This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 11th day of June, 1934, in accordance with request made by Mrs. [255], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

1. EC: More hopeful. More better conditions.

2. Keep the way, for the law of the Lord IS perfect - converting the soul.

3. Be not in the way of the wayward, that consider not the ways of the Lord. For, what He has enjoined in the purposes for the souls of individuals to consummate in the earth may not be separated, if such souls will only keep their ways open that He may do in their experiences in the earth that which may bring joy, harmony, peace, contentment into the lives of many!

4. Man only may separate himself from the love of the Father. For, as ye do in thine heart and mind unto others, that is thy measure of the Lord’s will with and among men.

5. Make thy will, thy soul-activity, then one with His. Yea, the star rises in the east and will direct thy ways to Him that is calling - calling - “Come unto me, ye that are weak and heavy-laden; ye will find rest unto your souls, for my yoke is easy, my burden light” wilt the love of the Father and of His purposes with thee in the earth but guide and direct thee in the things thou thinkest, thou doest, in thine experience.

6. Let there be light in thy soul. Let there be joy in thy heart as ye come to commune with Him and thy loved ones in the earth day by day. As the prayer of the seeker, so is the touch of the body - and body - in the ways that are kept OPEN before the Lord. Let the glory of the Coming, then, keep bright in thine inner self, for the light of His countenance will lead and direct thee wilt thou but make thy will, thy desire, His desire.

R1. 6/12/34 Wife [255]‘s letter: “Thank you so much for all your former kindness and I bless you for your good thoughts. Sometime I may be able to reciprocate, - at present I have to discontinue.

“I have through this experience learned much, - the necessity of living every hour the Life as clearly as possible. I am surer of God as Presence and Power than ever in my life. The Divine Law must be manifested through us, and this now is my work.

“The reading on the [hair] tonic [255-12] I appreciate and when the time and persimmons are ripe I will work it all out.

“I am sure now we can let Mr. [378] develop Godward on his own path. I am fully comforted in respect to this.

“Wishing you ever continuous success in your work, with love to every one of you, Ever the same,” [255]

R2. 6/14/34 EC’s to Mrs. [255]: “I have just received yours of the 12th, and only wish it were possible for me to come in and talk with you instead of writing. It’s so hard to put into words on paper just the things I want to say. You know without my telling you, it has been a real pleasure and a joy for each and every one of us to try and be of a service at this time - and it will ever be the same. I am just hoping that at any time and on any occasion wherever you feel there is the remotest chance of our being of a help, or assistance in any way, you won’t hesitate to call on us. It is almost like blasphemy for you to speak of reciprocating, when you do mean and have meant so much to us in every conceivable way. We could never repay YOU.

“The information gotten on the tonic [255-12] was not at all satisfactory to me. Apparently there was something at the time which interfered. You know more about that, of course, than it’s possible for us to know. If there was, and if you would care to tell us about it, of course we would like to know.

“We are persuaded more and more each day that the Divine Law must be manifested through us each and every day. I hope and trust this finds all of you feeling the very best, physically, mentally and spiritually. Please let us hear from you whenever it is at all possible.

“We are all very busy; we have quite a number of appointments on hand, some of them quite speculative in a way and manner, yet we are always willing to be used if we can possibly be of service.

“All send our love and best wishes to you and yours.

R3. 6/27/34 “Thank you so much for your dear letter and all the love and helpfulness expressed in it… Please affirm God’s help for the home here, that I know what to do about it. Did I mention that Emmet Fox’s booklets and services have been such a wonderful help?”

R4. 7/7/34 Mr. [257]‘s letter to EC: “Did you hear the terrible news about Mr. [378]? It is too bad - I am surprised he did not seek advice from you, as it probably could have worked out satisfactorily. Just think, he was left $2,000,000.00 - so it seems everybody has been hit and no one spared… Do you advise me to call the [378] family?”

R5. 7/9/34 EC’s letter to Mr. [257]: “Recently I haven’t heard anything about the developments at the [378]‘s. Of course, I knew about it when he first disappeared. We have not heard nor enquired into the particulars, as to what was the development in his business affairs. I don’t know as to whether it would be a good thing for you to phone them or not. If I were you I would be guided rather by my own conscience in the matter. Of course they, as so many of us, are rather ‘touchy’ on some questions that involve the activities of the family; yet I know that they are about as lovely people as I have ever known. They are sensible, fair-minded, and some of the most SPIRITUAL-minded people that I have ever known in my life.”

R6. 7/31/34 Letter from EC to [311]: ”…Very recently we were in New York for a few days, and at the time saw Mrs. [255], [282] and his wife. They are looking well and borne up extraordinarily well under the trying circumstances. There are a lot of tales, of course, about what happened. Mrs. [255], of course, said very little or nothing. As to whether there is any definite idea as to just what happened, I don’t know. Some of the tales are the sort of things we couldn’t write about. We can talk it over when I see you. I think everything has been accepted as a matter of fact and is passing along in that sort of way and manner…”

R7. 9/26/34 Wife [255]‘s letter to HLC with suggestions for A.R.E., etc: “We leave here [the Lake] Oct. 7th, any mail before 4th will reach us, after that to …, N.Y. We are very happy and I hope to be able to write more soon. My first letter will be to Mr. Cayce. God is the only Do-er.”

R8. 10/1/34 Mrs. [255]‘s letter: “Enclosed [9/28/34 ltr. from Mr. [378]] will surprise you, as much as it did me. The letter is a holy thing, it shows the birth of a soul and, as such, I hope it will prove a great blessing in some way to you. I cannot add anything more, as he tells you all, our experiences, our love, our hopes.

“It is the first letter he has addressed to anyone outside of the family, - that is, his children. I am glad to alter my life and am waiting for His word to do so. Until I learned to think as I should (but thank God it is getting easier all the time), until I learned to surrender all, my possessions, everything, except my love, it was as if I had to be cut as with a knife. Mrs. [509], whose task it was to do this, often would say, just like a doctor, ‘I am sorry, but I must say this.’ And always I felt cleansed no matter how it hurt. So I can say truthfully, I would not be without what I have passed through, even if I could. So glorious it is ‘to know the presence of God.’” Lovingly, [255]

R9. 9/28/34 [378]‘s letter: “Some 5 months ago my affairs seemed so hopeless, the tangle so muddled, that I could not see my way out. Now, thanks to the books by Emmet Fox mentioned above (The Golden Key, Getting Results by Prayer, The Lord’s Prayer, The Sermon on the Mount), and the deep understanding and love of my good wife, everything is changing completely. It is a real miracle to watch how God is unfolding for us a glorious and wonderful plan for a happy new career, and all through scientific prayer. Almost each day some new development is bringing us nearer to our ultimate goal of establishing a happy home, where I can be actively engaged in business, applying the principles that I have absorbed by being guided into the path of right thoughts… [He made some suggestions in re conduct of A.R.E.] You may even question my right to approach you with any suggestions at all, since I made such a mess of my own affairs… Had I known what I know today, everything would be different. I had been living in a Fool’s Paradise and needed this shock to cleanse my soul. I have confessed my errors to God and I know He has forgiven me, for wonders have happened since we learned to pray in the scientific way. Hard as the experience has been, I know now there is a glorious happiness ahead of us.

“If these Emmet Fox books can be helpful to you in finding an all-satisfying solution of your problems, and the unseen causes underlying them, I shall be well rewarded for having written you.

R10. 10/27/34 EC’s reply to Mr. [378]: My dear Mr. [378]:

“I’m sure it would be very hard for me to try to explain to you how happy I was to have yours of Sept. 28th. This came to me just as I was leaving for Washington. I was there about three weeks, and was busy every moment of the time, and could have - I suppose - stayed on for another week if it had not been that some of the New York people were rushing us to prepare for a trip there over next week-end; so we had to get back home to catch up with things on hand before going away again.

“As yet I haven’t had the opportunity to look at Mr. Fox’s books. From your own experience and from what I have been told the experiences of others have been in reading and interpreting them, I’m sure that they are very wonderful and much worth while. I hope that during my visit to New York this next time I may not only have the opportunity to possess these books myself and read them but to talk at some length with you and many others whom I’m sure have felt a keen interest in the undertakings that have been associated with me, and the information that has come through me from time to time. I have an appointment to talk with Mrs. [509], and I hope that I may also talk with Mrs. [255], yourself if possible, and the other members of your family. I can only give thanks to God for the wonderful light that I’m sure has come to you, and the knowledge and awareness that His grace is indeed sufficient in every condition or experience that may be ours. This has always been my mainstay, from the very beginnings of my attempts, irrespective of the information that has come through me; from my attempts to study the Scripture, the life and teachings of the Master. Not so much the words, but what the words and the deeds of the Master, Jesus, DO to people as they attempt to make such a part of their own personal experiences. This has always been the most wonderful thing to me, imaginable. It may have gotten crossed or associated with individuals or groups here and there who have had the reverse ideas or plans, I don’t know; but if this truth has not been a portion of my own life and application in my associations with my fellow man, then I am very badly fooled indeed. And I know, to my own conscience at least, I am striving. I know I have much to overcome. I have much to be thankful for. I have much to be desired. I have much to cut out of my own life. But by His grace and His strength and His power, I’m pressing on - if I know myself at all - to the mark of the higher calling that is set in Him!

“As to the suggestions you have made for the Association and its work, these I do not feel that I should allow myself even to think or worry about; but should leave them to those who - as trustees - are attempting to carry out the ideals and purposes back of the whole Work. Yet, as you suggest, most everyone does associate the Association and the man Edgar Cayce so closely together that it is hard to separate them.

But I must leave these to those who have been selected by the other members to fill such offices. And, as I know, in a material world - or mental or spiritual, the combined efforts of individuals is much better; but the effort of one - if guided by the true spirit of the Christ in God - is more than all. I recognize that, and in so far as I may be able to influence them in that direction - if I know what direction that is - that I will strive to do.

“If you could have seen the individuals that were gathered at our meeting in Washington, and the individuals in these groups here in Norfolk and in various portions of the country who are studying and making application of these suggestions made in the lessons formed and that are a portion of the Association’s work, I believe you would see that there is a reason for the Association outside of the fact that it gives a legal aspect for the work to be carried on. Not that I want to hide behind any corporation; not that I want to be just within the law, but rather would I prefer that the work be conducted in such a way and manner that it IS the law. For law in its reality, in its primary sense or essence, is only love. Love such as is manifested to us in the gift of the Christ-child into the earth, or into the man Jesus who became the Christ - as we all may and must do if we would gain that ability to be helpful, hopeful to those that are stumbling along, groping, trying to find something to hold on to - not only now but in the hereafter; something not only to live by but to live with through eternity. For what we do we must live by. We meet ourselves in Him, knowing that He is sufficient to meet every requirement. For He has experienced it all; rejected by His own - He came unto His own and His own received Him not.

“But I’m hoping that I may have the opportunity to talk with you at some length about many of the things that were referred to in your letter. As to how highly I appreciate that letter and your taking the time and thought to write as you did, I cannot tell you. I only hope I may be able to so live and conduct my own life before my fellow man that it will bespeak that appreciation and that love I feel for anyone that would offer himself, his abilities, his mind and thinking, his suggestions, to help me find the way. All of us are groping. All of us have fallen far short of that we should be. But it was the attempt and the try and the faith that was counted to Abraham for righeousness. And I’m sure it will be counted to us in the same way and manner, if we put forth the same proper effort.

“I know you will be pleased to know that we have had more response from the medical profession in the last twelve months than we have possibly ever had before. I don’t just mean osteopaths and chiropractors, either! While to my own mind they are just as worthy and in many cases a great deal more so than many of those who have a string of letters after their name; we have recently had response from people who have accomplished and are going to accomplish things in a scientific way - advanced means and manners of treating human ills; surgeons, obstetricians, psychiatrists, psychoanalysts, etc. And I understand (you possibly know about it) we are to contact in New York on this next visit a leading psychologist in Pennsylvania University, who is to conduct a series of experiments. All of these things show advancement and consideration; that is, the WORLD will look on it as advancement. But I’m very much of the opinion as you suggest, and as I told one man in Washington who will no doubt be the next Speaker of the House, it is much better to

• and I had rather - have the honest opinion of the office boy who is really seeking rather of one in a so-called high position who doesn’t care whether there are any spiritual forces or not!

“But to be of a greater service to a greater number of individuals, if possible, is my desire. I understand the Master was quite right when He said, ‘There were many widows and orphans and many that were ahungered in the days of the famine, yet only unto the widow of Zarephath did the prophet Elijah come.’ To me this means that we must not look within ourselves for exaltation; we must look within ourselves and see that the Christ Consciousness is glorified there, magnified there, and leave the results - that come from our attempted application of such glorification, to God, who is the only giver of an increase or glory in any form in a material world.

“I realize Mr. [378], this is a very poor response, to such a beautiful and wonderful letter, that I appreciate so much; but as I said, your suggestions for the work have been copied out for Hugh Lynn to present to the Trustees. I want to think straight, and do right, if I know my heart at all; and I must give myself more and more to be a channel for the activity of the influence or force that has brought hope to many a heart, many a mind, many a body - rather than to the activities of a material organization for presenting same. Too oft has it been with our orthodox organizations that they have sought as individuals or as organizations to glorify the organization, rather than what the organization stood for.

“Hoping, then, to have the opportunity to see you, and with love and regards and best wishes - and may God’s richest blessings rest and abide with you, I am Ever the same,” Edgar Cayce [EC:GD]

R11. 3/16/35 Wife [255]‘s letter: “I often think of you and wonder how the work is progressing. And I have a vision, since the wonderful permission from the bank came to remain in the house, that this home is to be a ‘temple’, as the reading called it, where ‘Truth’ reigns.” [[275] series?]

R12. 6/20/35 Wife’s ltr.: “On July 8th our daughters [275] and [276] are going to start a musical kindergarten in our home.”

R13. 8/8/35 Wife [255] wrote: “I have consecrated our home to the teaching of Truth. Mr. Cabell W. Rady from Dr. Johanne Greber’s church is giving lectures. I, myself, have a class meeting every Friday of seven ladies, and just as Mr. Emmet Fox said, when we find our ‘true’ place it is effortless and a joy… The reading called our home a temple last year and so I want it to be. Any my Beloved [378] is studying Truth and making wonderful progress!”

R14. 9/29/35 Wife [255]‘s letter: “As I believe I wrote you, my Beloved [378] studied 2 months at Unity Farm last summer and he wrote, to my great joy, ‘Now I can speak with authority.’ He had a most interesting, precious time with all the Fillmores. Wants to go back with me next summer. Things are unfolding so wonderfully.”

R15. 3/15/37 Wife’s ltr.: “Mr. [378] joins me and the family to send you our thoughts on your birthday, affirming love, strength, success and prosperity for you and yours.”

R16. 2/28/38 Wife [255]‘s letter: “It has now been decided that the wise thing to do is sell the house. We hope to do this in the next few months, and are planning to leave for Germany April 28th, if it is God’s will.”

R17. Summer 1938 Mrs. [255] wrote that she and Mr. [378] and their two daughters, [275] and [276] were happily settled in Germany and that son [282] was also joining them. [See detailed leters from wife in [255] series.]

R18. GD’s note: We were told, by some of the family who remained here, that someone in Germany of Mrs. [255]‘s family had left her quite a sum of money, but the only way she could get it was to live over there and use it up.

R19. 12/12/38 Mr. [378]‘s letter from Munich, Germany:

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Cayce, Hugh Lynn, Miss Gladys:

“I do so hope these lines may reach you in time for Christmas

• may it be an exceptionally happy one - we also wish you much joy in the New Year.

“Our thoughts are often with you and the great work that is going on at Virginia Beach. A few days ago Mrs. [255] had occasion to talk in German of your work at a Psychological Society, which holds weekly meetings. She spoke beautifully, she surely was inspired as the words came fluently. We had just listened to a most interesting lecture how philosophy and religion are gradually meeting at one common point of reasoning and understanding. Mrs. [255] then spoke to the lecturer about the work you were doing. He was very much interested and suggested that she speak to the society, as it illustrated exactly the subject of his lecture. This contact will surely prove most interesting as time goes on.

“As everything else in this country - sociability is seldom missing. Instead of stiff rows of chairs, everybody sits comfortably at long tables with ample room between, enjoying his or her cup of coffee, tea, wine or beer, according to his taste. The gathering is congenial but most attentive and deeply interested!

“You no doubt will be interested to learn what Germany is really like and I will try to give you an idea. That the German is a heathen is a lie. They are searching for Truth, same as everyone else throughout the world. The churches are still better attended than at home. Those, we have been to, in various cities are too orthodox to suit us. They satisfy the older generation and must continue until this older generation dies out. The younger generation are NOT encouraged to go to church Sundays and listen to these orthodox teachings. They get their religious training EVERYDAY at school and are encouraged to spend their Sundays out of doors, making trips into the country in groups under proper guidance. They are being instructed along the lines of our truth teachings - and in time these fine young boys and girls will demand, as they grow up, the teaching and preaching of the living Christ.

“The old churches are not interfered with - they are supported by the State and even new churches are being erected by the State. The government does insist that the church keep out of politics - and this is hard on the Catholics, who have thrived for centuries in ruling Europe.

“It may take 25, 50 years or longer - but eventually you will find in Germany a new Religion, based on the sound teachings of Christ. The old churchs, as we know it today will die a natural death and will be replaced with something more beautiful than we can conceive today.

“The jewish question does not come under the head of religion. This is a race question and must be faced by the entire world. Germany has had the courage to face the question openly - in America the jewish question has existed as long as I can remember, only it was handled quietly. They were not wanted in certain clubs, hotels, businesses, etc. The time is fast coming when America must also face this question openly - are the great majority of Christians in the U.S.A. going to allow the jews to continue to domineer them as they are trying to do today? “Hitler did no more than Christ did in the Temple - and for that he is being persecuted by the outside world, particularly America, where the Jewish influence is so strong.

“The European neighboring countries, even France, is waking up to the fact that the German Government is sound and that wonders have been accomplished under the Hitler regime. They also realize that Hitler is not a war lord but has done more for constructive Peace than any other ruler.

“If the German people decided 5 years ago to be ruled by a man in whom they had confidence, instead of adopting our method of selecting a President every few years - that is their business. What Hitler has accomplished in uniting the Germans into a nation of concerted action is perfectly miraculous.

“This is not a one-man Government as you are led to believe. Some day the world will wake up to the fact that the PRESENT German Government is more truly democratic than the old democracies. Here the people really rule! It would make no difference if Mr. Hitler should pass on - the great majority of Germans are so well satisfied with their present method of government that they would again select a Fuehrer. Mr. Hitler has proven to the German the value of a free democracy - “a Government of the people, by the people, for the people”. You do not have to be in Germany very long to realize that the present German Government is working for the benefit of its people as a whole - and how that the Germans realize that in “Unity there is strength” they would never wish to go back to the old system of government. The few of the older generation that might still believe in bygone parliamental rule will die off - and will, each year youth is growing up and is being trained to be leaders in their respective field. There is absolutely NO class distinction - all that counts is work and ability. A boy or girl who shows talent in any field is given a complete schooling without cost. On the other hand a wealthy boy is not allowed to waste his time at college, if he is not willing to work or has no particular ability for study. He is encouraged to work at something he is fitted for and make room for the poor boy who can and is willing to study. Every boy or girl is guided into his or her right vocation. There will be no misfits - everybody will be in his right place - resulting in a strong, harmonious, happy nation.

“There is no unemployment in Germany proper, in Austria and the Sudetenlaud it will be solved in short order. All business is running at top speed. The workman is contented and happy. Strikes are unknown. The workman is NOT a slave

• he knows that his rights are being protected. Farming is on a sound basis. The financial condition is healthy. The present government refuses to become debtors to other nations
• the debts they inherited from the previous system are being liquidated as fast as possible - particularly with such countries that are willing to exchange merchandise for raw materials.

“Fortunately for Germany there are many other countries in the world besides the U.S.A. so that she is able to do a handsome and profitable export business for which she buys raw materials that she needs. It does seem a pity that so many good Christian Americans should be deprived of the privilege of buying so many beautiful and useful German goods if they so choose - and I know they would if they were on display - just because the jew (although in the minority) has created a condition that makes it practically impossible for an American merchant to display German goods. America’s enormous supplies of raw materials, which are now going begging, would find a ready market here, if they were willing to accept German products in exchange. The jew has poisoned the minds of the present American government so that it seems hopeless. To my way of thinking the good old U.S.A. is getting the short end of the stick.

“Life here is very happy and peaceful. Our two girls are happy in their work and we in turn enjoy the pleasure they get out of the musical school. This week they play in a 65 piece orchestra before a larger audience. This is a part of their training. Once a month this orchestra plays to a crowded house and it is quite remarkable what the Professor can do in such a short time with these young folks in various stages of musical development. According to the girls, he is a disciplinarian but all love him just the same. They have many humorous stories to relate when they come home from school and we just love to listen. As [276] says, ‘now that we are on to the ‘racket’ it is lots of fun.’ The beginning was hard, strange language, strange terminology, but everything is going along smoothly now. They are rapt up in music all day, either at school or at home and when they do go out it is generally to some fine concert or to the opera. To-night they are at the opera. Operas are out early in this country, generally at ten or soon after and since it only takes about 15 minutes to get home you get your full night’s rest.

“Germany is always singing; when they work, play or march they always sing. They are taught to sing and play instruments at school. They know music from childhood up, so it is no wonder that good music is appreciated and understood more than in many other countries.

“They have beautiful opera houses in about every city of Germany so the demand for new talent is great. In fact the possibilities of any kind of a musical career is very attractive.

“Just now we are living in the Christmas spirit. It started weeks ago and keeps up until the New Year. Our American children would love the toys and tree ornaments! You should have seen our two big girls just revel in selecting the ornaments for our tree. A privilege they had never enjoyed and with so many beautiful things, it was difficult to limit your choice.

“These specialties, such as Mangers and all the necessary figures to make up the Nativity, ornaments and cakes are sold in special booths set up in a quiet square directly off the center of traffic. It is like going into a different world and one’s heart grows young again! When one experiences all this joy and happiness - and see the fathers carry their children - one can not help but think how different it might have been if this same father had been at the front instead.

“Thank God that the four big men of Europe got together in this Historical City and decided for peace. The results of this momentous meeting meant the saving of the utter destruction of Europe.

“With each day a better understanding is being created between the nations of Europe - and if men of the type of Chamberlin (England) and Daladier (France) remain in power peace is assured.

“The personal contact which has come into vogue since the famous Conference at Munich, if continued, will clear up all existing differences and all that might arise in the future.

“If America would send a few sane Christian gentlemen to study the Germany of to-day and get acquainted with Mr. Hitler and all other great leaders in this country, they would soon learn that the present misunderstanding in the U.S.A. is the result of a malicious jewish campaign to injure German trade.

“We all know that if you send out hate it strikes back - the jew instead of injuring Germany is ruining American trade! When will the Christian American wake up?

“I would recommend you to read Mr. Fletcher Pratt’s article in Dec. “American Mercury”!

“I was tremendously interested in your opportunity to broadcast and trust it was a great success.

“With love and best wishes for a merry Christmas and a very happy and prosperous New Year!” [378]

R21. 10/8/41 Daughter [457]‘s note: “Haven’t heard from my family for a long time. Guess it is more difficult to get letters through now.” [5/6/43 EC dreamed of desperate situation of [378] family in Germany.]

R22. 5/22/45 Wife [255]‘s letter, not knowing that EC had died: “One of our first letters is to you. It all seems like a long disagreeable dream and it is difficult to realize that we will soon be free to return home. We were fortunate in having selected Garmisch for our stay in Germany as this beautiful city remained untouched from the horrors of war. Until last yr. the food problem was not serious and we had no financial worries at any time. The girls and I gave English lessons and my husband [378] was working at a bank.”

R26. 9/7/49 Wife [255]‘s letter: “We are very happy here in …, Pa. We joined the Presbyterian Church in … and there met some neighbors who have moved away. The lady had a nursery school at her home and we took it over and have it here in our home. The girls [275] and [276] like the work immensely and can use their musical training to good advantage. I can help in the background and my husband [378] loves to make the necessary toys.”

R27. 10/8/52 Wife’s ltr.: “We are very busy with our kindergarten, which is really a great pleasure. The girls have 28 pupils and my husband and I help where we can. He repairs toys, helps to clean up. I do the mending of dolls’ clothes, etc.”

R28. 3/19/55 “Mr. [378] has quite recovered from a heart attack he had a yr. ago and can devote himself to the work he likes - doing all kinds of carpentry work, especially for the kindergarten. Just now he has finished a turtle pen, which we can move around in garden. The girls always take the turtle to kindergarten when it is warm. Over there [across the street from our home] he has a glass cage.”

R29. 3/19/57 “Mr. [378] is active in his wood working shop.”

R30. 5/10/60 “It is with a heavy heart that I am writing you, although I know there is no death. My dear husband passed on May 7th at 1:30 A.M. from a stroke. The agony lasted less than 10 minutes. I had the God-given privilege to be with him and to speak the word of release. The undertaker took the body and at about 3 o’clock we all went to bed again. In my daze I heard him say, ‘I’m feeling fine.’, which was the natural thing for him to say, for since his heart attack 6 yrs. ago I often asked him that question. So I went to sleep in peace and woke up refreshed…Now it means facing life for me, and he with his knowledge will know how to go on.”
