This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 5th day of November, 1941, in accordance with request made by the self - Miss [2543], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading Set bet. 10:30 to 10:40 A. M. Taken 4:05 to 4:15 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Florida.

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2543].

3. As we find, there are real improvements in the physical forces of this body.

4. To be sure, little change is indicated either in the vision or the hearing; yet the corrections have been very well done for the beginning of the treatments.

5. We would, now, have at least a period of thirty days of using the Appliance which has been indicated for the body. Be sure all ingredients are properly mixed; that is, each added in its order, and the correct amount of each used. Use this as directed for thirty days. THEN empty all the solutions and cleanse the poles that go into the solution. Cleanse each day the connections that are made to the body. Be sure these are firm, yet not too tight on the body.

6. Then, after the thirty days, begin with further osteopathic corrections. There has not as yet been completed all of the adjustments or the spinal alignment as indicated in the beginning. It will require patience, persistence, faith, hope, love; not merely stated, not merely declared, but LIVED in the life day by day.

7. Do not lose patience with self, with others, nor with any that would tend to hinder thee from using, applying and keeping in accord with that ye have mentally possessed as a manner of relief from the physical disturbances.

8. KNOW - as is known deep in the mind, in the soul - all healing, of a physical, mental or spiritual nature, must come from the divine within, being aroused to the consciousness of the divine presence within.

9. This done, in that manner, ye may grow then in grace, in knowledge, in understanding.

10. Know that the formality of prayer, or of physical activity in any manner or of any nature, is merely a means to an end - but not to a selfish end. True, it is for the personal self, for the personal activity, but to the glory of the Lord, thy Savior, thy faith, thy hope - and not to the glory of self or any individual.

11. Do these in this manner, and when there has been again a series of fifteen to sixteen osteopathic adjustments - after the vibrations through the low electrical forces - further suggestions may be given.

12. Be thou faithful.

13. We are through for the present.

Dear Mr. Cayce,

I found the reading of the fifth in my mail box when I got home Friday night, & your letter yesterday. Thank you for both. I went by to see Dr. Kline yesterday afternoon, but it was Saturday & she was not in her office. I will go again tomorrow & will leave the copy of the directions for her.

I think the reading is good, so far as it goes. Do you advise having another one after this thirty day use of the appliance & the second osteopathic adjustments? I am glad it said there was real improvement. I am not conscious of any

The wet cell appliance arrived last Wednesday, and I began the use of it Thursday, the sixth. I hope I am using it correctly - I am so far as I am capable of judging. You were so explicit in saying that the copper and nickle plates should be cleaned with the emery cloth after each using, that I wonder if they should be discolored from use? I always do rub them with the emery cloth, but I have observed no discoloration or anything to indicate the need of cleaning. I mixed the solution according to the directions, and Mr. Godfrey sent me the atomidine & gold already made up. I could find no mark on the jar or the lid to indicate which pole should be attached to which opening in the lid, so I assumed it didn’t matter, and I hope I’m right about it.

I suppose I am to discontinue the use of the appliance after 30 days, when the second osteopathic adjustments begin. That was one of my questions that wasn’t answered directly.

I certainly am obliged to you for the reading, & for your advice & many kindnesses. I am trying to be faithful.

R2. 11/26/41 [2543]‘s letter to EC:

Dear Mr. Cayce, In following the directions given me in your last reading, I am using the wet cell appliance through December 5th, which is thirty days. And I am planning to take the second series of osteopathic adjustments from Dr. Kline beginning on the 6th of December.

The questions I want to ask you this time are these:

Would there be any gain in using the appliance during the time I am taking the osteopathic treatments? Neither reading seemed to indicate that there would be; but if you feel it would be advantageous to use it also I would like to do so; otherwise, of course, not, because of the expense of the solutions.

All solutions will have been used as long as they should be by Dec. 6th (the main solution for thirty days, the atomidine & chloride of gold for the last fifteen days) - but I’ve had the misfortune to use the copper plate in the wrong place several times when it should have been on the ninth dorsal. I lost the mark Dr. Kline put on the ninth dorsal for me, and used my own counting and calculating for several times before going back to her for a new mark - and I usually got the tenth or eleventh dorsal. That won’t happen again, but I wonder if it would be well to keep on using the battery a few days longer than thirty - even if the solutions are not changed. Please advise me.

The third question is whether the sentence in the last reading which said “There has not yet been completed all of the adjustments of the spinal alignment as indicated in the beginning” means that all adjustments that were supposed to be made during the first fifteen treatments have not been made. Please answer this for me. Do you have any suggestion for Dr. Kline? I feel sure she will co-operate to the best of her ability; but I can’t MAKE her write to you, though I know she is interested.

Another question is this: When Mr. Godfrey sent me the new solutions of chloride of gold and atomidine for the second fifteen days, he sent three two-ounce bottles of atomidine. My directions were to use six ounces of equal parts of commercial strength atomidine and distilled water. So I mixed three ounces of what Mr. Godfrey sent with three ounces of distilled water. I hope that is right. I have three ounces of the atomidine left. The gold came ready for use.

I hope this is a very happy Thanksgiving with you and yours. I am very thankful for all the help you have given me.

R3. 12/1/41 EC’s letter to [2543]:

Dear Miss [2543]

Have yours of the 26th - please pardon me for not answering yours of the 9th also sooner, but went to N.Y. on the 10th and only returned to the Beach last night, and there is scarcely ever any time to write when am on such trips, meeting and talking with so many people, keeps one about as busy as can be.

Do hope you are feeling a bit better by now, are you able to see or feel any difference what ever?

I believe the idea, Miss [2543], the information attempts to present, if I understand it properly, there were certain corrections Dr. Kline could make that would help, then the use of the low electrical forces should do certain things, then Dr. Kline could better finish up the job of the corrections, that would help still further. Do not think it best to use the appliance while taking the adjustments, else the information would have suggested it be done that way. There have been times when it has done such, but as it made such a note of doing it the one at the time, think it best to do just that way. Be sure and have all attachments clean, when you are through on the 6th, so they will not be corroded when you wish to use them again, emery or fine sandpaper usually does it well. To be sure, you will have the Atomidine solution, when you are to use it again, correct from your reading you were to use it at that strength, and not full commercial strength - would empty all containers and fill with soda water - then rinse well before the next charge is to be made up.

Am sure, Miss [2543], you are having to revive almost dead nerves to action, such to be real effective must be slow, this can be done am sure, have seen too many such things done, and so it can be for you, but take it slowly, carefully and prayerfully. While in N.Y. saw a mother whose baby [2436] was born blind - and she had been told there was no hope, yet, she tells me now after a few months of following suggestions in a reading, all admit there is improvement, as the baby does respond to light, and is better in every way. Oh I know yours is different, yet, God can and does work with those who work with HIM.

Don’t be overanxious - just live that you expect HIM to do. Just be all the help to others, you would have Him be for you, and the the help is yours. No, it is not impossible, nor improbable, you can and HE will give you the help you desire, to use in HIS cause.

Please don’t think me preachy, don’t mean to be, that am sure you know, but wonderful help has come, is coming each day for others, and can and will come for you. While was away, had wire from a lady in Ala. and today she writes “All will have to admit the suggestion in your reading for Mr. [1112] saved his life this time.”

We had a very nice trip to N.Y., stayed with friends in Rye, and went to N.H. for Thanksgiving on the 20th.

R4. 1/4/42 [2543]‘s letter to EC:

Dear Mr. Cayce,

I appreciated your Christmas greeting, and hope I can live up to the wisdom exhibited in it. I hope that all of you had a splendid holiday season and that this new year holds great happiness and usefulness for you.

I am taking my second series of osteopathic adjustments from Dr. Kline, but at her suggestion, we are taking them slower than last time - two a week, and it will be near the end of January - the 27th to be exact, I think - before the series of fifteen is completed. I cannot say that I have noticed any improvement in either my eyes or ears. Dr. Kline says I am much more relaxed - that when she began the treatments my spine (or nerves, or whatever it is she works on) was very tense, that now it is much better. She says I HAVE had deep treatments. I like her very much personally. She is a Catholic; her husband, I think, was (or is) a Methodist & his grandfather a Methodist minister. However she may feel about spiritual healing, she says faith helps anything.

Now, what am I to do when these treatments are finished? I have no more definite instructions, you know, after that. So I’m writing to you for advice.

I certainly wish I could be in Norfolk when you, Mrs. Sanford, Mrs. Eggleston, Glenn Clark and others have the series of meetings that Mrs. Eggleston wrote me about. I also wish I had a prayer-group down here.

Dear Mr. Cayce,

Thank you for your kind letter of the seventh. We will have the fifteenth osteopathic adjustment at noon on January 27th; so will you please advise me when you will give me the reading? I should like to know as soon as possible? Dr. Kline says I HAVE improved.

My answer to the letter to Association members dated January 8th [See under 2678-1 Background] is YES. I think Dr. Kline was pleased that you sent her one.
