake, in which there is seen in the distance a ship - lighted by the fire of opportunity from the rising sun; the quietness of the birth of light upon water - as the mother of materialization in the earth; yet with the messenger of the white bird that is seen approaching closely the front, bearing love, security, ability to give to others. The opalescent light is reflected in the water of that being experienced in the sky, reflecting in thy life that ye see in the God ye worship.

55. (Q) Please give that information concerning immaculate conception that can be given for me. (A) As the spirit was made manifest in the body purified by consecration of purpose in the lives manifested in the earth, so might the spirit - with the brooding of the body itself - bring to the organs of flesh a body through which the spirit may itself manifest in the earth.

Remember those forms which have been given. First, He was created - brought into being from all that there was in the earth, as an encasement for the soul of an entity, a part of the Creator; knowing separation in death. Then He was made manifest in birth through the union of channels growing out of that thought of the Creator made manifest, but so expressed, so manifested as Enoch as to merit the escaping of death - which had been the result as the law of disobedience. He was made manifest in Melchizedek by desire alone, not knowing body, not knowing mind, - save its own; brought into being in materialization as of itself; passing from materialization in the same manner. Then there was perfected that period again in BODY when the other soul or portion of self was made manifest by the consecration of the mother; meeting then self by that same quickening power as had been made manifest in the beginning - or at first.

Hence the cycle. Hence the circle. Hence the emblem of same becomes as the channel through which such takes its form, its expression, its symbol.

56. (Q) Where (countries or planes) other than in the present incarnation, have I known, and what was the nature of the development from knowing, the following: My mother-in-law, […]? (A) These associations can best be drawn by paralleling of the experiences of each, in their journey through materiality.

57. (Q) Did I live on earth at the time of Christ? Who, where and what was the development at that time? (A) This is to be given when ye have attained to that full awareness.

58. (Q) Did I live in Egypt at the time of Ra-Ta? Who, where and what was the development at that time? (A) Parallel the experiences of each, as given.

Dearest Eddie,

Thank you for your letter of the 28th and thanks to both you and Gladys for the reading. It was a beautiful reading and will be most valuable to me. Yes, many times I have felt “lost” and have wondered what to say and do - wondered if I was right or wrong, and again the vibrations within have been so high I have wished these might be everlasting.

I shall never forget the gentleness, kindness and beautiful sacredness of your voice as you gave that reading. How glad I am I was able to be present for it and for the one which you gave on Sunday on the birth of Christ [5749-15]. I doubt if I can ever express to anyone what those two readings have meant to me. Thank you more than ever I can say, Eddie.

Thank you also for [1861]‘s reading. It has come also.

It is beautiful and right that you allow God’s will to be thy will. Know that I understand; and whenever you may be allowed a few days know that you shall be most welcome if you will come. I hope you may, but we shall leave the way and time to God.

Will you be having a Glad Helper’s meeting the 23rd by any chance, or 30th? [1861] and I may come down for a treatment about then. Would we be able to get physical re-check readings also about the 22nd, 23rd or 24th? You spoke of having appointments to the 24th. What could you suggest?

I can well understand how tired Mrs. Cayce must have been. She is a remarkable and dear person and she is so small the housework and company is quite a strain on her vitality. Be good to her and give her much love, Eddie.

Would you please give me Nancy Lansdale’s address? Must one be with her personally for a drawing of the nature as those she did for you and H. L.?

Dear [2072]:

So you took time to write on the 4th - thank you more than can say some way do not remember our spending a 4th of July together, we must have but suppose there was not as much stress put on the day those days as there is now a very quiet day here, rested for one day and had to work all day yesterday to make up for it two people from out of town, one drove down from Youngstown Ohio, the other from Suffolk - they seemed pleased just hope with HIS help we may have been of a service.

Glad you liked your reading - hope it will prove of real help each day most people seem to get most by reading over again every now and then. Can it but bring back much am sure we had planned so long ago, will be beautiful and lovely.

Think it is always better for a person to be present, there is usually am told a something in the manner it is given that carries something helpful with it. Every one has spoken so nicely of the Sunday reading - hope when you read it that all comes back to you, just as you must have felt when you heard it.

Glad [1861] liked his reading - do hope will have the chance to be with you in the not too distant future. How would next week end do - do not know as yet but think Miss Gladys will have her tonsils out this week and that will mean several days no readings - may have chance to get away - if convenient for you all. Yes - there will be a glad helpers meeting at 2.30 the afternoon of the 23rd be nice could have you and [1861] with us at that time if you come down we usually have a meeting of the Glad Helpers each Wed. afternoon - unless an emergency breaks in to same and have to give a reading - some times we have readings at these meetings but am sure you would find them interesting - and will be very happy to have you both here for any of them.

Could give you the morning of the 23rd for the Check-ups if you like the 24th is taken. Gertrude worries so about the boy at camp - most makes her self sick over that. Can’t help conditions - and why worry when you can PRAY. She is a most remarkable person to have ever put up with me - but is really very marvelous that she works with me, at something she was so averse to some years ago.

Mrs. Nancy Lansdale - 235 East 49th St New York City, she would have to see you or your photograph to be able to draw the Archetype as I understand it - would certainly like to see yours, am sure would be lovely - and [1861]‘s - think she would have to be around him a few times to get his.

Yes - always keep that idea [2072] for He having promised each of us and is able to keep that promise - “Be not afraid it is I” for he keeps His promises - and comes in when ever invited.

Yes, Eddie, I’ve found that very fact about re-reading the spiritual & mental reading to be true, for I have re-read it daily since it came to find something, and often MANY things, new and beautiful and to give a deeper understanding every time I have read it. The reading itself seems to become a channel whereby I know more nearly that which God would have me do. There was not a parallel given in yours and my lives, however, nor any of those I ask for. The reading said these would have to be paralleled from life readings. And how beautifully and sacredly you replied to me question “Did I live on earth at the time of Christ? Who, where and what was the development at that time?” With these words “This is to be given when ye have attained that full awareness.” “That full awareness” - like it was something beautiful, deep and good - something that in the seeking and consecrating myself to AGAIN will be beautiful, - for it must have been beautiful if I must ATTAIN to it.

The curtain is so drawn upon each of our lives as to leave the will of the individual to grow of its own will for GOOD or for evil, isn’t it? How truly free God has left our Will and our Choice!

Thank you - we’d like the morning of the 23rd for physical readings, then, unless Gladys has her tonsils out around that time and you can come visit us instead.

I love my seal, Eddie; read it, won’t you? There was so much in that reading to give me courage & assurance. I’ve wondered so often about myself - why I AM in certain ways. Wondered sometimes if my seeming so different (to myself) from other girls if I couldn’t just go out of this material world and leave it to them and the things they apparently enjoy so much but God would rather have us serve him here, I guess, wouldn’t he?

Dear little Anna;-

Thank you for yours of the 13th - yes one time wish could sit and talk with you, know am not able to put into words on paper that as would like to say at this time, have just read over your last reading, much there would like to have seen expanded upon, wonder if it would not had not other questions been asked too soon, it is a wonderful piece of work, and can understand from my point of view how you will and may gather more and more from reading it over and over every now and then - a wonderful amount of information is given, yet - there is more implied than told. But some day hope to sit with you and ponder over it all very thoroughly, and may that day be very soon I hope.

Would like to have made the week end there - circumstances seem to have forbid possibly I made a bad choice, yes Miss Gladys had her tonsils out on Friday and has gotten on nicely, guess will be able to go back to work this morning - slowly at least so many seem so anxious for information, looked as if couldn’t make it and am expecting some of the folks - two sisters and niece from Nashville, next Sunday and things had to be shaped up, so didn’t get away.

Will be most happy to talk with Mother […] and [1861]‘s brother - and most of all the Minister, just hope may measure up to all the nice things am sure you and [1861] have said about me. Is very fine that you have found a congenial spirit in the minister there - especially at this time - if I understand your reading properly. Trust when am able to come over may be the means of being of help in many ways, and if should be permitted to try and help Mrs. […] - may HIS love and Spirit guide all the way.

Am sure will enjoy being with you and [1861] - just hope my personal feeling for you two will not hinder my being of help to others - for it is a great temptation to just keep you two selfishly. For the assurance you give me.

Hadn’t read the reading before - not because of lack of interest - wrather that did not wish to have any preconceived ideas, until you asked me about some point in same, but it is a very lovely reading - very unusual as every Mental and Spiritual reading is, as different as the character of individuals themselves.

The parallels - is for you to draw by reading your Life reading and mine - as I understand it - the associations in each personal appearance - and how we must have been associated at that time - you have a copy of mine haven’t you

• if not will try and see that you have one if you would like.

The same is to be done with each of the others - or that is the way I understand it. Had the same said to me in one of the check life - and eventually it came in a very unusual way

• in a reading for some one else. Experience at the time of the Master. Yes - only as we meditate upon the wonderful richness of God’s love do we realize the mercies of His love and the wonderful things He has prepared for those who love him.

Have reserved the morning of the 23rd - one month from the last reading has a meaning all its own am sure - do not know it as yet - guess we will when it comes or will grow to the realization, at least.

The Seal - my what loveliness it presents - would like to see an artist bring that into realization, wouldn’t you.

You have much to give here and now - to the Glory of God’s love - among those about you now - and those who will know HIM from your words and acts - of that am sure and am sure it will grow on you that that is true.

Haven’t felt good for last day or so - hope will be better now - and able to help - have lot of requests on hand - they all mean so much to the seeker - and hope may measure up - to His way of life.
