This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 30th day of May, 1943, in accordance with request made by the self through wife - Mrs. [3175], new Associate Member of the Association for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., also by friend, Mr. [3344].

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [3021].

2. As we find, while conditions are very serious, these need not necessarily be fatal at this time. The condition regarding the inactivity of the kidneys, - as related to liver and heart and lungs, - is much easier than it has been for some time - though there is great weakness.

3. We would begin using, as soon as it can be prepared, a third of a teaspoonful of Pure Beef Juice every thirty minutes, just as medicine. However, this would be just sipped and allowed to dissipate on the tongue without even swallowing, though there will come one or two swallows as this is assimilated with the glandular forces and saliva of the mouth. Prepare this fresh every day.

4. It will give strength, even quicker than injections of combinations of B-1. But DO give the B-1, but in combinations with others; as the B-1 Complex, - even B-1 as prepared by the Miles Laboratories, Elkhart, Indiana.

5. Give this twice each day for the first few days.

6. If there is the disturbance again with the kidneys, hold in the mouth (not swallow) a small piece of resin.

7. Do apply Glyco-Thymoline Packs over the kidney area of evenings, for at least an hour. Use three to four thicknesses of cotton cloth saturated with the Glyco-Thymoline.

8. Do keep gentle massages of the limbs for the circulation slowing through same, especially in the feet, hands, ankles.

9. Do give a relaxing, not stimulating, of those centers that aid in the secondary cardiac center, - in the 5th and 6th dorsal centers. Gently relax this area once or twice each day.

10. These do, and we should keep the activities so that strength will return, resistances may be builded.

11. Ready for questions.

B1. 5/2/43 Friend Mr. [3344] wrote: “Mr. [3021] is apparently in final stages of hypertension as his sight is now affected and the doctors are fearful of hemorrhages in this area. He had a kidney removed about 6 mos. ago but the high blood pressure was not removed.”

B2. 5/17/43 Wife wrote: “He came here to the Urologic Clinic on 4/17th with retinal hemorrhages caused by an advanced case of hypertension. Last Oct. he underwent an operation for the removal of his right kidney and we were hoping that would bring back the blood pressure to nearer normal but instead it has remained very high.”

B3. 5/20/43 “He is taking a prescription made up largely of vitamins. I do not know the exact contents.”

B4. 5/24/43 “Since our return home his condition has become more critical. He has been having severe pain in the back of the head and neck accompanied by many spells of vomiting. The blood pressure continues to remain extremely high and the condition of the heart is not good. The doctor seems unable to do anything more for him than he is doing and tells me that in his opinion Mr. [3021] cannot live any longer than a few months at the most and perhaps only a few days… He keeps saying he wishes you would have an opportunity to try to help him, for he has faith that you could be of help.”
