This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 4th day of November, 1940, in accordance with request made by the mother - [295].

Born October 27, 1940, Sunday, 7 o’clock P. M., at St. Anthony’s Hospital, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. c/o Mrs. […], Time of Reading … St., 10:50 to 11:10 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Okla.

1. GC: You will give the relation of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity and that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes - [2391], Elizabeth Carol […] [E.C. named baby].

3. In giving the interpretations of the records as we find them here, this is given with the desire and purpose that this be a helpful influence for those upon whom rests the developing of the abilities, the virtues, the faults; that the entity may fulfil that purpose for which it sought entrance in this present experience.

4. But there will of necessity need to be special precautions for THIS entity through the first eighteen months of experience in this plane; else there may be the separation again soon. This is especially seen because of weaknesses that are a portion of the respiratory system. Thus it is necessary for the vital forces to be added to make special resistances in this direction, lest colds cause this disturbance - as well as the respiratory system’s relationships to the digestive forces.

5. In giving the appearances, and their influence upon the entity in the present sojourn, - these change in their influence, to be sure, dependent upon the application made through the administration of counsel, aid and help through the first seven years, and then the next five years of its development in this experience.

6. Thus those warnings, those precautions as indicated.

7. Before this the entity was in the name Elizabeth Major,* as known. From that sojourn we find those activities and developments regarding eccentricities in its likes and dislikes, its fears and doubts.

8. And these as we find will necessitate those activities that will relieve these in the mental and the spiritual development of the entity through its early years of expression.

9. There will be the inclination towards musical talents, musical abilities; with not a bad voice. These will be the tendencies, and should be those influences about the entity for its better development.

10. In the early portion of its experience, then, the entity will need those directing forces that will alleviate those tendencies for the fears and doubts; as well as those things pertaining to the physical developments of the body itself.

11. Before that the entity was active in that period known as the period of early settlement, early development of the land of the present nativity; in that period when there was the Gold Rush, as called, in ‘49.

12. The entity was among those peoples known as Barnwell, - born during the experience of the travel from what is now Missouri TOWARD the West.

13. While the entity suffered through the material or physical experience, it gained in its mental and spiritual aspects. Under the hardships, though, there were those experiences brought about that made for the entertainment as well as activity towards those things that would be questioned in the mind of the experience of some judging same today; yet the entity developed.

14. But these tendencies and inclinations towards QUESTIONABLE things will need the proper direction as related to the relationships with individuals and groups, and those activities respecting same, - should there be the development to the fifth and the seventh year especially.

15. Then, when there have been those developments to the seventh to the tenth year, further instructions and directions and directions may be given as to the developing of the body, the mind, and the spiritual aspects of those relationships of the entity to the cosmic as well as the material and universal consciousness.

16. As to those directions given for the next eighteen months, - be most mindful respecting the PHYSICAL developments; colds, congestions, throat, and especially fevers as tempered with same. Beware of these.

17. We are through for the present.

R5. 12/12/75 Mother [295] wrote: “[2391] was disappointed that the reading did not reveal her as some important person, but she appreciated your promptness in sending it. She and her family are skiing in Colorado, and want me to come out to … for their Christmas tree.”
