This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 10th day of June, 1942, in accordance with request made by the self - Miss [2543], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 10:45 to 11:00 A. M. Eastern War Time.
-
GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2543]; this we have had before.
-
As we find, there are decided improvements in the general physical forces of the body, and - more specific - there are bettered conditions in the activity of the sensory and auditory forces of the body.
-
The general outlook also is better.
-
In the present, as we find, we would rest from most of the applications for a period of at least six to eight weeks; that is, the Appliance as well as the the osteopathic adjustments have performed an excellent function - they have been very well done. Not always have the connections in the Appliance been in proper order, but there needs to be those reactions in the body.
-
Then, after six to eight weeks, we would begin first with the Appliance again, carrying the Gold Solution specifically; this more than any other solution, - that is, this solution ONLY for that period.
-
The connection through which the Gold Solution passes vibratorially should be made to the lacteal duct and umbilicus plexus, while the other connection would be made to the upper part of the 9th dorsal - so that the vibration is carried directly through the body.
-
Change the Gold Solution every fifteen days, and continue in this manner for two charges - or changes; that is, for a period of thirty days, before the osteopathic treatments would be again started.
-
Then, have another series of the osteopathic adjustments.
-
But during the rest period - that is, the next six to eight weeks - be careful as to the diet. Have plenty of activity in the open. Have as much of the pleasant environs of every nature as practical.
-
Also each week, to aid better in the skin disturbance and in the tendencies for incoordination of proper sources or channels of eliminations, have a thorough hydrotherapy treatment.
-
The hydrotherapy treatment, now, would be changed from the manner in which this has been given. We do not mean to have a colonic irrigation each week, but do each week have a mild sweat with the Fume Bath. The Fumes should carry Witchhazel; about two teaspoonsful of Witchhazel to a pint of boiling water in croup cup or in an open container that allows the fumes to settle over the body. The hydrotherapy treatments that have been given have been fairly good, but these should now be given a little bit differently. Let there be more of Fume Bath than that of the Dry Cabinet heat, see; preferably an ALL FUME Bath - the heat coming entirely from the boiling water in the cabinet, with the fumes rising from same.
-
Following such a Fume Bath, let the body be massaged thoroughly - in the Swedish massage manner; not pinching the body too much, but a rolling, circular motion for the muscles and tendons, as well as all portions of the body. Follow this with an oil rub especially along the spine, the whole portions of the body, and the limbs, with this combination of oils, in these proportions:
Olive Oil…2 ounces, Peanut Oil…2 ounces, Lanolin Oil (dissolved)…1 teaspoonful.
Follow this with a light alcohol rub.
-
These should keep the body on the improve and allow recuperative forces to react nominally for the body.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Should anything more or different be done for the skin conditions? (A) These massages and fume baths as indicated should be the better manner to cope with these. Of course, if there is irritation, the use of Cuticura Ointment will alleviate it.
-
We are through with this Reading.

Dear Mr. Cayce:
Thank you for the reading and your letter of June 10th. I was very glad to see that it said there is improvement. I feel sure there is in the general physical condition. After the reading came, I went to see Dr. Kline about the cabinet baths and massages and investigated several places other than the one I have been going to. The place here where they give regular fume baths would not agree to go by the directions in the reading, but said I would get results from the mineral fumes that they ordinarily use. Those fumes are primarily sulphur, I think, with other minerals too, but I felt it was more important to get what the reading advised. So the best I have been able to do was to go back to the same woman I have been going to, get her to put a small electric stove with a small pan of hot water with witch hazel in it in the cabinet and reduce the number of bulbs giving out heat. I wanted much more boiling water, but this is the best I have been able to get. Dr. Kline said she could do it all right and she spoke to her about it; but I was disappointed to see the tiny pan of water, which never did boil the whole time I was in the cabinet. She put the witch hazel in it, and I perspired profusely; but I am afraid it was primarily dry heat. She suggested that we rub witch hazel on the body. Do you think that would be well? If you have any suggestions to make I will appreciate them. I am taking the baths every Saturday now.
I have thought of you during your convention meetings and hoped there were many people who could attend and that you had a very fine and profitable time. I am sure Mrs. [2574] could not get there, for she is leading a retreat in Alabama for my mother and some of her friends. I kept the meditation and prayer period with you Friday morning. I shall be interested to hear of the convention.
You will hear from me again the first of July. With much appreciation and all best wishes to you. I am
Sincerely yours, [2543]

Mr. Edgar Cayce Association for Research and Enlightenment, Inc. Virginia Beach, Virginia Dear Mr. Cayce:
I am enclosing the five dollars I owe you on my last reading. I am sorry I had to ask you to wait on it and appreciate your doing so.
I think the fume bath was much better last week than the first time. The woman had the water with the witch hazel in it boiling and the cabinet very warm when I stepped into it. The mirrors were completely fogged out by the moisture and the heat was so great that I began to perspire immediately and could stay in only fifteen minutes. She left on the heat of one bulb in addition to the electric stove on which the water was boiling. What do you think of this? It was hotter this way than with the dry bulb heat, and as I said above, fifteen minutes of it was about all I could stand. I had been staying in about thirty minutes before. Do you think this is all right? I was very pleased that she got the water to boiling in advance, for the first time it never did boil. Of course I want to get the very best results, so I hope we are doing it properly.
I was glad to hear that you had such a good convention meeting and many out of town and out of state people could be there. I was also glad to receive the copy of A Search for God last week and am very anxious to read it, but so far have had only enough time to skim over the various chapters. It looks most interesting and helpful and I hope to be able to settle to read it on my vacation in about three weeks.
Always with appreciation and very best wishes to you, I am
Very sincerely yours, [2543]

Dear Mr. Cayce:
Less than two weeks ago I received your letter of November 10th, telling me that the publishers were mailing me a copy of the book that is the story of your life. You will see from the address at the top of the page that I have moved my living quarters. And I have received no notification that the book was received at or delivered to 1636 King Street, my old address. I have waited this long to write to you to see if I would receive such notification. So, if the book was sent to me, will you be kind enough to have the publishers recall it & mail it to me at the above address? I will pay the extra postage. If it is there, it probably will be held indefinitely (unless recalled), for the woman who runs the house and I are not on friendly terms. This sounds unchristian I know, but the fault is not mine and I do not feel that I should go there. But I do not want your book to be lost, and I am sure that I should like to have a copy of it very much.
If you have seen Mrs. [2574] in recent months, you may have heard why I have discontinued my physical treatments. It got to be almost impossible financially, and Mrs. [2574] and others advised me to go on my faith, depending on the God powers within me. It was with no lack of gratitude to you that I discontinued them, and I still think your readings are remarkable and wonderful things. I shall read the book with much interest.
The publishers could address the Management of the … Hotel, … St., about the book. Perhaps if it remains there until the first of January, it might be sent to me by someone coming my way, but it hasn’t been done so far. If you do not mind the delay, it might come into my hands eventually - in which case I will let you know. But I do not feel that I can inquire there about anything.
With all best wishes to you and your household, I am
Very sincerely yours, [2543]
