This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 17th day of July, 1944, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [264], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading Courtney Terrace, 3:30 to 4:30 P. M. Eastern War Time. Virginia Beach, Va.

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time with suggestions for further corrective measures, answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here; this we have had before.

3. As we find, there have been some improvements. While there are weakened conditions from the strains and drains on the body, through the periods when there are those increased eliminations, we would find that it would be well if there would be now the building up of the blood supply for coagulation, and it would be well for the operative measures which have been indicated. While this will require the removal of some of the organs in pelvis, these would be much better. These will stand the strain on the system if that coagulation is builded, and having such as Babcock to remove these disturbing conditions, see? [W. Wayne Babcock, M.D., Temple Univ. 6. (Q) What place would be best for me to recuperate? (A) Where it would be almost quiet, like in the country.

7. (Q) What anesthetic should be used? (A) This should depend upon the doctor and it should be a local, for these conditions it would be better for the heart’s activities.

8. (Q) Should the uterus be removed? (A) As has been indicated, portions of the pelvis will be necessary to be removed, not all of them.

9. (Q) What causes fatty growth over stomach? (A) This will be relieved with the removal of the retention of the system, see?

10. (Q) What causes flashes of light before my eyes? (A) These are the developments of the body. Don’t do anything about them. Rather encourage them and use them.

11. (Q) What causes pains in arms and legs, and what would correct it? (A) These are from the stress on the circulation.

12. (Q) What will heal rash on back of neck? (A) “DDD” prescription.

13. (Q) What would be best to build up the system for operation? (A) Let this be done in the hospital. These will be taken with glucose, as well as a supply of blood itself.

14. (Q) When should the body go to the hospital? (A) Whenever it chooses. First there should be the examination and the consultation and then there should be the period for this.

15. (Q) What diet should be taken after operation? (A) Those foods which would be body-building, as has been given the body so oft for replenishing the blood supply, keeping plenty of the enzymes which will add to the body-forces.

16. (Q) Any other advice that would help to build? (A) Keep the mental and spiritual attitude if there will be the improvements there should be.

R1. 8/7/44 She wrote: “Well, I went to see Dr. Babcock. He is FINE, so very fine. He was interested in my rdg., asked me if he might have it, which of course I intended that he should. I am to go back on Sun., Aug. 13th. Dr. Babcock did not say what day he’d operate, but his sec’ty said it would probably be on Mon. or Tues. 14th or 15th, or longer, depending on how long it took to make for the proper coagulation, so, considering all that, could you change my rdg. appointment to the 18th of Aug. instead of the 9th, in case I should need a Ck. Physical at that time? and if I did not need it, could I have it changed with someone who is to have one in Oct.? My purpose in making the appointment was hoping that I’d be able to begin my real life work by then, and to have advice about it, but I do know that to get well first is the most important, so do what you think best. I do not want to be the cause of anyone losing a rdg., and I believe you can arrange it, so it won’t block anyone else…

“Mother went to Phila. with me on the 3rd. Dr. Babcock inserted something in my uterus to coagulate blood - to be kept there nearly two days. I was quite nauseated from it - and about all right now.”

R2. 8/9/44 She wrote: “Dr. Babcock said I’d be out of the hospital in ten days after the operation.”

R3. 8/14/44 Sister [678]‘s letter: “[853] just called us on the phone and told us that [264] was operated on this a.m. about 9 o’clock under a local. [853] said up to now she was getting on fine, so much better than anyone of us had hoped for. So glad you helped her all these trying years… Mother [851] met Dr. Babcock the day [264] went for examination and she liked him so much. I hear that he is a wonderful doctor. I know [264] will write you when she is able.”

R4. 8/16/44 Husband [853]‘s ltr.: “[264] is doing nicely and Dr. Babcock is pleased with her condition. She has been suffering with pain and soreness caused by cramping muscles, but she has had no heart disturbance and no nausea. Dr. Babcock said she would be much more comfortable today.”

R5. 8/17/44 Husband [853]‘s ltr: “Well, I am back in N.Y. tonight. Dr. Babcock said it would be all right for me to come back and that [264] would be sitting in the sun parlor by Sunday. She has gotten on marvelously well.”

R6. 8/28/44 She obtained Ck. Physical 264-60.

B1. 12/4/43 She obtained Ck. Physical Rdg. 264-58 advising that she should now prepare her body for removal surgically of uterine tumor which had been unoperable since 1925 due to heart condition, anemia, etc.

B2. 7/17/44 She was present, submitting questions, including: “Is my body built up sufficiently for the operation? Is it advisable to have the operation now, or when? Advise name of doctor who would be best to perform the operation. Would Dr. Stuart McGuire of Richmond, Va., Dr. Jarman or Dr. Weathers of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., or Dr. Babcock of Philadelphia be advisable? Give how the operation should be performed, or how the growth should be removed. (Dr. McGuire was the one who operated on me years ago for removal of appendix and discovered the cyst but did not remove it at the time on account of my heart, and after that I was too anemic to have the operation; it was then that I came to the Cayce Hospital
