1. GC: you will give the relations of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as or called [2602].

3. In giving the interpretations of the records as we find them here, many might gain a great deal in analyzing the records of this entity; not only in this material plane but through the sojourns in the earth. For here you have an exceptional individual entity; one capable of accomplishing most anything it would set out to do, whether this pertained to catching a man, teaching school, running a business, making improvements in anything about the home, cooking a meal, running a Sunday School or a state office in political things.

4. These indicate, then, the abilities latent and manifested in this entity.

5. We would give the interpretations with the hope and desire that this information may aid the entity in fulfilling those purposes for which it entered this sojourn.

6. There is little that the entity has to do with ordinarily termed astrological aspects. Yet from the very nature of the abilities latent and manifested all of these are expressed or manifested. But here the entity has used and not been used by impulses. There’s a great deal of difference. For as was expressed of old, “Be angry but sin not.” The entity can be angry and laugh and have her own way at the same time. These indicate the abilities to use, then, those influences that may be impelling others. Be sure you use these correctly. For it depends upon the spirit, the purpose, the hope, the desire with which you use the powers that be. Remember, God hath delivered to thee - as to every other soul - that as pertaineth to heaven, to earth and to hell. What do we do with it? It depends upon the spirit ye entertain, for ye become co-creators with the Father - in bringing what? in the earth.

7. Here the purpose of the entity has been well. To its own self has come the harder things, because of lack of discretion at times in helping others. Know with what spirit they move also, and thus is it given how that ye shall treat each individual. Everyone must stand for the other, as written, and then - in the next verse - everyone must stand for himself. These are compatible in the spirit with which activities and judgements are drawn.

8. Astrologically we find Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and Venus all a part of the experience.

9. The entity is sincere, the entity is loving, but never very affectionate. These are well, but there are reasons - the affection is needed at times, even to have your own way, as you will find with your son as well as the old man.

10. In the application of self in these directions, then; we find that the entity is one vigorous in mind, if not always in body. One that finds the way - if at first it doesn’t succeed, it’ll try the other way - and keep right on until it does succeed, if it has chosen to carry through.

11. In Jupiter we find a universal consciousness. This is correct provided that universal consciousness is also prompted by the spirit of truth and of purpose; and the purpose for each soul-entity in the earth is to glorify God, not self glorified but God - and thus honoring self. This is well to remember.

12. As to the appearance in the earth, these we find quite varied and, under those activities that may be indicated, something of the personality as well as the individuality of the entity - from activities through those particular periods.

13. Before this the entity was in the land now called Chicago, then Dearborn, through those periods when there were turmoils; yea the necessity for the evacuation. And with other groups the entity left.

14. The entity became a leader when those turmoils came about in the attempts to cross the river. The entity took charge and, even though destruction was brought to many, the entity succeeded in saving many.

15. The name then was Hester Puryan. The entity gained in the experience, for it forgot self and helped others - physically mentally, spiritually.

16. In the latter portion of its experience the entity was active in teaching in the schools of the land. Hence in the present the entity would make a pretty good school teacher, as has been indicated, as well as a home builder. It will make a success of any activities it chooses, whether in a commercial or political direction or in home, or even a pretty good preacher!

17. Before that the entity was in the Holy Land when many were gathered from many points of interest to the feast at the day of Pentecost.

18. The entity was among those from Laodicea that journeyed with those groups for the edifying, because of those mysterious messages that had gone out from those gathered there.

19. The entity saw and heard the Disciples, and heard Peter’s sermon on that day.

20. The entity finds itself now not incredulous, but not too easily sold on any unusual or strange thing either. Very well balanced, then, but “show me and then I am with you” is the attitude of the entity.

21. These are those experiences gained by the entity then, as Rhea, and the entity was among those that saw disputations in the church in Laodicea with Paul, Barnabas, Mark, Luke, Lucius and those that were at disagreement regarding activities among the associations of individuals at that period.

22. Yet the entity learned much of politique and can be very politique in its applications or dealings with others in the present.

23. Before that the entity was in the Persian and Arabian land during those periods when there were the teachings of the leader to the various groups that eventually used that “city in the hills and the plains” as their place of exchange.

24. The entity worked in the capacity of a helper in the hospital in the care of the aged and the infirm. But later the entity became as the ruler of same, or what today would be called the superintendent - and bossed very well the various groups.

25. Thus those activities of a political nature or in a commercial sense become easy for the entity. But it will not make a success of a commercial enterprise and the home at the same time. They should be on the same basis, but few keep them on such.

26. In the experience the entity brought helpful forces to all of those throughout the land. The activities of the entity were from the land of Saad [Saide?] in the name then Naruhl.

27. Before that the entity was in the Egyptian land during those periods of turmoil and strife when the Priest was banished because of the differences that arose between the counselors of the King as to the activities brought about.

28. The entity chose to go with the Priest, remaining with those activities through the period of banishment, returning with the closer association with the entity Iso-Isis at that period for the care brought about in the preparation of others for activity in the Temple of Sacrifice and the Temple Beautiful.

29. The name then was Is-It-Elous.

30. As to the abilities of the entity.

31. In any field of activity, as indicated that the entity may choose, it may make a mental, a material success - if the promptings or the spirit with which the entity acts or is impelled, is in accord with the Creative Forces - and the uses are ever for the glory of God and thus to the honor of self.

33. (Q) How can I be of the most help to my husband in this work? (A) Counseling with him - as an equal; not as one even below him, not even second best!

34. (Q) How can I best train and guide my son to overcome present tendencies in the wrong direction? (A) Endow him by precept and by example with the spirit of the cause or purpose of the Christ-Consciousness. Know that as ye open the way, sow the seed in activity and in word, ye are to leave the rest with God. Ye cannot force, ye can only feed, ye can only plant, ye can only cultivate. God gives the increase.

35. (Q) Have I any particular ability which should be developed? (A) These as indicated depend upon the choice; you may develop any one of them you want to!

36. (Q) When and where have I been associated in past experience with: my husband [3902]? (A) In the experience just before this as well as in Egypt.

37. (Q) My son, [2780]. (A) In the Palestine experience or in the land of Laodicea, and in Egypt.

38. (Q) Is there some particular reason why I have not been given another child, apart from possible physical reasons? [3/10/45 Another son was born - see under 3602-2 Reports.] (A) This has been rather dependent upon what the purpose will be with the one already.

39. (Q) Should I continue efforts to dispose of my property at Lower Boulevard, New London, or would it be wiser to retain ownership and rent it? (A) Be wise to dispose of same within the next year or year and a half.

Letter 1/7/44: ”…My own reading I found extremely flattering - after all, though I knew if I set my heart on something I could usually accomplish it, yet I’m afraid I didn’t have quite the opinion of myself that the reading gives. I’m afraid it will take a lot of living up to. I am going to arrange for a reading for my husband [3902] as soon as possible…” [See 3902-2.]

10. Assuming your life to be no casual accident or experiment, do you have nay new or different concept as to the purpose of your life as a result of your Life Reading? Yes, decidedly.

11. Have you ever systematically or otherwise set apart any part of your day, week, month or any other period of your time for instrospection or an examination and analysis of your inner self (and we do not mean writing in a diary) as suggested in your Life Reading? If not, why not and, if so, are there any results measureable to you? Not regular, but quite frequently.

12. Do you regard you vocation, whether it be as laborer, supervisor, manager, official, engineer, lawyer, doctor, housewife, mother, or what not, as the dominant force in your life or do you look upon your vocation as an agency through which you can the better fulfill your purpose in this life? The latter.

13. How, in your opinion, can our Association best carry on the work of Edgar Cayce and the good for which he stood? I suppose through spreading his teachings.

Naturally, following a life reading where it refers to vocations has not much application to a housewife. I have made no change in vocation due to my reading, as I devote most of my time to my home and family. However, I do some accounting work, a good deal of income tax work, and typing of court transcript for the superior court reporter here, which gives me plenty of opportunity for varied activities and fills up any idle minutes I might have. I find it all very interesting, and would miss it terribly if I had to give it all up.

Life Rdg.: Value Spiritually, I found the readings I had, combined with others I had access to any my attendance at the congress, and the information that was available to me there very helpful in forming and entirely different concept of life than I had before. So much of our religious outlook didn’t make sense to me, any more than it does to lots of others, but I knew nothing else. The readings present the only plausible answer to a lot of my questions. The only thing is that I can’t now, somehow, attend a church service and get anything out of it - maybe it is a lack in me, maybe I am just spoiled for the orthodox approach and the revivalistic methods used, but I just can’t see it. Consequently my church attendance has suffered greatly. Unless I can hear something that I get something out of, I feel I have wasted my time and effort.

I have tried conscientiously to use my information in my life at home and outside - not that I feel I have made too much progress in that direction, but I can see things differently and try to adjust to the situations as they arise from a different angle than I used to.

I believe I have been successful in guiding my older son [2780] to a deep belief in the readings and the truths they have shown us. With my husband [3902] I have not been so successful. The little boy is only six, so naturally he is too young to go too far with it as yet.

Life Rdg.: Value I have always been deeply grateful to [2454] for opening the way for me to meet Mr. Cayce and become acquainted with the work, as it has made a big change in me.

R5. 5/1/57 Mrs. [2454 reported that Mrs. [2602] had joined the Catholic church with her husband and children (husband had been raised a Catholic), and that she would not be as active in A.R.E. affairs as previously, due mostly to her husband’s lack of interest.
