-
EC: As we find, colds, congestions - which require increasing the eliminations in the manner that has been indicated from time to time; and the taking of a stimuli of the nature that will build resistances for the system which are necessary.
-
The eliminations that have been indicated are well.
-
After the general eliminations have been increased, then we would add the stimuli - which we will indicate - that will also offer a stimulation for eliminations; also aiding the respiratory system, the digestive system, allaying the inflammatory conditions in the bronchi and larynx, preventing the cough, and acting also as an expectorant. It would be prepared in this manner:
-
To 2 ounces Pure Strained Honey add 4 ounces Distilled Water. Let come to a boil. Skim off the refuse as it comes to the boil. Then set aside to cool somewhat. Then add, in the order named - shaking or stirring each ingredient into the solution as it is added:
Pure of Apple Brandy…1 1/2 ounces, Syrup of Rhubarb…1/2 ounce, Syrup of Horehound…1/4 ounce, Syrup of Wild Cherry Bark…1 ounce, Chloroform…10 minims.
-
Shake the solution well before the dose is taken, which should be not more than a teaspoonful - MEASURED; do not just pour out or guess at it! Take about two doses during an evening, before ready to retire - that is, at least half or three-quarters of an hour apart. Do not take too often when the body is out in the weather, or when the activities are outside. Inside, it may be taken three or four hours apart.
-
Be mindful of the diets, as has been indicated.
-
Well to have the hydrotherapy treatment and the thorough rub.
-
Be mindful that there are more liquids than solid foods in the diet for a few days.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) What special eliminant should be used? (A) As indicated heretofore for the body.
-
We are through for the present.

B2. 4/7/38 Sec’ty Mrs. [189]‘s letter: “Mr. [257] is home with a bad cold today and I expect you are to give a ck. rdg. on Mrs. [903] at the hospital tomorrow a.m. [See 903-29]. It might be advisable if you have time to give Mr. [257] a physical as he has been terribly upset about Mrs. [903] and all the other general business conditions here which have been terribly chaotic to put it mildly…he ought to have a general diagnosis and recommendations for caring for himself so that he can get this cold out of his system.”
