This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 26th day of December, 1928, in accordance with request made by self - Edgar Cayce.
[Edgar Cayce; Mrs. Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mr. L. B. Cayce.]
Time of Reading 12:00 Noon - Eastern Standard Time. …, Va. (Check Physical Suggestion)
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here - this we have had before. Now, the conditions as we find are produced from non-attention of those suggestions as have been given. There should NOT have been attempted the taking of information [in psychic rdgs.] with the physical forces so incapacitated as to leave the mental, physical, and the reaction of forces between same, as are given in suggestions in the waking and resting periods; for with same OPEN there MUST enter those conditions that are contrary-wise to the best forces for the body.
-
In correcting the physical, this is another condition. In the distresses, these are produced from cold, congestion, and the reaction of same on mucus membranes of the system, especially in the pulmonary and in the eliminations as are radiated or acted upon through the hypogastric and pneumo- gastric plexus. Well that the body rest, then, from such as would cause any distress to this INTER-BETWEEN, and that the light rays and those vibrations as may be set up for the establishing of the equilibrium between the nerve system and the eliminations be established, with the manipulations necessary to make coordinations with the whole of the muscular system. These are the better conditions for correction. Not so much of medicinal properties, other than to keep the alimentary canal in nominal working order, or to establish the normal equilibrium in the system; not producing strains over the body through ANY activity or form. Keep away from crowds and from that which would excite the body physically or mentally. And when these are CORRECTED, then there will be much better reaction through the whole system for the activities of the body, mentally and physically. The application should be of those of the ultra-Violet or Alpine rays, and of those of the osteopathic manipulations, alternated - that is, every other day for EACH. Three to five days, WITH the proper precaution, should see near normal forces. Do that.
-
(Q) Will the Violet ray room at the Cayce Hospital answer for the ultra Violet ray treatments, if the body site in this room? (A) Aid, but not sufficiently deep for every other day treatment.
-
(Q) Where can the body get the ultra Violet ray treatment? (A) Any place where such a machine is in use?
-
(Q) Should the body take the light [cabinet sweat] baths, as it has? (A) Hasn’t given any here at this time?
-
(Q) Any further suggestions for the benefit of this body? (A) Do that, as has been given.
-
(Q) Would it be well or of benefit to the body to take the trip to Texas later on, as contemplated? (A) Be very well. Rest or recuperation, or resuscitation, for an equilibrium of the MENTAL AND PHYSICAL forces is most necessary for the best conditions of the body, as has been given. Take in consideration ALL of the physical forces, the mental forces, and the application of same towards that being attempted. Consider each singly, but know they must COOPERATE as a unit, and there may not be strain upon any one without detriment to that one or to the whole. We are through with this reading.
Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 1/5/29 He wrote Mr. [195]: “I’m glad to say I’m feeling a lot better - though Dr. House and I are planning to go to N.Y. tomorrow afternoon for a few days, to see about the beds and some of the furniture that we want to consider for the Hospital - for this should be getting in readiness. Even yesterday we would have been able to have taken a patient if we had so desired, if the Hospital had been open. We certainly must get our membership committee running, as well as the hospital committee - so they may coordinate one with the other.” [See [254] series.]
R2. 1/11/29 EC wrote Mr. [599] that the middle of Dec. he had the flu and is just now recuperating.
R3. 2/9/29 Mr. [137]‘s letter under 900-422 report indicates that EC has neuritis.
R4. 2/20/29 EC wrote Mrs. [325]: “We Gertrude and I] had a very pleasant little visit to her brother and family in Texas and some of my friends and people [1/16/29 to 2/4/29]. Quite a flying visit but I’m sure it did us both good.”
R5. 4/29/29 EC wrote Mr. [779] in re first formal address after the opening of the Cayce Hospital [See 254-49 Reports]: “I wasn’t feeling as good as I might have been, but I suppose it was more from excitement at seeing a dream come true than anything else.”
R6. 9/21/29 See 900-453, Par. 9-A in re EC being renewed.
R7. 10/9/29 GD’s note: “EC has a bad cold - not feeling well at all.”
R8. 11/8/29 EC obtained Ck. Physical rdg. 294-120.
