This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Virginia, this 20th day of February, 1931, in accordance with request made by self - through her mother, Mrs. [255].

1. EC: Yes, we have the entity now known as [276], and those relations with the universe and universal forces, that are latent and exhibited in the present entity.

2. In entering, we find the influences astrologically in Aries - which will require in the present experience the use of the mental abilities of the entity in making its choice. Hence the particular reference that should be taken as respecting the influences to the entity through the formative period of the mental developments being especially susceptible, that the basis of thought is well founded, or grounded, should be the thing MOST to be considered by those who are responsible for this period. True, each and every entity should be allowed to live their own life - but, as has been given, “Train the child in the way, and when he is old he will not depart from same”, but to force issues when in the formative period is to break the will, or to build resentment that makes for the breaking of other wills as the development comes. Training in the way of an IDEAL, and the purposes of the ideal - as it may enfold and unfold in the life of an individual - is to give such an one the basis upon which they will build their lives, as life in its many phases unfolds as daily experiences of the entity. Train such an one to depend upon the divine that lies within, that may be made to become MIRACLES IN the life, or - abused - may be made to become criminal, or even that as separates the inner self from that continuity of life, that is the hope, the prayer, the wish and desire of EVERY individual. The first law in every life is self-preservation of the life, and [if] will the basis or the fountain head from which life itself gains its impetus be that upon which the ENTITY depends, BEAUTIFUL indeed will be THIS life - which astrologically has SO MANY BEAUTIFUL conditions in same.

3. Coming under the benevolent influences of Jupiter with those of Venus, we will find that love’s influence will RULE the life throughout, will [if] the understanding of love in its broader sense be set as the criterion in the life of the entity, and will cast out fear - that is so easily builded in the experience of human endeavor, that looks on the material world as “I MUST CONQUER - I must make a portion of self in same”; remembering that as was given, God so loved the world as to give - GIVE - His only begotten Son, who took on the form of flesh that He might know the manner of man’s experience in the earth; being, then, as a brother - and he, or she, that asketh in that name, seeketh even as the brother to gain that ability to serve the better, even as He thought it not robbery to call Himself the SON of God, yet it was abusing those forces in HIS life to turn them wholly to secular interests.

4. So, in the training of the entity through the next five to six years, especially will mean that for which the life is lived. Not that the spiritual is to be impressed to the exclusion of the material forces, but rather that the body, the mind, is the temple of the living God, and to present same holy, acceptable, UNTO Him is but a REASONABLE service. Then, make the life - the actions day by day - as a LIVING example, a living reflection, of that as is the basis of the ENDEAVORS OF the entity in WHATEVER direction it may CHOOSE to take.

5. Make the home, the home life, the mother life, that as the IDEAL life for each individual who has been called to serve in that capacity. Let each life in such a capacity know that the Father chose such a channel for the presenting of HIS Son, HIS life in a MANIFESTED manner before the HUMAN family. Through such channels have these forces ever CHOSEN to MANIFEST - and, as the channel is attuned to those forces in HIS way, then let HIM - GOD - have HIS way with THY life. Be that channel of BLESSINGS each day, each hour, and as these ARE shown, more and more may the entity manifest those conditions that present themselves as personalities in the LIFE that is seen or experienced at THIS period.

6. That there are peculiarities to many in the experience of the entity is not to be wondered, when the sojourns are taken into PROPER association or correlations WITH these little peculiarities - as they may be termed; for in the experiences in the earth’s plane, though few in number, old indeed in earth’s experience IS the entity or soul.

7. In the one before this we find in that land now known as the Roman, and during that period when there were the ministering and teaching of those peoples that came up from Judea. The entity was among those who accepted those teachings, and coming in contact with those of that period, taught by the lessons of, the experiences of self and others in the contacts of this new peace, yet suffering in body, by privation - yet able in mind to control those beast, both of the field and of the dens and lairs that the body was placed in; the body bore same, gaining - gaining - oft the liberation for the teachings again through these STRANGE abilities in this particular period; being among those who journeyed again to the Grecian land for the teaching of the peoples, as the entity was carried away from same. In body beautiful, in mind pleasant, in abilities surpassing many in that period; gaining throughout the experience, though suffering in MANY ways and manners. In the name Phoebia.

8. In the one before this we find in that land now known as the Arabian, and to that portion of the country where the banishment of those peoples sent from that known as the Egyptian land. The entity was among those peoples called the wild peoples, or the barbarians. The entity then came under the influence of those so banished, and being awakened through those tenets that were held by those in the land the entity became one of the followers, and returning to the land gained in experience through the teachings; becoming an expert horseman of the plains, and carrying the messages to those peoples in the sand and waste places; returning to the land from which the teachings were gained in the latter days of the sojourn, the entity aided much in the building up of the hospital (that would be called in the present), ministering to the ills of those who suffered in body AND in mind. In the present experience such may be that field, that ministry through which the entity may give into the lives of those contacted those deeper thoughts, that may find their expressions in THIS experience.

9. In the one before this we find again in this same land now called Egypt (this before the mountains rose in the south, and when the waters called the Nile then emptied into what is NOW the Atlantic Ocean). [GD’s note: See [5748] Egypt.] The entity was among those peoples who gathered in places to establish various groups, or families, or sects, to prevent the inroads upon the peoples from the beasts from without, and the entity aided through this experience in the gathering together of various groups, various peoples, to join hands as a COMMON interest for the common interests of all. In the NAME Hein.

10. In the abilities of the entity, these - as seen - lie in that of ministering to others, and IN the home. Will there be kept those ideals that have long been innate - though rebellious spirits rise within from SUPPRESSIONS that existed through the entity’s experience - this may be curbed best through those of loving gentleness, kindness, and pointing the way of keeping the body that temple THROUGH which He, the Father, may manifest.

(A) As given, this the greater talent - that the entity may train self, especially in these directions partaking of same - ALL of those factors that pertain to the ability to minister, through the music spheres, through the color, through the needlework, through all of those that make for home.

“[275], [276], [282] & [457] have written beautiful messages at our healing meditation] services twice a day…

“[276], too, had developed her power of concentration. I feel it distinctly when she treats me. It is the power she she should develop over animals, I suppose.”

R10. 5/22/34 Mother [255]‘s ltr.: “[275] and [276] played so nicely at their Spring concert last Sat. They both made good progress this winter.”

R11. 6/27/34 Mother [255]‘s ltr.: “Had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Drouet, author of ‘Station Astral.’ She is starting an Assoc. to help boys and girls in their education, an inspired idea. I am sure it will be very successful. A student asks for a contribution of 3 to the Assoc. Then the pupil is credited with 2. It is non-profit making. 1 goes to expense of office and scholarships. The contributor receives a 10 coupon book and a big list of stores who give 5-10% off. So if they use their coupons they make $7. The stores profit, too, in more sales. [276] is going to work hard on it, so that she has her lessons looked out for, for next winter. [275] will do it, too.”

R12. 7/6/34 GD’s ltr. to Mrs. [255]: “We have had two Life Rdgs. recently in which [276]‘s Egyptian [Arabian] incarnation has been mentioned; that is, ‘the Queen who ret’d from Egypt and controlled the animal kingdom.’ One is Mrs. [594], who runs the … Restaurant, who must have been closely associated with [276]. She is VERY nice; loves animals too; she is German, married an Englishman. You may recall having met her, I don’t know.” Much love, GD [The other was Mrs. [603]].

R13. 4/11/35 Mother [255]‘s ltr: “[275] and [276] are together playing at a social on 5/10th. So they are making contacts, for which I am very thankful.”

R14. 6/20/35 Mother’s ltr: “[275] and [276] play over the radio tomorrow evening’s amateur hour. On 7/8th they are going to start a musical kindergarten, so they will have busy times ahead of them.”

R15. 10/19/35 She obtained Ck. Physical 276-9, answering questions in re her music, mental-spiritual development; mental attitudes in healing, etc.

R16. 1/20/36 Mother [255]‘s ltr.: “[275] and [276] have played in different churches and enjoy their kindergarten.”

R17. 1/3/38 Mother [255]‘s ltr.: “[276] has had two lessons [flute] with Mr. Kolukos. Both times he was here over two hours! He told Mr. [378] that he only has to tell her things once. He is so jolly and we are all so grateful and happy. The girls [[275] and [276]] played at a church a week ago and did very well. It is excellent practice.”

R18. 11/2/38 Sister [457]‘s ltr. under 412-10, Par. R3 indicates that her family is in Munich, Germany, and that “[275] and [276] are having lessons in music.”

R20. 2/6/39 Sister [457]‘s ltr.: “I have good news from the family over there. They are very happy, particularly the girls [276] & [275]. It doesn’t look as if they are thinking of coming back for quite a while.”

R21. 12/4/39 Brother-in-law [412]‘s ltr.: “We are still receiving good news from the other side with no apparent intentions of returning.”

R22. 5/6/43 EC’s dream: “I saw the [[378] - [255]‘s] in Germany

• they were in an awful state… [276] was going to have a baby…”

R23. 1/20/44 Brother-in-law [412]‘s ltr.: “From the other side, we have not heard for quite some time. We did receive a Red Cross letter telling us that they are well and we did not need to worry.”

R24. 8/29/46 Brother-in-law [412]‘s ltr. to GD: “The family [from Germany] is expected to arrive here this week-end.”

R25. 9/23/46 Mother [255]‘s ltr.: “[276] is planning to take up different things like massage, facials, etc. Osteopathy takes so many years. She has now applied to Dr. Harold J. Reilly [Ph.T.] and we are awaiting his answer - whether they teach, too. It would be so interesting, knowing his close contact with Mr. Cayce.”

R26. 10/26/46 Mother [255]‘s ltr.: “[276] is having private instruction from Dr. Reilly and is enjoying the work very much. Of course Dr. Reilly’s sisters help along. Osteopathy would have taken too many years to study. We can only move into our new home in January [in Pa.], so there will even be time to prepare for the N.Y. City license. She takes her profession wherever she goes, you see, and we all took a liking to …, Pa.”

R27. 10/4/47 Mother [255]‘s ltr.: “[276] likes her massage work.”

R28. 10/20/49 Mother [255]‘s ltr.: “We are very happy to have found a wonderful solution of our life’s work. The girls, [276] & [275], are running a nursery school and have seventeen children coming.”

R29. 7/24/51 Miss [276] reported on her niece’s Life Rdg. 314-1, also saying:

“We are very busy here, altho’ we have vacation from our kindergarten work which is nice. We are very happy here and everything is working very well. We bought our little house and land because it was right on the highway to Phila., which makes it easy for us to get around without a car because the bus goes by our house. However, we didn’t know that the conductor of an amateur symphony orchestra lived only a block away and that the second cellist and a violinist from the orchestra lived across the road! After about 2 yrs. after we came here they heard about us and now we attend rehearsals every Monday night. The harp is brought over in a delivery wagon [for [275]] for concerts. We play together [[275] and I, I mean] too, for churches and clubs, etc.

“Two yrs. ago a lady from our church who lived near us had to move away and she offered us her little kindergarten which she had run for the community. We accepted and found it to be a growing business, so that now we have 24 children enrolled for next fall already!

“[275] accompanies the singing and rhythm work on the harp and at the end of the season we give a little performance of the opera ‘Hansel and Gretel’ with all the children in costumes, singing and speaking the parts. We have made quite a reputation with it which makes us very happy. We have the kindergarten only in the morning, which leaves us some of the afternoon to practice our instruments.

“We have had rather heavy expenses fixing up the house which have to be paid off in the next few years but sometime we hope to become members in better standing with the A.R.E. Time passes very quickly and I am sure that it will bring us all together again. Maybe some day when we have a car of our own we could take a trip down. There is none in sight now, but things happen overnight sometime.” [See 276-2, R34.]

R30. 12/28/51 Mother [255]‘s ltr.: “Our two girls 275 & [276 have nice success with their kindergarten, now being taught in the Community House across the way, as thirty children were too many for the house here.”

R31. 3/19/55 Mother [255]‘s ltr.: “[275] and [276] are busy teaching and going to college in Phila. They finish their kindergarten courses this May. They belong to an orchestra and, besides, give flute and zither lessons [[276] the flute & [275] the zither].”

R32. 1/16/56 Mother’s ltr.: “[275] & [276] are busy studying. They still have two summers, before they have two years of college. The kindergarten has done well this winter. Next winter it will be moved from the local Community House to a Presbyterian Church Educational Bldg. They are planning to found a Christian Day School and will start with a kindergarten.” [GD’s note: Mrs. [255] mentioned that [276] had a cat, a parakeet and a turtle, taking the turtle to kindergarten with her for the children to enjoy on pretty days.]

R33. 1/4/57 Mother’s ltr.: “They are busy women with their orchestra work and harp and flute pupils on Saturdays, in addition to their regular kindergarten work. Besides, they go to Temple University one evening a week in Phila. Fortunately, we are so close to that city.”

R34. 12/19/58 Mother [255] wrote: “The girls have 52 children in two sessions, and last Easter they rec’d the gift of a Volkswagen [from the rest of the family], and so we take lovely trips in the surrounding country which is lovely.”

R35. 3/13/61 Mother [255]‘s ltr.: “The girls 275 & [276 are very busy with their kindergarten of seventy children, and receive many grateful letters from parents. Their success has made it possible for us to make some improvements in the house, for which we are very thankful.” [GD’s note: See subsequent details under sister’s 275-11 Life Rdg. R37. GD’s note: 7/12/33 Her sister [275] received the interpretation below, in meditation, of the life seal which she also drew in meditation on the same day for [276].

The tree means nature which, is ever striving to God in growing every year more beautiful, and larger, and will be the center of Lilian’s life; L being for [276], who through being inspired by the divine in nature, will bring the divine of all animals out, and thus bring them nearer to God. The horse and dog, will always be the two best loved animals. The HOL means H O L (I have not received the correct words yet.) Meaning that the od that you will use to draw the divine out, will be drawn from the horses, which is natural law. They have a great deal, and since it is a domesticated animal, it can be used very easily for taming other animals. The pyramid stands for your Egyptian life; where you had the knowledge of taming wild horses, and which you did at that time and will now. But not through riding him over and over again, but through drawing out the divine in the horse. The flute you will use a great deal in helping you to heal your animals when they are sick, and also helping to tame them down. (The wild ones). The little things on the bottom represent the power of drawing the animals up to you, instead of you lowering yourself to them. ASD means A S D that the animals or objects that had the act of taming or healing done to them, was accomplished by the divine law, or served by divinity.

R38. 12/15/70 Sister [275] wrote: “We are well and busy. Our music keeps us busy at Christmas time, as well as preparing our children for their Christmas programs.

“In the last few years we have become very interested in training our little dog for obedience trials. We take him to school twice a week and work with him every day. Recently we remembered that in [276]‘s reading it mentioned that she trained animals in a past incarnation and should read up on them now. This is exactly what we are doing! It is also interesting to note that at the time of the reading obedience training for dogs was not done in this country as yet. “‘Life is so interesting,’ as Mother [255] used to say.”

In a Life Reading for each of her two young daughters, a mother asked if they had a hidden talent for a particular musical instrument. One was told the harp, the other the flute; that they had the ability from their Egypt Ra-Ta incarnation - to aid others, through their music, to attune to the highest within them.

We prevailed upon them to make this tape for meditation, to be used first at our August 3-8, 1975 Conference on THE ARTS AND HEALING. They are quite well known as performing artists, but wish to remain anonymous.

(Q) Did the entity play any musical instrument? (A) Were each soul today to get rather the vision that the self in life, or Life itself, is the manifestation of the Spirit of God in the earth, and that its soul, the entity’s soul, the companion of that Spirit in the material world, each soul would get rather the vision of its own abilities in the earth, if it will but make the use of, the application of, the manifestations of that spirit that will make for the growth of its own soul, the heritage of each and every soul that enters into the earth’s plane.

As may be rightly gathered from that given concerning this entity, this soul, in its unconscious use of life it gave to man such that has been the aid, the help, the companion throughout the years, the ages since.

In the conscious use of these same influences, with being directed by those that had found - as it were - the relationship between the Creative influence and the creature and its brother, the creature and its Maker, the entity so applied self as to bring harmony into the KINGDOM over which the entity ruled. Not as ruled by might, rather by love. Hence the instruments used were of the reed or flute, that is known in the present, and made the hearts of many merry; not as of those that would gratify the satisfying of carnal forces, but rather that as awakened within each those abilities for the expressing of - in its physical body - the music of the spirit in its activity in and through the body. So in the present, as the experiences of self that go to make up its abilities to quell within the breast of many a tortured soul or many a tortured body that wars within itself with the spirit that is willing and the flesh is weak with its own desires, that as may be given by the entity in word or by the music will bring something to each of the vision that came to those that were under the entity’s supervision or kingdom in that sojourn.

(Q) Is there any guidance that will help me in my music? (A) All of these, when there is the seeking for that which may give to others an awakening, there will be seen those forces, those influences to guide thee. For, think not that the realm of the Father is set at a hit or miss. For, He has given the realms in order. And as the psalmist gave, the heavens in their beauty, in their harmony of their movements, and the earth in its glory as it springs anew into life in seasons that were set by Him from the beginning. And you see all nature respond; only man has changed or has even tempted the Father in attempting to alter those things in their activity.

Hence in seeking in self for those varied influences that may bring joy or peace or harmony, as does music into the ears of those that may hear, there will be given - as has been said, “I will guide thee in all things that ye have need of.” Music is seldom played for self, other than to attune self to the realms of the Infinite. And thus does it raise the soul and the heart to that rhythm, that harmony, that makes for joy even in heaven. For, as it - such harmony, such music as may this entity raise in its own activity, bring even joy at the Throne. And in those heavenly places where the angels stoop down to listen, and the harkening of those that would bring into the souls and hearts of men a strengthening - by those that may play even as this entity.

In Mary Ann Woodward’s book EDGAR CAYCE’S STORY OF KARMA (Coward-McCann, Inc., N.Y., copyright Edgar Cayce Foundation 1971) she devotes Chapter Six to “Group Karma” which includes the above two sisters and their entire immediate large family who all had Edgar Cayce Life Readings.

R42. 3/10/80 Sister [457] reported on [275] and [276] [See under 275-45] including this paragraph about both [275] and [276]:

“However, both sisters are active again with their hobby-dog Training. They have important positions in two dog clubs, and this keeps them busy every day. The clubs show their appreciation in very practical ways.”
